We sell stencils that are used primarily for Cerakote, but would work fine for rattle can. All you'd need to do is let the first coat dry completely, apply the stencil, paint the over coat, dry, then peel the stencil off before clear coat.
I just want to add names to the already colored Ozark trail tumblers. I've applied the names with an oil-based paint. Do you recommend that I bake the Tumblers to ensure the names don't come off? A lot of people think stainless steel never rusts but in fact it’s just rust resistant due to the chromium in it that forms a oxide layer on the surface to protect it. If scratched it will quickly fill in the gap with a new oxide layer to protect it but if you scratch it with normal steel exposing it to iron it will rust much faster. Steel wool, harsh chemicals such as chlorides and other things are not safe for it. Wiping it with a soap and water is best

The ozarktrail actually performs better in a few trials I've seen online. Although most believe they're made by the same company. All their measurements are identical, even the degree of the angle where it gets smaller for the cup holder.
I doubt it lasted very long. Stainless doesn’t hold paint well and the rattle can paints chip very easily. If you want a lasting finish then powder coat it.

I painted several cups with the paint and top coat, but did not use the oven. Now my bottoms of the cups are scratched up. The sides are mostly fine. I saw another video that a women sells cups and she uses epoxy clear coat as a final coat. Does the oven treatment 'replace' the epoxy?
I am planning on getting a 64 oz rambler, from YETI, i'm getting a great deal, and if I wanted to do this, which I kind of do, my biggest fear is it exploding in the oven, is that something that I need to worry about at all?
Miranda Scott Use a high gloss paint and let it dry for 24hrs. Lightly sand with 1200 grit sand paper and wipe it clean with alcohol. Than use a 2k clear coat and let it dry for 24hrs. Than enjoy...
Um, you need to scratch the surface of the stainless for anything to stick. You also need a metal etching primer as a base coat. How long is this paint lasting for you?
Might want to consider leaving a larger unpainted lip if you are not using a food safe clear top coat. Especially if you are selling them or giving them to others as gifts. Lets face the facts if one person gets sick from the paint it could be very costly.
+Cassidy Wallace Oven might have been too hot? I let them cool down in the oven completely. Klean Strip paint stripper works well to remove it. Try again if you have time!
+ScienceFoundation You can buy powder coated tumblers directly from yeti and companies alike. Baking it assures adhesion. You don't have to bake it if you're not comfortable.
We bake them in our shop at 200 for 2 hours, and have never had any issues. We've sold somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 of these things, and have never had a reported issue. We also have a cabinet full of them, and use them daily.
Every Stainless Tumbler you buy will tell you not to microwave. NEVER PUT ANY METAL INTO A MICROWAVE! That has nothing to do with the heat. The dishwasher statement is because some of the more abrasive detergents can pit the metal over time. The guys that powder coat these put them in the oven for extended periods of time. 200 deg or less and it should be fine.

The ozarktrails small cup will keep coffee hot enough to drink for about 4 hours. I wonder how long yeti does. I would like to tell you the probable reason you have so many negative thumbs down is the video is so hard to watch. At 8 mins in you're just now taping the top! No one wants to set and watch that much. You made a 6 min video into 20+ mins. Unfortunately, that gets thumbs down. 😏😖
Dude, if you like, look at the date, it’s almost like this video was made WELL before yeti, rtic, or OT offered any colored tumblers. Also, they don’t offer every color an individual may want one to be. Shocking

Have you done any where you've used a vinyl decal in the same way as the tape than just remove decal to leave behind a stainless steel logo?

Putting the tumblers in the oven on a low temperature bakes on the paint. Therefore hardening the coating.

+Eric Plautz I believe keeping the oven around 175 will prevent that. I have done a dozen or so of these and they all turn out well. Good luck!

It’s going to smell some but not horrible. Yes, it is safe to put stainless in the oven. Many parts within an oven are stainless.

What's the purpose of baking in the paint
I'm pretty sure the baking session is so the paint stays on there permanently because if you don't bake it you can scrape it off with your fingernail
Aaron Lozano baking the cup after the fact keeps you from getting the tiny little dots all over the cups from air drying.
Well I've also heard of people baking it to make the paint more permanent

Because I don't have $40 for a cup. But do have $13. $10 for the cup, $3 for paint. Yetis are subpar compared to these.
