    For context, I’ve been making 6 figures for months but never cared to share it on here on RUclips because my goal is not incentivizing cybersecurity as a cash cow but rather a rewarding career. Also, I’m turning 20 soon so might as well lol

    Great video! It’s crazy how similar our stories are…I come from a west African immigrant family as well and I got in an accident also in 2020 and the beginning of that year was very rough for me too. I don’t have a degree and It was also the year I got my 6 figure dream job , except I was 20. Doing internship programs, certifications, and networking really was my secret to success. I commend your openness, your candor, your boldness and the tempered audacity with which you roll out your contents.
    Your humility is unmistakable. It is clearly evident in your gentle nature, countenance, tone, narratives and demeanor.
    Worthy of note is the fact that you are dispassionate and self critical in your analysis. Consciously avoiding distractions, self discipline and your passion for excellence has definitely kept you laser focused on the “things that matter” which has got you to where your are today in life and career.

I feel like if i was not sick for the last couple months, i would have gotten a job because i was putting the time, efforts and the energy for the skills that is needed. I live in the US now and came here as an immigrant from East Africa, just turned into 18 last month so i been here for 5 five and months since. I am realizing i value my time for than money. Becoming more independent as a contractor and moving away from big business. I respect you and your channel but i would take a leap into becoming self sustainable in the future. especially if your birthday is this month and if you are an Aquarius you got the skill set. If you are a pisces you may have to do some soul searching. look it up. God Bless. "Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free - John 8:32"

    Another banger vid man great job! I wanted to ask for some advise as a fellow 19 year old myself struggling to figure what I want to do with my life. I've been studying for the sec plus and building my home lab(Using your vid's as guidance) but I have no enjoyment in anything related with cyber sec or IT. The main drive I had was to do since my family was kind of pressuring me to get a good job and also since I wanted to work remotely. I crave being alone ever since I was a child in which I find comfort in. You helped me get out of this rut I had of depression and other mental illnesses to study for the sec plus test but I didn't enjoy anything even when building and working on the monitoring and detection lab. I've been looking into software development and software testing but still cant put a finger on what I would like to do man feel lost. Would love some advice as a fellow brother in Christ.

    • @DayCyberwox
      @DayCyberwox  2 года назад

      Hey man! That’s a tough spot to be in and it’s hard to succeed at something if you’re not interested in it. It seems like you’ve explored IT & Cybersecurity stuff, however, have you tried anything cloud related? I’d recommend trying your interest in that and see if you like it.
      Now if that still doesn’t interest you, I have to suggestions - ask God to guide you according to HIS will for your life and to show you the way he wants you to go. Secondly take a personality test and figure what “type” you are and start exploring other things. You can always find success in other things that you’re wired for 🙂
      I hope this helps!

    I think you should be more careful assuming every American has privilege. I am first gen and I was born in the usa. and idk if it is because you have only been here for 4/5 years but I think you have some learning to do about this country and it's poverty before assuming. It needs to stop. but congrats on the current job!

    • @DayCyberwox
      @DayCyberwox  2 года назад +8

      Thanks for pointing that out. I do understand that not every American has certain privileges and I’m quite educated about the situations, struggles, poverty, discrimination and most other social issues, however, my point is - which I still stand on - being born in America is a privilege. Being a first gen, I’m sure you understand what your parents had to go through in terms of not being born here, that’s what I’m referring to.

    • @NeonKodiak
      @NeonKodiak 2 года назад +8

      I think it's very naïve to think that being born in America does not come with certain privileges even if you are poor. Being an immigrant of any kind means you deal with different things that a born American never would, be it learning a new language, just not having certain knowledge necessary for example on how to apply for colleges, having to deal with financial or legal hurdles, dealing with work visa etc. You need to stop just seeing things from your perspective and look at how people around you have to deal with things be they a different race, gender or yes nationality.
