So captivating! Such bold, yet ethereal beauty! You continue to absolutely amaze me Sara! To start your color pallet is so unusual. I would never think these colors would work together. But you not only made them work together, they are in perfect harmony. I am so enthralled by this painting that I called my sleepy husband over to look at it. He immediately brightened up and said "Wow, that's beautiful!" Sara you have conquered and are victorious on a Big canvas with the pearl pour! That is a big deal in itself. I know you have been very successful on huge canvases before, but your idea of using that long pallet knife really made for some incredible pearls. When I can I'm definitely going to try out the techniques you used for this breathtaking beauty! 😊🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁 I'm sure your client will be over the moon with joy hanging this in their home!

This is so amazing! I agree, this is your signature, no doubt! Love the extra golden touch right at the end! Do you mind me asking if you did or do you ever top with any type of varnish? I have matte varnish that I love the look of when it dries, but don't always know when/if it is necessary! Thanks so much! :)

Sarah, beautiful! What if any product do you finish on top? Do you ever resin and up to how big?

I would like to ask for one clarification about dark base coats, which I have never been able to get good pearls from. Do you just use Behr deep base satin enamel and then replace the apple barrel and artist's loft with ANY type of paint, or with different colors of those same brands?? Thank you!
Kate, that’s a great question! That’s exactly right. I generally use Amsterdam tube paint. Every acrylic behaves a bit differently in the basecoat so it might need a little bit of tweaking as far as the ratio… Meeting at might need more of the 7300 than the white recipe.
Sara, All your work is just stunning! How do you get all those cells and what do you have holding up the canvas while you add to the painting?
It’s an effect achieved by using a very thin basecoat with satin enamel in it. I have a really great paint Mixing video that might help answer some questions.

I just use large push pins on the bottom of the Canvas to hold it up off the surface.👍

I use Liquatex varnish and occasionally I do resin.
