Nice review. Ive been waiting to see a comparison. I purchased the 940 when it 1st came out. I did seriously consider the 1301 but was price sensitive and prefer the tang safety. I dont think the ultima patrol was out yet. Ive been fortunate to not have had issues with mine. Lubed the hell out of it when i got it and only shot slugs and buckshot until recently. I still want a 1301 !
I can say with certainty you did. I was in the same boat but I didn’t want to wait a week for the A300 so I got the Mossberg. I should’ve bought the A300 Ultima. I have a couple problems with my 940 Pro. The barrel clamp is super finicky. I could not load more than 5 shells unless it was so loose it can move freely so I had to buy an HB Industries clamp but that’s not a huge deal overall. The aftermarket support for the 940’s sucks compared to basically everything else. The hand guard feels like I could break it if I squeezed hard enough and there are 0 aftermarket options to replace it. I did put a Mesa Tactical Urbino stock on it which was a great choice. The magazine extension tube also feels and looks very cheap but there are luckily aftermarket ones available, at least Briley has one. My biggest issue of all is coating on the barrel is absolute crap. I am one of those people that probably over cleans their guns. I live in upstate SC where the humidity can be a little crazy so I generally wipe my guns down with Sentry 7 Tuff Glide or some sort of dry lube protectant once every month or so. Even with that, the barrel surface rusts like a mother. So then I turned up the heater started coating the entire barrel with oil and it still has issues with surface rust. At this point, I’m tempted to either sell it or blast the coating off the barrel with aluminum oxide and do the cerakote myself. I’m leaning towards selling it because all I see is negativity when I look at it now.
I sold my last mossberg a few years ago and have no interest in the brand anymore. The 590 works but there's nothing about the build quality that impresses me and I don't like the safety because I prefer pistol grip stocks. I have an M1014 so if I ever buy another shotgun, it will be another Benelli or a Beretta 1301.
I appreciate your review but I still like this gun. If you shoot enough you can find faults in everything mechanical! Cars, guns you name it. Keep up the great work. I am retired Military and have been shooting since 7 or 8 yrs old and I'm in my 60's now. Mine are for home defense and I'm confident and comfortable in their ability to function. God willing aside from range use, if I never have to test this in defense of myself or my family, I'll totally satisfied. Semper Fi!
Berettas and Benellis not being made in the U.S. is a reason I prefer them. The QC of European made shotguns and guns in general is so much better. They don't let finance bro owners cut corners running it into the ground like Freedom group did to Remington and Marlin. Or use customers as beta testers like Sig. The A300 patrol may be made in the U.S. but they still have to answer to the family in Gardone, Italy. Same with U.S. made F.N. and Glock products being answerable to Belgium and Austria.
I ordered the Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical in December 2023, and have put about 300 (or more) rounds through it, and it is STILL jamming (FTE and FTL) literally every single shot. I've sent it back to Mossberg, and they sent it back after cleaning the gasblock (lots of carbon buildup, according to them) -- that was after maybe 30 rounds, and after I had just cleaned it, so I don't buy their explanation. I am only shooting slugs, as that's all that my local ranges will allow. I'm ready to send it back to them again, as it is still unreliable. I will definitely NOT be my home defense go-to, as I had intended when I spent $1100 on it. Very disappointed so far.
The amount of carbon build up on the gas piston, mag tune and ports was very telling, especially for a gun they put special coatings on to help with. the issues we had, were what I thought they would be from a mossberg semi auto, as it’s what I had experienced in previous models
I think you got a bad shotgun. Which is really unfortunate because you have such a large audience. I have the 940 pro tactical and it has run flawless. The couple gripes I DO have with the 940 is the stupid PLASTIC M-lok barrel clamp. It's worthless to mount anything to. I put a standard Streamlight 1000 lumen gun light on it and the mount broke in the first 20 rounds. COME ON Mossberg, would an aluminum one have killed you? The second gripe I have is also the barrel clamp and Mag tube mounting. I put a very expensive Mlok barrel clamp to replace the crap factory one and mounted my flashlight, only this time there is no way to prevent the clamp from sliding down the tube under recoil. I tried, tape, adhesive, and I even tried to weld little spot welds on the tube to keep the clamp from sliding. The welds were too much and penetrated to the inside of the tube. MY fault. But the good news is Mossberg doesn't have ANY replacement mag tubs for this shotgun for sale. I had to go with a Nordic tube to get the gun running again.
It’s possible we got a bad one, but in my experience mossberg semi autos are like this and 90 percent reliability as par for the course. I saw it with the 930, I saw it when I shot 3 gun and used a 1301 and others had 930s. I’m glad yours has been good!
it would be nice if QC would inspect each gun thoroughly instead of on out of each batch. This is why you have such a wide amount of inconsistencies among shooters.
I wish this video was up before I bought my 940. I bought it because my local gun store couldn’t give me a confident answer as to when they could get me an a300. After about 200 shells I experienced weird jams whenever trying to breach load. I’m having serious buyers remorse and just to add insult to injury when I brought the 940 back to my local gun store to have them take a look they had not 1, not 2, but 3 a300’s in stock. Summary, don’t buy the 940.
@@HuntFishShootChannel my 940 is currently at my local gunsmith but honestly I’m not sure if he can do anything. Either way I’m trading it in for an A300
THANK YOU - - for having integrity! It takes stones to speak truth to power - and you show you have them. I'm a new subscriber, introduced to your channel while researching the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol. I do not have a 'collection' of guns - being from Canada they are much less popular here, are resticted (to the 6 tube variants) and other 'Canadian restrictions'. This firearm, the Mossburg 940 and the 590 were both on my shortlist. But I hear from many - and your excellent video clearly demonstrates the fact - that these Mossburgs seem to jam - a LOT. And that's the last thing I want in a home defence firearm. (And the A300 is now made in the USA...) I was looking at a Shockwave as well but I think with the accuracy and low-recoil the A300 UP offers, I don't see any other 12 guage that will move it from my current #1 spot. I had seen enough - at the 12:00 mark - but in support of you - I'll watch all of this episode too. I'll look for one of YOUR videos that might compare the A300 UP, the 590 M and the Shockwave - but they might be too dissimilar to be in one video. Integrity has an appeal above all other channel features. Thank you.
Thank you! Sincerely appreciate the support and that you appreciate our reviews! The A300 is an excellent gun and hard to beat. For the Size the 590 is great as well! Thanks again for watching!
My HD gun is a 590A1 with an XS big dot tritium bead and a Streamlight TL Racker. The 940 is on my short list butttt my eye is still on a LTT 1301 for an upgrade. It’d be cool to see you review their version of the Mod 2 that just came out if you manage to get your hands on one. By the way, just discovered the channel a few weeks ago with the OA 2311 review. All the content has been awesome since! You’re part of my gun friends’ group chat now. Hope they don’t see this corny comment lol. Keep it up 👍
Hell yeah! Thanks for the support! We will keep it up! Head to head with this and the A300 Ultima patrol will be out next week. This shotgun was quite a let down for us, so possible we sell it and grab a mod 2 1301 for review!
I've got a Mossberg 500, 590, and Shockwave. I was leaning towards the 940 because I like the tang safety, but now I am leaning towards the Beretta Ultima Patrol.
@@edsweeney6843 get the A300 man. You'll never regret that buy. The pumps that Mossberg makes are the best out there. Just not there with their semi auto platforms
Awesome video big dog. And you are absolutely right about the loading. It feels rough especially compared to my a300 and 1301. You're living the life out there in the country 💯 keep up the good work this channel is gonna grow. From your #1 black man fan 😂
Thanks brother 💪 appreciate the support! It’s our little slice of heaven just outside the city! Appreciate the support and we got a lot of good stuff coming up!
I just ordered a Mossberg 940 Pro, I wished other reviews would be as honest as you are on this video. Had I seen this video before purchasing the 940, I would probably have purchased the A300. I have a 590A1 (of course it's a pump action) and have never experienced any of the things problems you had in this video. Actually, that's why I decided to continue with Mossberg.
Other ones could have been honest but in some way I have concerns over that because I must have handled 5 different of these in 3 different stores and they all felt the same with poor build quality, even this one which was unopened. Their pump guns are great and I recommend them!
I appreciate the review as I've been considering this shotgun. I feel deterred from it now, but I am curious how well the Thunder Ranch series of the same 940 platform does? Nice shooting!
I've had mine for anout 2 years now with no real issues. The only thing I found is that when they advertise that it can be shot with over 1000 rounds through it without cleaning, I think they meant with Birdshot or maybe Buckshot. I only shoot at indoor ranges and have ONLY shot nothing but slug through mine and it will get so FILTHY with a little over 100 rounds that she will ask for cleaning by not cycling properly, once cleaned she runs like a champ for around another 100. The lead from the slug really fouls up the gas system like I've never seen before and is understandable.
Idk i talked about a couple issues I had on mine in a recent video I made, but my issues were quickly resolved. Personally im still happy i went with this over the a300
I’m still running my 18.5” Beretta 1200(Police Choked) 6+1 Inertia Shotgun that I put an optic on and non-hollow stock on👉🏾super lightweight, accurate, fast rate of fire(loading port and bolt release button aren’t ideal but it’s worth the trade off)…I love it and I’ll run that thing till it dies(it won’t😂)…great review and digging your channel man👍🏾
Another great unbiased review. Production value of your videos is really getting good. It sucks YT suppresses 2A content because you roll out much more helpful and entertaining videos than a lot of the bigger name guntubers with the heavy sub counts
It's not the coatings but rather the new and improved gas system which consists of the spacer tube and gas piston. This is what keeps your shotgun running clean with less maintenance.
I have a 940. Mounted a 507 with no issues. Zero FTF using the cheapest 00 I could find (Zuber, Sterling). No rattles. No issues reloading. Yes, the tang safety is a bit more stubborn than on the 500 series, but that can be fixed with a metal piece. I replaced the barrel clamp with a metal part from GG&G. Mossberg cheaped out on that. I wonder if your issues are due to the green. You stated that the buildup wouldn't let the optic sit flat.
My 940 JM PRO hand guard doesn’t flex or pop like that, nor my 940 pro tactical. Now my 930 JM PRO and my 930 SPX , the hand guard leaves something to be desired. Now all 4 are extremely fast, and if JM PROMAN himself can’t outrun any of the 4 just mentioned, I truly doubt you can.
JM PROMAN ( Jerry Miculek) can’t out run it because they pay him to say he can’t. He can shoot a revolver faster than anyone in the world, let alone a shotgun. You really believe Jerry Miculek can’t shoot the JM Pro faster than it cycles? You enjoy your mossbergs they are good shotguns, but I feel there are better options for a semi auto.
I'm from Thailand. I have a 940 pro tac. It's been through 300 rounds. Haven't found any stuck problems yet. With brand name bullets produced in Thailand and produced elsewhere such as s&b, fiocchi, palettoni, Rio, eley. The downside might be the plastic parts that deteriorate quickly because of the hot weather in Thailand. I saw TFB's testing also get stuck. Maybe with federal bullets
I just send my 940 pro tactical back to mossberg…. I purchased mine in December 22, only shot tens round through it, until last week and put 25 rounds through it where it jammed on the second to last round like yours did where it sandwiched the spent casing and a fresh shell. Turns out my gas block separated from the barrel, and the bolt was pushing the barrel out of the receiver, the clamp was the only thing holding the barrel in place.
Glad I found your review. I was considering the Mossberg 940 Thunder Ranch edition. But I was torn between that and the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol. I'm looking forward to a head to head video.
I recommend you watch the head to head video for sure then! It will be out next week, I don’t want to spoil it for you, but it will make the decision very easy.
It’s not even a hard choice the A300 UP is superior too the 940 pro tactical. If the 940 was $699 I would say go mossberg but being the beretta is the same price go A300 all the way.
Im not surprised by your experiences I know a lot of people love Mossberg. But from my experiences and I’ve had a lot of them is their quality and quality control is lacking. My hunting buddies and I bought our first Mossbergs about 35 years ago because they had a 3 1/2” offering. We thought they were great but that lasted less than a year. They all failed in so many different ways. So all these years later I’m in a Sheels I handle a couple Mossberg shotguns. Still feel cheaply made imo. I understand when $ is tight but if you can spend a little extra $ and get a quality shotgun. I for one like Benelli. From my experience They’ll last you a lifetime and a lot less headaches
Thanks for the review! I just picked up one of these a few weeks ago, same spec. I have the same handguard flexing issue, made me feel a little better to know I'm not the only one having this annoying issue.
This is definitely something that should be brought to attention of Mossberg. Even the 1301 had its issues (Gen 1) when pressing the cartridge latch, it liked to eject multiple shells onto the carrier causing the gun to malfunction. All in All, great and honest video
The way the follower slides, the way the lifter opens and closes and the smoothness of the bolt running in the action is sluggish. It’s rough. I’m not high I just know shotguns can be better, ie something made by beretta, Benelli or Franchi
Good review. I’ve had mine for about six months and I have had zero malfunctions with a wide variety of rounds. However my safety is so stiff it is unusable and my front bead does not align with the red dot, it’s as if the bead was not mounted top dead center of the barrel. The gun is very accurate with the red dot and light recoiling.
I got about 120 slugs through mine. Ive had many issues. Especially failures to extract. I think it was the ammo though. I still don't trust its reliability though. Im going to keep putting shells through it
For us it didn’t matter the ammo or the type it just wouldn’t run reliable and the issues continued when we compared it tot he beretta in a video filmed after this one.
I have one of these and I have about 1000 rounds of buckshot, slugs, target loads, 2 3/4" and 3" through it without a single issue. Mine had the forearm issue when I first got it,but it stopped after I took the forearm off and seated it better against the frame.I don't like the barrel clamp and am probably going to replace it with something metal. Maybe I got lucky, but I like it so far.
Make sure the forend nut is tightened first and then rotate the mag tube extension until its also snug. If you tighten them simultaneously you will end up with the issues you are experiencing.
I think the issues your having may all be attributed to the cerakote. All other reviews were of the plain black. I'v personally have not had any issues, other than replacing the mag tube follower. ( hanging up on the extension) Add that the black one can be had for around $900, a little less than the A 300 ultima patroll, and has a few better features as well. I would send it back and get the non coated...2 cents
There is quite literally not one thing this shotgun does better than the Beretta. The concept or idea of the cerakote is why my shotgun has issues and the black ones do not is an even bigger testament to the guns lack of quality.
Not sure about the 940....but Ive got a Mossberg 930 SPX with the pistol grip, i did have some issues after purchasing new. After the break in period, its run flawless. No hiccups. Great firearm & reliable, my only gripe would be the texture on the foregrip. Its too aggressive.
Yeah who knows all I know is it can’t cycle max loads with reliability and I’m not surprised. I have been using semi auto shotguns since before Mossberg even made them, this gun hasn’t helped me believe in them. For some, I’m sure they are happy but for me, I’ll stick with what I know performs. In regards to break in, I bought a Benelli Super Vinci a few years ago and go rid of it due to its inability to run anything less than heavy target loads or duck/turkey loads reliably. Really nice shotgun, but my 900 dollar Franchi Affinity 3.5 will run a 3.5” Turkey magnum, 2 3/4 dove load and an ulltralite recoil load all loaded in the tube reliably without hiccup.
Bought one Jan 2024. Same problems. Sent back to Mossberg. They replaced elevator. Seems to have helped but I lost trust in it for home defense. Still has some branded shells it will jam with constantly that my other shotguns run fine.
I had the same problem with the hand guard and I found that the mag extension nut wasn’t properly tightened. Loosen the nut, seat the hand guard, retighten the nut properly. This solved my issue. Hope this helps.
Helpful to some but not to me. I tried fixing the popping handguard and regardless of assembly it didn’t help. I even found 4 other 940 pro tactical shotguns at stores which all did this. They come completely assembled from mossberg, so some would call that an issue.
Idk man I've had mine for about a year and haven't had any issues other than the loose foregrip but that tightened up once I disassembled it and cleaned it. I absolutely love mine and am at 5-600 mixed rounds without a hiccup.... but I also disassembled it and cleaned it when I first got it.
the shotgun isn't necessarily made for low brass birdshot and the cleaning cycle between rounds is because they said it has a self cleaning gas system.
Why are we talking about the bird shot? You also realize this operating system is no different the any of the other 940 series guns? Like not even a little bit. The shotgun did not feed or extract birdshot, buckshot or slugs with any relative ok level of reliability. The forend is loose and pops when squeezed no matter what for me, even after reassembling it and cleaning. I’m not too sure about the self cleaning part, as this gun gets more carbon fouling inside than I am accustomed too. Whether a 1301, A300, Benelli M4, Franchi Affinity, Beretta Pintail, Franchi AL48, Benelli Super Black Eagle, Benelli Super Vinci, this gun is the dirtiest and most fouled after 200 rounds. Yes some of those are inertia guns, while others are piston or gas operated. For me with an extensive experience behind several semi auto shotguns, since before Mossberg even made them, this gun is sub par when compared to the competition. I am happy to hear yours has been good and without issue, but for our channel and the people I know I could never recommend this shotgun over its main competitor the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol.
I've seen a video of someone that addressed that "wobble" in the forend and had a solution. Couldn't find it again, but he disassembled it and checked if everything is tight. Maybe something you could have a look as well that might help. But I have to admit that it's a bummer that we even have to deal with it at such a price-point. I'm torn between the 940 JM Pro and the Beretta 1301. The Beretta is about 600€ pricier than the 940, but the 940 isn't cheap at all with 1600€. I mean 600€ is a lot of ammunition I could fire through that gut - if it works. I'm sorry if there are any spelling mistakes, !'m German ;) I'm happy if you have any suggestions or recommendations for me that I could have a look at. Have a great day, Sven
If you are wanting the JM Pro, the 1301 comes in the competition model as well! They really are not the same but the 940 would be a good buy if it’s that much cheaper!
@@HuntFishShootChannel thank you for the reply ! I think it was the competition version of the 1301 that my gunsmith offered me, but I’d have to double check it. In Germany the blue versions are about 600€ apart and the black versions about 800€. Would you expect that I have massive problems with the 940 ? Some of the problems might be an easy fix when I just need to pull it apart and put it back together, but aftermarket parts are rare for the 940 compared to the 1301.
@Darkremixsven based off my experience and many others I know, including owners of the 930 JM Pro, I haven’t met someone or myself that has one which runs 100 percent of the time. They are either ammo picky, unreliable in general or they fall apart and have poor build quality. You get what you pay for in this instance. Do i think the Beretta could be cheaper? I wish it was but at least when I buy an expensive Italian shotgun it feels and operates like a 1k plus gun.
@@HuntFishShootChannel That helped me a lot ! I think I need to get my hands on a Beretta and than I can make a better choice. I think I'd go with the Beretta in an instant when there wouldn't be that price difference. Maybe when I handled one, I'm convinced that it should be the 1301. Thank you very much again ! You really helped me.
A sample of one means just one. Conclusions can be drawn about that one, for the most part. I don’t have one, so no dog in this fight but how people judge a product based on one sample is meh.
It’s not one sample. I picked up and handled 5 of these at three different stores and they all had the same sub par quality for the price. When you compare how this shotgun is to a Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol in the same price range, it doesn’t stack up well. In addition I have used plenty of mossberg stuff in the past and in my experience, how the 940 performed is exactly like every other mossberg semi auto shotgun has performed, ie not well.
@HuntFishShootChannel good to know. I have a buddy whose 940 has been flawless, he competes with it, zero issues. But, again, sample of one. I had a Benelli M4 that had all sorts of issues. It was eventually fixed but left a bad taste, so sold. Not sure which to go with next. My Mossberg 930 performed great...but I cleaned it all the time!! Never let it get too dirty for obvious reasons.
Let me say this up front, I love tactical shotguns. I am 63 and I have over 40 tactical shotguns. My new Berettas are extremely fast shooting and fast handling. What most people don’t understand is a 930 SPX is faster than a Fostec Origins. Sir I do believe you got problematic 940. I’m sure Mossberg would send you another one to just completely replace this one, as for 3 gun and you having trouble with a 930 JM PRO, YOU MAY BE THE PROBLEM! Now before you ask, "who is this ass clown"? I went through 15,000 round of 00 buckshot last year alone, that doesn’t include slugs and field loads and mini shells. The 930 SPX was chosen by many, many police departments and state police. Now as for my Beretta A300 ULTIMA PATROL, I had so much trouble out of it, Beretta sent me a new gun. My 1301 Tactical has run flawlessly. Now I will agree with you on Franchi shotguns, I have a 48 BLACK MAGIC and it is super fast! Matter of fact, I ran it as a 3 gun shotgun. They still offer great value. Probably my most favorite made in USA new shotgun is the Remington V3. Gun is super fast and super reliable.
All good! Thanks for sharing your experiences! That sucks you had an issue with your A300. For me, it’s hard to say if I do have a problematic one or not as I think I need even more rounds to ensure that, but I don’t frankly have the time nor want to waste the rounds with it. It’s just what I have come to expect from mossberg in the past. I think I’ll just get another 1301 or M2 tactical and call It a day!
I’ve been around shotgun my whole life and this guy acts like he just picked one up for the first time everything he’s crying about doesn’t make any sense to me
I have been around a shotgun my whole life too but I won’t mince words, my I grew up with Italian made shotguns because my dad thought everyone else made sub par shotguns. I learned on a a .410 Remington 870 at a very young age, then went to a 20 gauge Franchi AL48, one of the most prolific semi auto bird guns ever made, and then added a beretta, Benellis and some more Franchi shotguns, you can even throw some Browning Gold Hunters in there. My standards are high and I think Mossberg makes a sub par semi auto shotgun that people should stop pretending like it’s the same quality and performance of an Italian made or Browning shotgun. They aren’t.
From someone who owns both the beretta 1301 mod 2 the A300 UP and also the mossberg 930 spx and 940 pro tactical. The mossberg semi autos are amazing guns and worth the money but the berettas are far superior to both mossbergs. I love all of them 🇺🇸🤙🏼💥

Well that concludes everything 😂😂 Im definitely getting a A300
bought a 940. same issues as here. What happened to Mossberg??
Nothing, in my experience they have always been like this when it comes to a semi auto shotgun
@HuntFishShootChannel
I agree, the entire series of their autos sucked.
Hell yeah!
The 940 seems to be a lesser competitor for the A300.
For my money, the m4 LE is heads and shoulders above them both and a hair above the 1301 LTT.
I appreciate your review but I still like this gun. If you shoot enough you can find faults in everything mechanical! Cars, guns you name it. Keep up the great work. I have the Ultima Patrol A300 and I am so glad I made the decision. Much better quality!
Awesome!
Shot over 500 rounds with mine and not a single malfunction
Awesome!
Great review! Thank you for the transparency.
So glad I went with a 1301. Different price catagories I know.
Worth the extra money!
Thanks for the video. I was torn between these 2 at my local LGS Saturday. Can't wait for the comparison video
It’s a good one!
#Me2. Got the cash for either, just hard to pick. Anything is better than my turkish POS.
Couldn’t agree more!
I just got rid of my 930 JM pro for all the same issues you cited. I figured the successor model would have all the bugs ironed out.
It does not or at least doesn’t seem the case! It performed poorly against the A300 right after this review
HaHa. Jams. What JUNK !!!
it would be nice if QC would inspect each gun thoroughly instead of on out of each batch. This is why you have such a wide amount of inconsistencies among shooters.
That would be nice
Beretta all day
@@ithinkimbackjw agreed!
Thanks for sharing your experiences!
(And the A300 is now made in the USA...)
I was looking at a Shockwave as well but I think with the accuracy and low-recoil the A300 UP offers, I don't see any other 12 guage that will move it from my current #1 spot.

@@HuntFishShootChannel 100% truth brother. Incredible pump guns for the money. But no good for semi auto

I have over 1500 rounds through my 940 and is smooth and haven't had a single issue and not only that I haven't even cleaned it yet.
That’s great! I know what this thing looked liked inside after 200 so I can only imagine how yours looks!
@@HuntFishShootChannel I wanted to see about how many rounds I can get before a malfunction. I normally don't do that. Lol
The thunder ranch is identical except for a QD socket and cerakote. Watch our review of this and the A300 and see how they stack up!
Personally im still happy i went with this over the a300
Glad to hear you like it 👍
I’m still running my 18.5” Beretta 1200(Police Choked) 6+1 Inertia Shotgun that I put an optic on and non-hollow stock on👉🏾super lightweight, accurate, fast rate of fire(loading port and bolt release button aren’t ideal but it’s worth the trade off)…I love it and I’ll run that thing till it dies(it won’t😂)…great review and digging your channel man👍🏾

Another great unbiased review. Production value of your videos is really getting good. It sucks YT suppresses 2A content because you roll out much more helpful and entertaining videos than a lot of the bigger name guntubers with the heavy sub counts
Thank you! We appreciate that and will continue to do so! Glad you are enjoying our content!
It's not the coatings but rather the new and improved gas system which consists of the spacer tube and gas piston. This is what keeps your shotgun running clean with less maintenance.
Nope, exact from mossberg is they put better coatings to reduce the fouling.
They could be, who knows
Glad to hear yours has been good!
Oh wow…well good to know!
Thanks for sharing!
Cant wait for the comparison 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Neither can we!
I agree with you 100 percent! Thanks for sharing!
I can’t believe you didn’t realize your unintentional dad joke as you were shooting slugs you said it feels a bit sluggish. 😢
😂 full of them
From what I've seen after looking at a lot of reviews, they are not all made equally. Mossbergs made mistakes on some and made others perfectly.
Certainly seems the case
Which means their Quality Control is garbage.....
Thanks for the review! I just picked up one of these a few weeks ago, same spec. I have the same handguard flexing issue, made me feel a little better to know I'm not the only one having this annoying issue.
Yeah it won’t go away regardless of assembly and disassembly for me. My gun is also not reliable
This is definitely something that should be brought to attention of Mossberg. Even the 1301 had its issues (Gen 1) when pressing the cartridge latch, it liked to eject multiple shells onto the carrier causing the gun to malfunction. All in All, great and honest video
I don’t think it’s a broken shotgun i think it performs like every other semi auto mossberg I have used, unreliable
I hated that fore end before I swapped it out for the MT Truckee…never liked backed
That’s great!
Never shut that gun before, but I don't trust that guy.
Is just a feeling.
You don’t have to trust me but you will pay to find out 👍
bro when youre talking about loading this shotgun being sluggish and slow, you are high LOL. you just need more practice. get better, that gun runs
The way the follower slides, the way the lifter opens and closes and the smoothness of the bolt running in the action is sluggish. It’s rough. I’m not high I just know shotguns can be better, ie something made by beretta, Benelli or Franchi
@@HuntFishShootChannel just giving you a hard time. I think they’re both good shotguns
Great! Happy to hear you have had a good experience!
Great Review Bro...
Thank you!
Good Lord, you sound like a Beretta salesman
I should be. I would happily do it for a product that is worth it
I got about 120 slugs through mine.
My gun is like this not matter what.
@@HuntFishShootChannel May have gotten a Turd :)

A300 is not available in my area…anywhere. I bought a 940 and I have no regrets.
My JM pro 930 was trash. I traded it in to pay off a suppressor. 1301 all the way
I think the issues your having may all be attributed to the cerakote.
Hmm interesting, thanks for the info!
You get to have all the fun !
Hahha sometimes!
Da gum! A LOT of jamming issues
Half aren’t even on camera!
@HuntFishShootChannel Do you think it's because of all the coating? Maybe they got some over spary inside
@jamesdelong6401 that’s entirely possible and would speak to the quality or lack there of I was seeing
I'm sorry if there are any spelling mistakes, !'m German ;)
I'm happy if you have any suggestions or recommendations for me that I could have a look at.
I’m looking forward to your comparison video.
We’re excited to share it!
IMHO this should be a $750 dollar rig. Especially when compared to turknellies.
Agreed!
@rElliot09 thanks for sharingn
Even one junk gun means the company sucks at making guns. Would you buy a car that even 1 in 1000 catches fire while parked in your garage???
@@vtxrecruiter Every gun company has failed guns, period. It is mechanical and mechanical things fail, guns, cars, aircraft, etc.
I have had mine for about six months and no issues with it at all. My favorite shotgun to date.
That’s great!
I think I’ll just get another 1301 or M2 tactical and call
It a day!
I have that exact model and I love it
That’s great!
Piss poor QC. The Italian made guns don't do that.
No they have not, definitely not in my experience
Lol, the A300 is made in Tennessee. No firearm is perfect.
@jdub2469er Very true sir, but the 1301 is made in Italia. Which would you rather have?
From someone who owns both the beretta 1301 mod 2 the A300 UP and also the mossberg 930 spx and 940 pro tactical. The mossberg semi autos are amazing guns and worth the money but the berettas are far superior to both mossbergs. I love all of them 🇺🇸🤙🏼💥
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
