The new Springfield Armory Model 2020 Boundary joins the popular Waypoint and Redline bolt action rifles for a more classic hunting rifle. With either long action or short action, the Boundary rifle will fit a hunters needs for a lightweight backcountry hunting rifle.
We review the 6.5 Creedmoor Boundary Rifle from Springfield and as was the case with their other rifles, its deadly accuracy. It’s guaranteed for sub MOA and ours demonstrated that with all the rounds we used. We tested it with Hornady Precision Hunter 6.5 Creedmoor, Federal Terminal Ascent 130 Grain 6.5 Creedmoor and Hornady American Whitetail. All the ammos were sub or half MOA Accurate. A smooth Remington 700 or R700 action clone with a trigger tech trigger is at the heart of this rifle. The rifle has an AG Composite Hunter stock.
We set this rifle up with the Vortex Razor HD LHT 4.5-22x50 scope, vortex precision rings and an MDT Bipod. All set up, this rifle weights less than 10 pounds. Let us know what you think of this rifle and let us know, would you pick a Bergara Carbon Wildnerness or Christensen Arms Ridgeline for less?

Praising Christensen arms rifles gives me great pause
Yeah, I hear more bad than good about Christensen Arms rifles. I like Tikka, Bergara, Seekins.
@chrisb9478 yep all of those are good!
Here’s what I can tell you about Christensen is within the 10 rifles I have been privy to, whether we own them or friends own them, all have been great.
I also do know the fired and removed and revamped their entire QC department and the company is also under new ownership as of mid last year.
right. and vortex
@nj-bz8pv and vortex? Yeah that’s not true but you believe that as well.
Love my RedLine. Great rifles.
Mine loves Norma 150grain.
Me too! Mine shoots the bonded tip strike norma and precision hunter very well!
Just bought a waypoint in 300 win mag with cf barrel and adjustable check rest on sale from cheaper than dirt for 1499 a few days ago
Hell yeah! Thats a great deal!
Paid $2200 at buds 3yrs ago for my prc…man what a steal..im comin on 600rds f nuclear handloads in mine and.need to borescope it to check er out.
@@charlesmullins3238 yea I was wondering if it was a mistake or if they were gonna cancel the order but it showed up at my FFL today. I wish they had a 7mm prc or 300 prc but i can’t complain
@blackhawkninjabeast that is awesome great rifle for the money!
@@blackhawkninjabeast try some super light v maxs in that baby if you handload…I run the 95gr in a prc case with h4350 and got 3666fps which was a tad warm but I still kept em at 3500 with minimal to no pressure signs..man they crack like thunder with that radial brake and you can just feel how hard that explosion is on the barrel/chamber so I’ve kept those to a minimum but what fun shootin jugs at 200-500yrds. I log those separate so I know how many over 3500 I’ve shot when that bsf carbon barrel shoots out..👊🏻
Beautiful gun, but that's too much cheddar. Bergara has my heart anyways
Those carbon wilderness rifles are frankly a steal compared to the others!
Also, after filming this, I’ve seen the Boundary going for 400-500 below MSRP
nice looking gun but yeah a fierce carbon rival or other options for the price for me
Yeah or even a Bergara!
Nice gun for sure, definitely on the higher end as far as price.
Sadly it didn’t live up to the 3/4 MOA guarantee. Your best group came in at .78 MOA.
No the best group was actually .56 MOA from terminal ascent and .80 MOA from the Precision Hunter. Not sure where you got your measurement from or procured it. I got mine from measuring with Ballistic X in person.
These 2020 series rifles are almost sleepers. They don’t get the attention of so many other brands. Why go custom when you can buy this for $1800 or less
Couldn’t agree more! You can find the steel barrel models often times for about 1500 as well!
In my small experience ( I own 10 ish rifles ) my 2020 is of the level of my much higher priced rifles. I think it is The value play not giving up anything. Big big fan. I am going to buy a second one . Just my two cents , I am not an expert at anything just a ranch owner shooter. JD
I couldn’t agree more. I think it’s absolute one of the top three factory rifles you can buy on the market. I have three of them and all three are .5 MOA or better guns!
I bought a slightly used Tikka TX3 stainless in 6.5 creedmoor, adjusted the trigger to around 2.5 lbs, mounted an old Leopold 1" scope and shot .5 groups ( 3 rounds) with random factory ammo all for $1000 CDN, that's value for $$$
That’s great! Tikka makes great rifles and we have reviewed a few of them! 💪
Pass the Tikka, and hold the fluff.
Tikkas are great rifles as well!
OUCH! My wallet just had a heart attack.
Yeah it ain’t cheap but it’s looking like street price is 2100
Nice rifle. What rear shooting bag is that?
Amazon special! One Tigris I believe
What caliber is that?
6.5 Creedmoor
He says it right at the start. I don’t get all these question people ask when they obviously don’t even watch the video
@@mikemellon80 I actually missed the very beginning of the video without realizing it, asked the question, then found out later that I missed the beginning. My bad.
Dope!!! 🔥🔥🔥
💥💥💥
I don’t understand going backwards and making a rifle with a “traditional” aka wrong style stock
Well it’s not wrong and it’s shooter preference on that. It’s for hunters and most hunters are very traditional
@@HuntFishShootChannelhow many people are taking off hand shots with iron sights. That’s what that stock design is for. Vertical grip and tall comb. That what the vast majority of people need. Whether they know it or not
In all fairness the new age fiber glass or carbon fiber stock with vertical and chassis system for hunting or even target shooting is fairly new in retrospect. You can shoot a standard Monte Carlo or sporter stock just as accurate but it’s definitely not as forgiving. Again, most hunters still prefer a sporter or modified sporter style, so that’s the purpose. Keep in mind the stock is built by AG Composites and obviously there is a huge draw for it.
@@HuntFishShootChanneloh I’m sure it’s a well made stock. I just bought a Bergara and when I mounted my scope I was an inch too low to see through it. I have an AG Alpine on order now. If you are using a scope (everyone) the sporter stock just outdated and a hindrance to good shooting
Bet you could get those groups to tighten up another tenth maybe more by putting it on a bag up front instead of the bipods!! They look like there bouncing every shot on that wood table and most every groups strung vertically!!
A similar point was made in the video, sorry you didn’t hear that!
Thanks for watching
Guys just don’t like to watch the entire video but still want to comment.
