- With the Unveiling at NAB 2024 this year one question that I have 5 months later is... Where is the Blackmagic Pyxis???
Business inquiries or needing a Cam Op in the SoCal area?

The Pyxis is like the chupacabra... everyone suspects it exists but no one has ever seen one
I’m here because I’m always looking for new Pyxis content since it’s taking forever 😂
You and me both… so frustrating
Hopefully it comes out soon
You are such a youtuber
I watched another video today that said almost the complete opposite as you. They acknowledge that it wasn't out yet, but they said there's gonna be massive demand and everybody's gonna love it. I literally laughed out loud when you talked about running the camera sideways though.. And the camera certainly is not for me. But it's so close It does kind of drive me crazy.
Don’t take this the wrong way, but at this point when so many people like myself are looking for any pyxis update or content, you upload a video titled “where is the blackmagic pyxis”, and the entire video is just you hating on blackmagic with absolutely nothing to say about why the delay is or any theory…. Just like…. What is even your point??
The fact is you are not the consumer for this product and it’s almost like saying Porsche is crap cause it is expensive and gets bad fuel economy 😂
Actually, relatively speaking fuel economy on most Porsches isn't bad.
Well ya they are light weight and overpowered for regular driving so the engine isn’t doing much work… but still, you’ve made quite the annoying video…
And…. Hopefully you’ll be proven wrong in the next couple weeks when it gets to customers and it’s great!
I can see how it could look that way, but my point was to express how we got left in the dark regarding the delays. I did give my theory on the delay in the video and while I may not be the target market for it, that does not make it immune to criticism.
But this is kind of my point, it’s not fair to say why is the monitor on the side because it’s not a monitor, and you know it, they gave us a fancy cinema camera that can compete with some of the best in the market, for dirt cheap and it’s not even out yet to criticize… that’s just hating.
To be fair, his channel name is True Narcissist, so it does fit the brand.
I contacted B&H Photo yesterday, and the information they gave me is as follow. 'The estimated date for when we expect to receive stock for the EF mount is September 29th and for the Arri PL is Sept 13th. There is currently no ETA for the Lecia
I ordered one. The TC in and SDI out are important features for me. The single XLR in isn’t a problem because in all three of my use cases; RODE Pro using mini jack, Sennheiser shotgun plugged right into camera, or location sound recordist feeding a scratch track into camera, the Pyxis can accommodate. I like the monitor on the side because I typically sit to the left of the camera when doing interviews. Plus it’s riggable and looks very solid.
I'm glad to hear that the Pyxis fits into your workflow really well. For me as a solo shooter who switches quickly from tripod to handheld, it just doesn't work. Hopefully, it comes out soon so you can kill it in the field!
@@True_NarcissistI do that too, and I think it’ll be fine for that purpose. Time will tell. I also have a CC6K and a Lumix S5iiX. Had the FX3/FX6 but didn’t like the shooting experience or grading flexibility and wanted a better menu system.
is your.. focus off?
They just announced a $300 monitor designed for the Pyxis using the usb C to to deliver video and power. Can’t complain about this anymore!
Sorry for the delay in responding to comments, busy week. It looks like most of the criticism stems from a miscommunication on my end regarding the specs I gave on some of the bmpccs. That's my bad as I should've directly stated which model I was referring to when talking about said specs. I did give my opinion on why it might've been delayed for so long towards the end of the video. Ultimately my point of the video was to express the frustrations many people feel regarding the delays, although it unintentionally came out as more of a hit piece. I'll be more conciious going forward as to how my videos can be perceived beyond my own personal context.
I contacted their support team, apparently even BlackMagic doesn't know when it will be released
Same question for the ursa cine 12 & 17k ,where the heck are they ?
How do they make the money on the software? You get the studio free with virtually any BM hardware purchase
The biggest drawback for me that it only shoots RAW, no other codec whatsoever. That will take a huge chunk of storage space. Why Blackmagic? Why?
Why are you ragging on the pocket cinema cameras, they deliver the most bank for the book of almost any camera out there and the image quality is spectacular. Who cares about anything else is your final image is beautiful. The rest is not.
bruh... its in his name....
So super35 is a small sensor?!??
I keep hearing pick 6
the pocket cameras have full size hdmi
Please name one real cinema camera that comes with batteries?!? Better yet one that comes with a real monitor. You obviously have never use the Blackmagic Camera.
Sigma Fp Cinema Camera
Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Entire Lineup
DJI Ronin 4D (If bought from DJI)
@@CallMeRabbitzUSVI In his video he is complaining that the Pyxis needs a monitor and my point is out side of blackmagic what
Traditional cinema camera comes with a monitor and a battery.
The sigma Fp is not a cinema camera lol and the 4d is an alien.
for someone talking about camera's your not sharp and there is no photo's that helps your story
This is a terrible video, all you did is complain.
I have my Pyxis 6K, contents coming soon.
That’s awesome to hear! Can’t wait to see what you have coming.
