I have made the Vali in double gauze. Comfy and great for me as I have narrow shoulders and very wide hips. So I can make a yoke to fit and not worry about the rest
Love these patterns and the super cool sleeve designs! I can see an art teacher or just edgy fashionista wearing these designs and not caring that it’s not tight or revealing. That confidence is sexy to me. Kudos to Pattern Fantasique to think outside the “box”!
The Ether Dress is beautiful. Rather than rope, a crochet cording or braid would be a great option. I really like this collection. Very nice. High end quality.
As an aussie... the cities mentioned are FREE-mantle (Freo pronouced FREE-o is also acceptable) and Mel-bin. It's nice to see other aussie designers get some some love :)
What impresses me here, besides the sleeves, is how well she drafts necklines. My local library charges .25 per page for printing, so if a pattern is 40 pages, the print pattern costs little more than the PDF and would be far more convenient. This level of design and glamour is what we are not seeing from the Big Four.
Sigh... These look absolutely dreamy - and not hard to make. That black and white flag-inspired skirt and top is my favorite! I can really see the glam rock and early 80's designer ethnic peasant roots in the dresses and blouses! This era was when I first started loving fashion magazine spreads so that nostalgia makes me want to snap up every one of these. The pants remind me of the high-end avant garde Japense designer cuts, so those would be fun to make and wear. Collections like this make me so glad to be able to sew.
Great review. I love the aesthetic and have bought the Phen shirt and Harmonic set. I think I'll make the Phen first. I need a special event in my calendar so I can make a gold Mersis dress like the one in the photos. Totally my vibe.
I have the Mersis top and have made it a few times. More an intermediate pattern for sure as it has a curved gusset that goes under the arm which definitely can be tricky to execute. The binding method on the sleeve is rather interesting as well! I gave up on that and used my normal application. I love the pattern, it is very unique but definitely not beginner friendly. And as an Aussie myself, a skivvy is a tight turtle neck long sleeve top 😊
I must be way too old for this designer. I prefer my clothes to skim my body and give me a more tailored look. As I am petite, these oversized tent dresses, tops and sleeves would definitely be wearing me instead of the other way around. I personally found that many of the dresses reminded me of the nightgowns that we used to wear years ago when I was a child. Even though this is not my design aesthetic, I appreciate that we all like to dress differently and I’m happy for that!
Buckram isn't that obscure - they sell it in the interfacting section of Joann's. It's white ans looks like cross-stitch fabric. I know you've seen it!
These are soooo beautiful. Each pattern has an element of design/ cut that truly elevates the end result. 👏 💕💕💕
Vali dress is amazing!
I love all of these! Want to have them all 😅
I’ve heard of them and browsed the patterns but forgot how much I loved them until your review!
Fallopian tubes - ha! First thing I noticed as well. Lovely sleeves on these patterns.
omg the fallopian tube drawing! LOL!
I'm really enjoying this review!
Love this, fantastic!
Love this designer and her creations! Thank you for reviewing this!

Oh my god. I want to make all of it
Yes a skivvy is also known as a turtle neck.

I loved a lot of these! However, I know my boyfriend wouldn't like them - he hates it when I wear super baggy things. :(

My body would look really frumpy in the pants.
