Oh my gosh, thank you so much, Julia, for mentioning my channel. “The Queen of Backgrounds!” I love that! 😂 I love your journals. I have one I bought from you years ago and it’s still as beautiful and sturdy after working in it as it was the day it arrived. Thank you again for the mention and for sharing your beautiful free motion stitching on journal covers. Have a great day! ❤
What a fun, creative cover! I don’t know about free motion stitching, but guessing that’s a special feature of your machine?? I really like that! Thanks for sharing ❤
Hi, Most all sewing machines can free-motion. You need a free-motion quilting foot or darning foot that fits your machine. The feed dogs also need to be disengaged. Some machines have a lever to lower the dogs, others have a plate to cover them. I hope you give free motion a try. It's really fun!
Another fun project Julia! Thank you! I got some practice using free motion stitching just a few days ago! I'm making a fox rag blanket for my grandbaby and he has 3 middle names so I stitched ALL his names, his birthdate and time of birth on the fox's tail! It came out really cute. Thank you for teaching me free motion stitching! ❤ You are the best! Brenda 💐
What a wonderful project! Wow- I'm so glad you are enjoying free-motion! Our lake cabin is on Fox Lake, so I love to collect Fox things! Have a great day, Julia
Hi Julia , I am such a follower of your fabulous imagination 💚 You have used heat and bond ultra in between the cover and the lining , but it says it is not sewable on the package and all the RUclipss , and yet you did ? Did you have any problem sewing through it ?
HI, I do not have problems with sewing through the UltraHold Heat-n-Bond. However, I only use a simple straight stitch or zigzag not a Also, if your needle starts to gum up or your thread starts to break, clean your needle with rubbing alcohol. Also there are teflon needles that can help. Thanks so much for watching. I really like adding the UltraHold because it gives the fabric stiffness-great for a journal cover. Julia
@@stitchesbyjulia Thank you so much , I will try it , I did buy the big ass 5 yard roll . Also bought the Derwent pencils ! 😁My heart sank when it said no sew . Love love love your videos .
Julia, I am not into journeying, but adding the fabric to the cover could be translated on to a sweatshirts, jeans, jean jackets, and lots more.. Thank you for sharing.

Will you have any of these covers back in your Etsy shop soon? TY 😊
Hopefully next month. My Etsy Store really hurts in the summer:)

Yes! This would make a great fabric collage technique for clothing.
