It really is a shame Ubisoft missed the boat on a samurai AC game. The past few years have been PACKED with samurai games (Nioh 1 & 2, Sekiro, Ghost of Tsushima) and now they’ll be a follower instead of the trendsetter.
Samurai means, literally means, “to serve.” So a samurai is simply one who serves. He just so happens to serve as a soldier. To Serve in defense of your community. Therefore, Jin does not betray his honor. For he fights for his homeland.
Yet his tactics defy the samurai code thats why its considered dishonourable, but it depends on how u look at it the samurai in this game are based on the one in edo era
One of the best games I've played yet. Absolutely beautiful. The storyline and side missions are amazing, the graphics gorgeous, the music absolutely fantastic. There's so much more I can say on how beautiful the game is. I'm so happy I got it.

I do love the touch that Jin is still voiced by a Japanese descent actor for English even if you choose English it feels believable if that makes sense
The story is going to be great. A human drama of how Jin falls into becoming a Ghost (冥人), a man from the dead; doesn't adhere to rules; a wandering man who lost everything. Samurai are trained to fight with honor, a very strict set of rules. For example, stealth killing is definitely not allowed (i.e. ninjas are a NO! for samurai). Since he "died" once and he is filled with a vengeful rage and feels desperate, he engages in these dishonorable fighting methods, hence his mentor warning him of the path he is taking.
This is actually false. The devs took many liberties for the sake of the story. But this is a work of fiction. In reality there were actually many samurai who were also ninjas - and vice versa. Samurai employed all sorts of tactics to defeat their enemies. Including those of "theatricality and deception".

Honor is in fact taken to account by the samurai but not in this game since it was set in the Kamakura period where samurai didn't follow a code, they only followed orders and they will do anything to full fill it. Honor however was followed during the Edo period which is I think 200+ more years than the Kamakura period ( correct me if I'm wrong ).

Well they had an in game road map years ago in one of the AC games and it showed a ton of locations some we never seen in AC and so far a lot of them actually came out and Japan was one of them so probably after the Viking one

@@TwoTymez96 Well having seen the leaks, it's just another Origin/Odyssey Reskin with unrealistic combat or atleast not being consistent with what the original AC mustered. AC used to be about killing your enemies stealthily or with finesse now they're stuck up with Warrior themes and saturated RPG mechanics.
Just finished the game today! What a masterpiece! Laughed and cried and got addicted to the combat mechanism. Can't wait to play more games from Sucker Punch and ready to jump into the legend multiplayer mode.
The rage on Jin's face as he delivers the honour died on the beach line, and the music crescendo immediately afterwards, hits different after your first playthrough.

Nice to know that the English voice acting is on point. But just like with Sekiro, I'm definitely going to play this game with the Japanese voice acting. As a huge fan of Akira Kurosawa it only feels right to experience it that way.

Steven Murphy now that’s my jam. Put 500 hours into Bloodborne, 200 ish into ds3 and 100 each into ds1 & 2. Currently playing demons souls for the first time. Not played hollow knight. Looking to try that sometime.
This game is amazing. It hits on every cylinder. Gameplay, voice acting, story, art. Everything is top notch, this should’ve been game of the year easily.

Playing these historical games, stepping into the world of other cultures makes you appreciate everyone and everything , everyone’s differences . @TheOutkast4ever agreed. Played nioh 1 halfway and dropped it immediately. Couldnt tolerate with the tedious looting mechanics and cheap boss fights. Sekiro is indeed challenging but not to the point to being unforgiving. (Except for Isshin the saint,took me almost 40 tries to beat that fcker. ) And since nioh 2 will more or less the same as the original title with new mininal features, probably gonna pass and spend on ghost of tsushima instead
Try Metal Gear Rising, it's a parry-based character action game made by Platinum Games (Bayonetta, NieR Automata) and it's amazing. The setting is very different tho.

Nice to know that the English voice acting is on point. But just like with Sekiro, I'm definitely going to play this game with the Japanese voice acting. As a huge fan of Akira Kurosawa it only feels right to experience it that way.

This game is amazing. It hits on every cylinder. Gameplay, voice acting, story, art. Everything is top notch, this should’ve been game of the year easily.

I just finished it ❤️ this game is so so so beautiful I cried at the end 😂 lol. Playing these historical games, stepping into the world of other cultures makes you appreciate everyone and everything , everyone’s differences . The music and sceneries were sooo majestic and celestial ❤️ masterpiece game. Beautiful cultures. It was also a challenge , I just wish it was a little longer than it was!!

@TheOutkast4ever agreed. Played nioh 1 halfway and dropped it immediately. Couldnt tolerate with the tedious looting mechanics and cheap boss fights. Sekiro is indeed challenging but not to the point to being unforgiving. (Except for Isshin the saint,took me almost 40 tries to beat that fcker. )
And since nioh 2 will more or less the same as the original title with new mininal features, probably gonna pass and spend on ghost of tsushima instead
