Weasels, gremlins, and a tunnel of trees. Creepy fog on blood mountain. I love the time laps of clouds! And the mountain laurels. Thank you for sharing this trip with us along with the wonders you see. 🕷🍁🍂🍃
Beautiful picture of alum root at 1:47 - the leaves turn that reddish color in the fall and the new leaves that you will see coming in as you go North, will be green. Sometime in PA or NJ you will see them blooming (I think). The green tunnel at 4:45 is rhodendron (big leaves) and mountain laurel (smaller leaves) which are evergreen. You'll see them bloom in VA or MD maybe PA (depends on how fast you go).
trail talk is the best! some of the things that come up, and are laughed at 🤦🏻♂️ i was through hiking 🥾 pictured rocks michigan last summer.. i had been playing the new zelda before the hike.. a few times i could picture different characters from the game on the trail 😆 its weird how stumps and trees start looking like things 👀🫣
I still regret not slack packing the stairs on Day 0 (I stayed at the lodge before starting my 2017 thru.) There's something about that first stretch that gets lots of people sick (myself included.) I bypassed Blood Mountain on a blue blaze due to bad weather and I think I got some bad water on the alternate. Had to spend an extra day in a motel to recover.
I live close enough to Mountain Crossings that I occasionally drive there just to take in the AT vibe. I have wanted to venture into Raven's Wilderness, but I rarely hear anything about it from AT-ers. When Radio got sick, were ya'll behind the store in Raven's Wilderness area? It looked so foggy and scary there! Goodness what a night to remember! I hope you feel better and Radio you need to take Probiotics to help your gut flora! Get some! ❤
When he was sick we were about .2 miles north of Hogpen Gap, so if I remember correctly that was about 7 miles north of Mountain Crossing. Hope you get to go out to Ravens Wilderness soon!!
I noticed the young lady is wearing brooks hiking shoes. Which brand is he wearing? I have wide feet (size 12/2E) so brooks work better for myself. But when I go buy some hiking shoes I will check out vrooks/ altras & hokas to see which ones feel better through the toe box.
I'm wearing Brooks Adrenaline! They're actually just running shoes, not trail runners, because my feet overpronate and we chose these to correct for that! Hope you find some shoes that work for you!
Sisters are either the harshest critics or the most generous critics. Thanks for sharing your adventures! So fun to see!

I'm watching and with you in spirit!
I hope Radio felt better quickly -- food poisoning is awful. I look forward to future videos. You guys are inspiring!

Have a great hike!
Food poisoning not fun 😞 Hope to see you on down the trail. Happy Hiking!! 🙂
Y'all are very adorable! 😘 Allen says to look out for Bigfoots down there. 🦧
The bushes that a lot of people mistake for rhododendrons are mountain laurels. They are pretty the way they are all curvy branches.
