Love em. While I'm a metalhead I dated a punk girl in the late 70's & early 80's & she dragged me to Madam Wong's in Hollywood to see punk bands all the time. Otoboke Beaver is 100% the type of band you got there. Crazy AF and just entertaining.
Seen OB in Boston a few months ago at The Royale. Fabulous show. A must see act!
I just found them last year, and went on to see them live 6 times that year. I will continue to see them every chance I get ❤
They were at NPR for a tiny desk concert a couple of months ago and performed an eight song set in lightning fashion (on YT). NPR will never be the same.

They did Tiny Desk for NPR (say what?) and two in-studio performances for KEXP (Indy radio) in Seattle, on top of regular touring.

Shows are great !
They come to the US all the time. They have gone from the west coast to the east coast twice since late 2022. They will probably be back really soon. They played Atlanta a couple months ago, but I had to miss them. They play a lot of small towns.
They’re going to be in either Columbus or Cincinnati on July 24, I believe.

Otoboke means 'feigned ignorance' and is matched with 'Beaver' because (apparently) there's other meanings to that word apart from furry cuties that eat wood!
The name is from a 'love hotel' near where one of them went to school. I don't think 'beaver' has the same connotations in Japan by the way!
@@ICT17 I was just rrepeating what I read in an interview with them where they were asked about theirchoice of name and that was their answer.
@@tonygriffin_ I'd say they were just playing around with the interviewer there - or maybe they're just worried about getting sued! There's actually a few Otoboke Beaver love hotels throughout Japan, they can be googled.

After this I went to their YT channel and tried a couple other "songs". Sorry, I don't get the appeal.
OK, I have only seen the name before. Strange name. First time listening. Kind of overwhelming. Fun though. One wonders if they have some variations on their songs.
