- A money mystery in Marysville has police trying to figure out where nearly $40,000 came from. More than $25,000 was found in the restroom at the Avalon Theatre on Saturday, and then, Thursday night, more than $12,000 was found in the restroom at a KFC restaurant on Delaware Avenue.

I found a family's vacation money while they were on vacation, roughly 7K. They didn't offer me a dime. I wouldn't have taken any "reward" but it should have at least been offered bc they would have been so screwed had I not given it back. I'll never do that again either.

My ex got screwed up on meth, & lost 10k, and had been in 3 hotels that day, & wanted me to drive him around to help find it. He was too scrambled brains to drive himself. @@Jacksonville_Phil it's a risk but unless they had eyes on you or magical powers, there's honestly no way. Unless they were there was footage on any kind of CCTV that they were able to get access to and then also external recording of the parking lot including your vehicle and license plate and from there if they had a friend inside the DMV or could work internet mojo if your paperwork was up to date and currently accurate, could track you to your home.... I mean it's doable but they're not the FBI and unless they have the right friends in the right place I just think it's a stretch. I'm not saying I want to mess with those types I'm just saying, if I was in that situation I would be sorely tempted. You would just be a random nobody and like I said unless they had the connections I stated, I don't see how they would ever be able to find you.
Especially if you used the money to quickly buy larger purchases in order to turn the money over just to be safe. And if you wanted cash again you could easily sell them.... IE cars etc....
Caution is always justified around outlaw types but I don't know... I'd have to do a lot of thinking if I found myself in that situation. I sure as hell not turn it into authorities I can tell you that right now. Unless I knew it was some ordinary person's life savings I would be definitely weighing the pros and cons of taking it.

Anyone who says that they would keep the money doesn't realize that each bills serial number is recorded by the bank they were delivered to as well as by the armored truck service that delivered them. There's a large paper trail that tracks each bill from the time of printing until the time they were stolen or withdrawn. Keeping and using stolen cash can cause more trouble than you think.
Unless you're on video and you're holding it over your head, nobody can prove you're the one that walked out with it from that bathroom. If you go by a car with it and pay cash unless for some reason the car lot is suspicious you have crooked money on you and report you, which is very unlikely most of the time they wouldn't care because they want to make a sale, they're just going to take your money.
I would just buy a couple cars with it several months apart, not too flashy, store one or both of them, and then eventually sell both of them. Clean money.
