- Blade Runner 2033: Labrinth takes place in 2033, squarely between the original film Blade Runner and the sequel, Blade Runner 2049, and set in a dystopian Los Angeles after the Blackout hits. The game will be the first title from Annapurna Interactive's internal studio led by game director, Chelsea Hash (Solar Ash, What Remains of Edith Finch, Radiohead's Kid A Mnesia Exhibition).
This will be the first new Blade Runner game for PC & Console in 25 years.

Make it philosophically deep, brutally neodark and immensely detailed. And you've got the crowd.
Agreed. I’d love it if it had some of the same spirit as Observer as far as narrative and philosophy goes.
It’s from the creators of What Remains of Edith Finch, one of the best written games I’ve ever played. That’s more than enough to sell me on this
And make sure the pacing is as slow as the films so that every character has some time to properly develop. Blade Runner works because it is a slow burn detective noire.
Seems to take some inspiration from the Cyberpunk Psychological Horror Game "Observer" in which you jack into the terrified, fractured psyche of murderers & their victims; in some cases reliving distorted moments of their lives. Was a pretty great game in terms of atmosphere tbh
Make a cinematic trailer with no game play and you got a crowd
Not nearly enough bladerunner games in the world.
There is non
@doomslayerforever2858 Westwood made a Blade Runner point and click game in the 90's.

I'll say it again here, Annapurna is the A24 of video game industry. They always pick the best indie studios as well as creating fresh concept internally.
Outer Wilds is maybe my favourite game of all time, and since then, Annapurna has never missed
@@forumtroll117 Twelve Minutes has entered the chat.
What remains of edith finch was one of the best games ever created tbh.
Devolver is the adult swim
Annapurna Game's parent company is actually Annapurna Pictures. They don't have the track record per film that A24 does, but they have no shortage of Oscar and Golden Globe nominations and wins in their own right.
Annapurna Interactive was never the company I'd think to make a Blade Runner game but now looking at a game like Stray it makes perfect sense. And it's a match made in heaven.
Same publisher, different development team
@@MuffinManProductions3DAnnapurna is developing this in-house.
is it?
Annapurna did better than Cyberpunk on Stray in terms of world design
@@marcus_afk That sounds about as great as "EA is developing this in-house". When publishers start developing, you shouldn't get your hopes up.
The world of blade runner is ripe with potential for interactive and narrative driven games, blade runner 2049 is one of the best sci-fi movies ever conceived, and depending on what kind of angle this takes, Labyrinth could be a masterwork in mystery and intrigue where games like Heavy rain tremendously fail.
Heavy rain didn't fail. It has it's share of fans.
The original Blade Runner (1982) is better. 2049 is great, but not masterpiece like the original movie...
@@theloner6063 both are amazing, let's just leave it at that
Heavy Rain didn't fail lol. It's got a huge cult fanbase.
@@theloner6063i actually prefer 2049. But both are masterpieces in my opinion.
Fun fact, a huge inspiration for Ridly Scott for the design and backdrop of Blade Runners cities was inspired by a local town of mine "Middlesbrough" It's very industrial, has loads of factory towers constructed everywhere with fumes, lights and warehouses. Comically the locals are called "Smoggies" because of all the industiral fumes etc.
Very cool to see and hits home for the Northerner in me.
Where is Middlesbrough located? I’d love to look this up
@@thatniggainthealley1It’s in North Yorkshire, England
You own the town?
Fact you, No way!
Just googled this and it seems like it was a steelworks near Middlesbrough that inspired him- not the city in particular. Looks like the steelworks mostly got demolished in 2022?
Damn, Blade Runner on PC was one of my favorite games as a kid. Can't wait for this.
Replayed it not too long ago, still holds up well
It is going to blow!
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... Time to die.
I’m a massive fan of this franchise. I’m so glad we’re getting games set in the universe!
do you get to be herrson ford??
I’d love to see a Blade Runner spinoff movie that takes place in New York
Finally a new game. The first one was so amazing.
Hoping 2033 is to Blade Runner what Isolation was to Alien. Looks promising.
this new game that just dropped called aliens dark descent is to aliens what isolation was to alien, recomend to check it out
No wants birds eye few for a blade runner game sheesh. Why would they go 2D over 3D nah 😂
@@Bigmellow_ Yeah, it ain't made for you chief. It's an amazing game, even with the camera view. Puts Fireteam Elite, Colonial Marines, and AVP2010 to shame.
@@IrisCorven sorry but no one in the actual fanbase of aliens really needs an xcom game, let alone the fact we dont need top downs in 2023 anymore.
what they should've done, is reinvent what marines are. tired of seeing the same 'nam aesthetic for over 30 years.
@@leonardohoffmann6845 No, its NOT.
The first bladerunner game is one of the all time greatest point and click games with such awesome diverging storylines based on the clues you find, decisions you make, and even the speed you play.
If this comes close to that, it could be incredible.
NEED MORE BLADE RUNNER GAMES
1982 Blade Runner would be an amazing place to explore in a game. Still optimistic. Imagine doing a Voight-Kampff test LA NOIRE style
It may be too early to say but it definitely looks like they've nailed the "feel" of the movies, visually and musically
Interlinked.
How does it feel to hold the hand of someone you love? Interlinked
If its a La Noir style game this will be THE game for me
Vangelis's incredible ambiance seems to be well captured here
If one Studio can make a great Cyberpunk Game than its definitely Annapurna after showing Stray! Fully into it and I'm waiting for more!
Yes. Its already better than Cyberpunk 2077 (30 Metacritic lol), Deus Ex, Ghostrunner, etc. Only Annapurna can make a great Cyberpunk Game.
@@exysa2798Cyberpunk isnt bad
@@gehmalbierholenlol7076great job smelling the sarcasm!!!
Annapurna is the publisher of Stray, not the developer. Stray was made by Blue Twelve Studio and this is being made by Annapurna's internal studio, which have yet to prove themselves. I'm excited for this but I'm just stating facts here.
@@exysa2798 lol Deus Ex? The original Deus Ex and Human Revolution are one of the best cyberpunk games ever made.
These guys will nail Bladerunner 100%
Stray was awesome 👌
As an LA native it was really cool seeing an abandoned Union Station being portrayed in the Blade Runner universe
As an native from planet Earth it was really cool seeing an abandoned Union Station being portrayed in the blade runner universe
Cool seeing? Why? It's abandoned, isn't it?
Cautiously optimistic. Always thought a developer like Quantic Dream or Telltale Games would be a great fit for a Blade Runner game, but Annapurna has a pretty solid track record so far that lends itself to this.
agree those two studios never disappoint. I'm dying for a modern blade runner AAA game.
gamer
If Rick isn’t in the game it’s going to be horrible.
Damn I'm so happy it sounds like they're keeping the music similar to the movies
So cool we're getting a game from 10 years in the future! Annapurna always delivers.
0:43 are those steel arches the same as the set of "SOLDIER", starring Kurt Russell?!
Blade runner films are my favourite! Huge push to make a game in the same light .
Very exciting, hope the dark neo futuristic vibe is captured with an epic soundtrack to match
Ryan Gosling simulator 🗿
The movies were awesome and this game is gonna expand on the Blade Runner universe even more. I’m so hyped!
You can't even say this looks cliche cause Bladerunner literally invented this genre of sci-fi
No, actually the novel neuromancer by william gibson did
@@surrealsoupuniverseBlade Runner came before.
Yeah Syd Mead did a monstrous job on it
You come across a trailer for an upcoming blade runner game, you haven't been this excited since you played the 97 westwood version, somebody offers a bootleg version for free
music gives me chills, love the atmosphere
This better have either a depressing end or a philosophical one
Both
There better be a unicorn too 😁
They made a cinematic trailer, very nice. Now could we see some of the actual gameplay?
bro it just got announced be a lil patient T_T
Love how that first shot is a tribute to all the Blade Runner ambient videos!
Please be what Cyberpunk wasn't
Blade runner 2049 is my favorite movie ever so this game has absolutely peaked my interest and I’m very excited for it
Looks cool so far! More noir games the better. The VO sounds a little forced, as if reading an audio book (not to be rude, just some critique 😊). Mood is 👌
Blade Runner: literally me the game
Literally Me Starter Pack :
Looking forward to seeing more. Especially the gameplay
looks interesting ! in these days, not many games look this deep and mature. love the atmosphere, looking forward for gameplay.
damn we gotta wait 10 years -___-
Annapurna is one special studio.
Well this was unexpected. You've got my attention tho. Curious to see what the devs can pull off with this IP. Hoping for the best.
This needs on online multiplayer where you can be a blade runner or a replicant. Blade runners get guns but can’t break laws. Replicants have super strength and can break laws.
This will be the second coolest 2033 game ever
The first and please don’t say cyber punked 2077

@@KC_604You do know that 7 and 3 are not the same numbers, right?
Very aesthetically artistic level design truly capture the AI driven dystopian future of a society.
It's too bad they couldn't get Harrison Ford to do a voice-over for the trailer. The voice alone as Decker would sell the game
Hit the man where it hurts, why dontcha ;D Ford hated the voice-over in the original cut with a passion.
Black & Decker
"Sushi..."
after all these years we finaly get a new balde runner game 😭😭😭
Dopee is that Ed Norton’s voice?
That was my first thought
Exactly! My first impression as well
The world needs this right now
What type of game is it going to be? "Walking simulator", virtual novel, point-and-click, rpg (hopefully with full character creation), rpg like the Witcher with established character, rogue-lite...? Lots of questions :D
You asked one question
Hoping it's just "Observer: Blade Runner Edition". Had enough of non-action properties being turned into action properties. Give me a proper story-based detective thriller game set in the Blade Runner universe.
Lets be real a small part of us hoped cyber punk would fill a small void in our hearts for the hope of a game replicating the feel of blade runner
So what kinda game is this gonna be?
survival strategy mmo
Blade runner deserves to be a long running franchise idc what anyone says it’s too amazing not to be explored
Releasing on 2033
Wow. Observer 2 looks great.
Well then.....
🔥
So, what type of game will this actually be? First person, third, isometric, something else?
Looks incredible
They need to get the music right for this to be successful. Critical to the atmospherics is MUSIC.
Aí sim! Ansioso pra esse. Tomara que tenha aquela vibe do filme

Annapurna + director of What Remains of Edith Finch. Looking forward to this one
What a great trailer. Love the atmosphere.

Another slow burn atmospheric dark and eerie emotionally draining genre redefining trope subverting Annapurna-released masterpiece!
is it dead now?
If it comes from Annapurna, I'm hopeful
Why don't they just release gameplay trailers? This does nothing for me.

If this is some sort of love child between Cyberpunk 2077 and Outer Wilds... Oh baby.
Its already better than Cyberpunk 2077, Deus Ex, Ghostrunner, etc.
@@exysa2798Deus Ex is great shut your mouth
Wonder what kind of gameplay this will have - color me intrigued until that ganeplay trailer comes out lol
Also, if the aesthetics/tech hit on a blend of 2049's 'advancement' on the original's, it's already up a couple of notches in my book
If it actually has the right vibe and is truely open we might have goty
This is very far from enough to go on to know that haha. As is, I'm more reserved than optimistic about this.
Blade Runner Labyrinth!
Best mashup ever!
I'm totally playing this as Jareth.
Annapurna getting better by the day
Please please please don’t be ANOTHER third person over the shoulder game. Make it like the old blade runner game for PC with RNG replicants, looking for clues while questioning people and a cool murder case to solve. Don’t make it a crappy action shooter… focus on DETECTIVE mechanics!
It's obviously going to be a survival horror battle royale MOBA with brick breaker extraction shooter elements.
It's not a AAA game so ofc it will most likely be a 2D side scrolling detective game or something.
This might be the Cyberpunk we all need
Real or Fake?
Real, they just announced it.
Fake
Human or replicant?
Only 10 yrs away fro the dystopian future you all look foward to
Looks absolutely stunning.
"Memory reboot" its the perfect song for the trailer...
looks great, blade runner movies had great atmosphere, story and music, hopefully it's not nowadays typical zombie game because he says 'the land of the dead'
an actual game with a storyline and cutscenes? I'm already interested

Time traveler from the actual 2033 here, this is basically accurate. Lolz
If this was in VR it would be awesome.
