I’ve been welding for 28 yrs now. When I had my rig I had a Lincoln pipeliner I would only use that machine for big jobs. When I did little side jobs I had a Lincoln ranger. It was good to have 2 machines. Your starting off right bro you got a good head on your shoulders. Burn them rods. Keep learning cus learning will never stop. LEARN AND EARN. I’m 52 now, now I want to drive an 18 wheeler in my second part of life. You take care and god bless you. ✌🏼out.
Been watching for about a month now badass vids bro I’m here in Houston too I got a little business called big boy detailing you should let me get your rig and your camaro looking right free of charge just trying to pay back for you making good vids
That makes a big difference with how the boss views you if u stay and produce when u know it’s your last day. Says a lot about u as a person too. Best of luck bro.
Got laid of a few months ago from the work over rigs and just got a call for some possible work today so hopefully it works out. Prayers and support to all the homies keep yalls heads up 🤘🏾

Hey love the videos got a ? For ya need advice about how can guys who’ve been to prison and been welding for 10 years now can get in the loop for work!? Hard to pass the disa background checks, etc. !? Again your videos are awesome brother!!! Thanks
I was thinking about moving to Texas to get some welding in because I hurd that’s where it’s at but I also met a Texas welder out here in Cali that said he moved out here because there’s more work here now but it is way cheaper out there too, any good areas you suggest moving too where welding is booming for rig welders, I’ve got about 5 years of experience doing it now but most of it is shop work and I’m try to build my own rig soon so I figure I need more field work experience
@@TheWeldLab In Canada the Rangers 305s are very poplular you see 10 rangers to every classic or SA...small inch big inch guys are running them.. tig guys... they are cheap too one third the price of the classics...they called them lawnmower machines when they first came out...now everyone has em....
You know what I hate haters bro I just got a job fabrication shop getting $18 hr and they pay 10-99 . Gives me a weld test pass and only three days of work
Hey man I’m 18 years old still in highschool bought me a 225 bobcat welder learning how how to measure and weld I want to get in the pipelines and advice? Im thinking of going to TSTC to study but I’m not to sure Definitely got a sub from me 💯
If you are in high school and already have access to the tools of the trade you are ahead of the game. Sign up to get your associates degree in welding from a local college. Then practice practice practice. Make your practice the highest of quality, everything you do make it the highest quality you are capable of. You are worth the amount of time you have spent mastering your craft. If you put yourself in the mindset of top quality work everything else in your job will come easy. I’m 23 so I’m only a few years ahead of where you are at rn. I’m a stainless tig welder but it’s all the same among well paying welding jobs. It’s about showing them they are paying for your top quality welds.
@@jacobcarolan1172 thanks man I’ll probably go to TSTC and get the associates degree like you said I welded on dads tractor bucket it had a big crack in the middle and I welded it good and it hasn’t broke and my dad uses it to push logs and heavy brush. I’ve done a lot more things but I’m still trying to learn more for higher quality
Well if u were asked to be laid off from work, that is not bad finding another job the following day, I am lots worse as u are, I have been looking for a welding job in the UK, nobody wants me, I have 7 lists of welding qualifications, most I heard some agency confess telling me the truth because of my disability, age and lack of experience that is why nobody wants me.
Yeah I never said I stay with the same company year round, sometimes I'll leave for better pay & other times the projects come to an end so they have no reason to keep me until they get the next project. I said I don't stay unemployed for long since I show that I'm willing to work. I've only been out of a job for like 2-3 weeks this entire year and most of my jobs come from companies I've worked for before or an old coworker that gets me on where they're at.
Only one welder needed, fair enough they will keep the best weld and get rid of the rest. It is easier to baffle with BS and ba wilder with brilliance.
That’s not the case. They usually keep seniority or the weld boss/supers closest friend. I’ve been a rig welder in the oil/gas field for 2 years and have yet to see them go by the best welders when it comes to layoffs.
Must be really embarrassing when you're name and reputation isn't enough to ensure that you have a job. I need contacts, yea, I'm sure that will take care of all my problems. Just gotta have more contacts.
You young welders are way too cocky! No wonder you're always looking for a new job. I've got more work than I'll ever be able to do, and I'm pushing 60. I say no more, can't even diagnose a problem with his own welder.
