I'm a dad and I got my X100V 2 years ago... not a pro 'tog. So... I quickly sold off my entire Sony system. It's the only dedicated camera I have (besides my iPhone). It's brilliant. The limitations of a 35mm and being able to use SOOC JPGs is the freedom with the X100. I grab it, and go. I don't sweat which lens, or how heavy it is, or anything... and yeah, I take pictures. And I love it. Fuji just fits me. My dad was always a Fuji fan in his lifetime. I rarely saw him shoot any other digital camera. He knew. I still have his OG X100, I won't part with it... even though I love the creature comforts of the V.
I’ve had my X100V for a year now and couldn’t agree more … it’s brilliant! Had to wait seven months for delivery from Fuji but at least I only paid the MSRP. I use the ND filter often and how about that leaf shutter … amazing capability when using the flash in daylight! 📷🙂
just bought one and took it out today. i walked around with it on and it did start to over heat in hot Asia weather after a while. you take nice photos with it for sure! thanks.
5:55 I’d caution about beating cavalier about the weather sealing. Damage from the elements may be cumulative where the effect from the lack of weather sealing may come later.
This is true, I did make sure I fully dried it and aired it out afterwards and it was back in February but it’s a very good point. As I mentioned, for the most part I have the filter on anyway to combat this 👍🏼
I looked at X100 range a few years ago, but in the end I went with Olympus EM1 and then Leica M. Leica Q2 is expensive , but when you consider what it does, how it does it, and it has a superlative £4000.00 lens stuck at the end of it, it starts to look like a bargain, in Leica terms Of course.
I agree. I have had Leica film cameras for a very time, M2, M3 and M6 so when I went for Leica M it was just a matter of paying for the body as I already had a few Leica lenses. The body even, was used otherwise there was no way I could afford any of them these days. Absolutely unreachable for normal photographers. A new M6 body costs just shy of £4900.00 these days, and add to that the price of a lens and then film and processing. A roll of Portra 400 including processing is nearly £30.00 , about 90p for each exposure nearly £2.50 for 6X6. . What have they done to this craft? I remember when I used to buy Kodak Vericolour III for £3.50 a roll, Kodachrome was £ 8.00 or so which included processing. Fuji Acros was just shy of £25.00 for a pack of 10, and I still have a box 50 sheets of 4X5 TMY-2 with the price on it, £ 34.90. I bought it from what was Calumet in Manchester. A box of 10 sheets of TMY-2 costs £55.00 last time I looked at it.@@AndrewMclean

Absolutely, that’s exactly why I love it so much! Thanks for watching! 🙌🏼

Yeah I’ve occasionally used the ND and the flash but not comprehensively enough to include in the video! Thanks so much for watching! 🙌🏼
In a parallel universe where Tyson Fury is a photographer.. 😂
Haha I get this so often 😂

Thanks so much! Hope you enjoy using yours and the overheating isn’t an issue for you!

Who dat handsome devil on that mountain. Whaaaaaat.
Had to drag him up there he was flagging a third of the way up!!!
Got my interest!
Would be ideal for a biker!
Thx for the vid - what pro mist strength are you using ? I’ve got the 1/4 for nighttime but find it too strong for daylight
Thanks! I use the 1/8 for everyday use, agreed that it’s a bit too dramatic using the 1/4 in daylight!

The Leica Q2 is the camera I covet the most I just cannot justify the cost of it 😢

Good to see you enjoying shooting for yourself Andy, so easy to lose that when you’re shooting for a living
Thanks Gaz and yeah definitely, it’s why I originally turned to shooting film!
