  • This is a compilation of upscaled 8K footage that I’ve shot over the past 4 years from South Africa. All of it was shot on Blackmagic Design cameras, ranging from the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, Pocket Cinema Camera 6k, the URSA Mini 4K/4.6K/Pro and G2. The footage was upscaled to 8K to maximise the quality you’re able to see (especially on RUclips) but if you've got an 8k TV, it will definitely look amazing!
Cameras & the gear used to make the video:
    ✅ Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro G2 4.6k
✅ Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6k
    ✅ Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6k
    ✅ Blackmagic URSA Mini 4k
✅ Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k
✅ Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens
    ✅ Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 Sport Lens
    ✅ Edelkrone Focus One
🎵 Music used in this video from Artlist

Few people realize the value of sound (ambient, foley, and music), and your soundtrack ties your video clips together very nicely. As it turns out, rather than upgrading to 8K 8-bit screens, I'm waiting on widely accepted HDR screens and content (at least 10-bit). Apart from a giant wall-sized 8K screen (or pixel-peeking with my nose on the glass), HDR is likely to be far more visually noticeable (and appealing) than adding a vast oversampling of pixels.

Thank you soo much Ken. Since doing the documentary and seeing what the guys here in Perth did with the 5.1 mix and creating these incredible sound scapes, I’ve been putting more and more emphasis on the sound design as well as foley and atmos recording for my sound library.
Thank you again for the comment

@@GarthDeBrunoAustin Truly stunning. The sounddisign was also a thing that stood out to me. Would love to see a video on sound for the documentary.

What sets you apart (aside from great composition and storytelling) is the way you use sound design! Fantastic work man!

I dont exactly know why but I am so amazed by your content. I am sitting in front of a 1080p screen and I am baffled this video feels so good.

The motherland is very beautiful any reason you chose to upscale to 8k? I think the picture looks great and people who watch don’t even know what 8k is. Just curious, your channel is very inspiring btw

This is just so beautiful. I lost track on 'disunity' but I've been waiting for it ever since I watched that "behind the camera" video. So I wonder if there's a date for it to be available on streaming 🤔🤔🤔
