My main pawn has always been a fighter, and I can't imagine running through the game without her. She can go toe-to-toe with the strongest enemies in the game and just not die, drawing aggro and dealing good damage. With a few augments from warrior, a fighter is a class I never want to exclude from my party.
A solid strategy I switched to Warrior from Level 10-150 afterwards then changed her back to Fighter because warrior has greater offensive power.
I really appreciate the concise and clear guides as someone who's starting the game for the first time myself! I love the Sword and Shield in Monster Hunter and this feels like much of the same offensive and defensive close combat style I love. Thanks so much!

I was like, "hmm this character sorta looks like the canon WoL that's neat" and then you called heavenward slash "Heavensward slash" and I knew.
I did certainly take a lot of inspiration from canon WoL for my avatar's appearance, good eye!
Shield Storm, and even more so it's 3rd tier version Shield Slam, are particularly useful against blocking Ogres.
It'll break their guard and make them stagger.

Another thing to note about Broad Slash is that, for Slash specifically and not cut, if used after another attack (be it a core attack or skill) you can input a direction on the stick so that you end up in a different position on either side of the enemy. You can even use it to go in circles, if you're so inclined!
This makes it pair nicely with core attacks if you have the Ferocity augment, as it lets you keep a combo going endlessly with no hassle, and it's a nice quick i-frame attack too.

A pawn combo i grew to love as a Sorc is Fighter-Warrior to protect you and your sorc main pawn during sync spelling. Dont even need a yellow range at all with the apocalypse you are brewing together, and two tough mofos you dont need to run after to revive is great
I'm replaying as a sorcerer and yes, that combination is perfect. They both go to the front entertaining the enemies while I prepare the spells. The last time I wanted to play sorcerer I was using a strider instead of a warrior and it was much more difficult
Hey, it’s Deathangle from the twitch streams, and I gotta say this is one of the most digestible vocation guide I’ve seen on RUclips. Covers the basics and all of the skills in a nice time frame with a great voice over and a few jokes for good measure. The only thing I would maybe like to see a a section for general strategy, such as how to deal with ranged enemies for this video. You do show some in the footage but explaining it might help.

Burst Strike, Antler Toss, and Dragon's Maw (Full Moon Slash for my Pawn due to how they'll abuse DM and put themselves in fatigue too often to use anything else).
Shield Drum, Cymbal Onslaught, and Sheltered Fusillade (just Shield Drum for Pawn since they are excellent at Perfect Blocks, and not having the other two skills allows more offense, even if they end up doing less damage against enemies weak to Blunt damage).

Thanks its well covered, still one of my favorite class in DD2, I like what they did with the classes in DD2 and especially with the fighter and the new ability, I always though there was some abilities in the first one that was not that great, but that goes for all vocations. They made the skills/abilities much better imo. On my fighter built in DD2, I got:
Burst strike, to close gap to ennemies
Shield Pummel (absolutely love this one, its so fun!) to get rid of ennemies or break their guards
Gutting Skewer, because its also fun while cliging to ennemies
Vengeful Slash, extremely powerful slash that can know down a minotaur on one single hit... its not explain, clearly but it seems like the amount of damage you would receive from an attack is important on this one, as the higher, the higher the attack damage is... but may be im just dreaming...
I dont have a jumping attack because I usually get the augment and ring that make you get the ennemies attention, that way I keep using Vengeful slash, on any kind of harpies or succubus and they automatically drop, knock down, and then I heavy attack/stab them once to death... so satisfying! It works on almost everything.

I got this game on a whim but wow this looks so cool looks like monster hunter in a fantasy world setting (monster hunter is my favorite game of all time)

For the next class videos perhaps start each skill section, like sword skills and shield skills, at the least useful ones and work your way through to the most useful?
My current formula is to go through each skill in the order you unlock them, which is generally easier since straight up usefulness can be subjective and a little difficult to quantify in some cases

My main pawn is like half support mage half big aoe spells mage with an emphasis to stick close to me and support me before anything else. Many times now I have had her start to set up that light shield spell while I do divine defense in front of her and it really is a killer combo. Usually no one can get through my defense and she just sits there and buffs me and heals me like crazy. It is one of my favorite things to do in big fights right now 😅
well fighter was certainly my class before i know that ranger literally broke the game XD

Question about launchboard. If you do a jump attack instead of grabbing onto an enemy, do any properties from the launcher's shield get added to the launchee? Like enchantments if the shield was magical, or topor if rusted, etc?

My fighter doesn’t really need invincibility frames because of the defence I have stacked so I’m going with the flashy moves instead. Note: I’m endgame gold gear

That would always be my got to Pawn, unles i go for Sorcerer for the combo..
Pawn using Knight, and take every shielding, taunting, and tanking abilities lol
It's a very good option for a pawn!
@@ThiefofCrystals ikr.. like, i will never be worry of him dying (male pawn always), and he kept on attracting enemies from me.. so any classes are fine to use.. and with knight we can equip springboard as well to add more utility..

I never played DD, because I had no console... so now I started it... it has this oldschool vibe, there is no dodge which is very odd (literally every 3rd person action game from capcom has one)
If you're after that specifically, play Strider, Ranger, or Assassin with daggers, dodge rolling is a core skill for them
