Music in the U.S. these days is really depressing, but there are glimmers of hope. Overseas, in Japan, Brazil & Europe there are some great bands who are relighting the flame and I'm happy to say I am more optimistic about music than I have been since the days when rap & grunge destroyed the American musical landscape. I only wish I was 20 years younger to be a bigger part of it!!
I know. I'm trying to get to any 80s metal shows that come to town cause it'll be gone for good soon. There's literally no one from the 90s on up that I'd pay more than $50 to see.
my nephew saw them a few days ago... incredible the video they took, i seen Megadeth and slayer in 2009 but i literally had to much booze and i remember maybe 15 seconds of the entire show. i havent drank since 2012....
Wikipedia shows Kiko has writing credits on most of the songs with Dave. And there's a few of the songs with writing credits from the bassist and drummer as well. I think most of the guys in the band are relatively new but they all seem to be contributing so it's really cool to see.

Back then you only got to see your heroes every two years when they toured or you read about them in magazines or you bought a VHS tape. So when you were at the front and Megadeth hit the stage with their opening number your feet hardly touched the floor, the excitement was real. I really must stop clicking on these videos, they just make me sad. I want to see these bands again but even though I am in my fifties I still want to thrash around in the pit and it's not my age that stops me, it's not wanting to knock some twat,s phone out of their hands. The band also remembers what an 80,s crowd was like I wonder what they think now when they look out at a bunch of zombies?

I was there by the railing off to the right of Dave at that show. That was my first time seeing them so I had to pull out of my phone for that show. The next two shows at Reno and Irvine I really didn’t take out out phone
Dirk is a pro. He's ultimately a fan too and respects the art. He's the original drummer for Soilwork; he was with them until just a few years ago, and likes to play death-metal type stuff in his off time. He's one of the best drummers out there, Dave was smart to hire him. \,,/
I'm a drummer. He is spot on. Just like Lars. LOL. I don't think Lars could play the same thing twice if his life depended on it. His live performances are all over the place and painful to watch.

@@eazye519 I don't know... Kiko has similar exotic style and taste to Friedman, and this is definitely a skill upgrade as far as drumming and bass playing are concerned. The R.I.P. lineup definitely had more chemistry, but Kiko and Dave have been playing together a while now and the others will get in step with the tour under way now. Personally I think Dave, Kiko, Lil' Dave and Chris Adler was pretty F'n close to the R.I.P. lineup. Shit, I would have even made that argument for the lineup around The System Has Failed.

Dave Mustaine is way too old and broken to be playing clean, especially after his arm injury, he doesn’t practice anymore. Back then he was a monster and wasn’t sloppy.
And dammit - how good a drummer is Dirk Verbeuren?. Not that this particular song is the most complex one for a skilled guy like him, but he is in absolute control from start to finish. He is a f#cking beast.
Thanks for uploading. Saw Megadeth at the Dodge Theater back in 07 supporting Heaven and Hell when I lived in Phoenix … Dave sounds as good as ever today.
I'll be seeing them soon. I am so looking forward to it. I've been seeing them fairly regularly for ~20 years and it is great to see their concerts getting bigger and bigger.

I once tried sending my Grandma to Camelot Music in Sarasota Square Mall, FL to grab me a copy of Youthanasia, she searched the CD rack, found said album, took a glance at the cover and called me back saying, 'No chance am I taking that album cover to the sales counter with an old lady hanging newborn babies on a washing line Robert! She was not impressed.
I don't care how you feel about Dave as a person, or what you think of his vocal style, this man is one of the greatest minds Metal has ever seen. Dude is fucking impeccable on the axe.

The bass in Symphony of Destruction was epic on this tour (well at least in the venue I saw them in, The Armory).
