Now almost age 53 I just stare at my bike all shiny in the garage, and this only helped reinforce my current situation. Glad this guy is ok.
Don't feel bad Doc,my Father taught me how to ride at age 12, I am now 61 { on the wifes computer} I have 2bikes in the house with me. I know my time is up but I can't seem to sell because I do not want anyone to get hurt,accept for a brother all my friends are dead.

Throwing red flags is not up to the marshals to decide. They relay the severity of the incident to race control via radio. Then race control will order the red flag, so every marshals' post shows the red flag at the same time. "Rogue" red flags have killed riders in the past.
Oof, that came out of nowhere. I actually thought they looked a bit slow to crash, but I guess they really were putting some thrust through these old warriors and their skinny pram tyres. Kudos for riding them, not keeping them in a glass case!

Glad rider is ok. I pretty sure he thought bike was going wide and OVER CORRECTED and/or to much front brake. That skid mark in pavement is the front tire. If you watch closely front wheel is turned in way to much for curve.
The rider was already out of the groove before they entered the viewing angle. Thankfully it was a slow section and escaped serious injuries. I wonder what the pucker factor was.
It's a pity the camera angle didn't show a bit more of the corner entry too. I agree with you, he seemed to appear in shot, way faster than everyone else.
@@SongJLikes On a superbike with wide sticky tyers no problem or indeed on any modern sports bike on good road tyers, but I am not sure of the capability of those older bikes with their narrow tyers.

I feel like the rider here would be the first one to admit he made a technical error… but I don’t know if “too fast” covers the totality of it.
Poor lad. Don't be embarrassed son. Just pay more attention next time. That's all it was. Loads of respect to you for even competing in a sport this dangerous.
Hope he makes a full recovery & is back racing soon. On a plus note he can always look on here for tips on how to corner & not highside (whatever one of them is 😉) Props to the marshal's too outstanding job well done.

A bit too much speed for this older tipe of bike and the bike got nervous. I hope he will be back on his feet and bike fast.
