I visited the TT in 1967 (Diamond Jubilee) when it still had been part of the World Championship. Mike Hailwood & Co we're racing. And as gar ad I remember the Hotel Bars we're closed at 11 PM. We Had a wonderful week enjoying not only rhe races but also local events like a Meeting of the Vincent Owners Club. At this time the international Community of MC drivers was closer than later.
Lived there in 89,Reanie and Jack, the hats, board and lodgings, used to drink in the dogs home,gone now 😢, Reanie was our Ma away from home, lovely people, Scouse,we from Dublin and house of Welsh,nordys,mancs,Scouse,all on the t sites,good times,until got deported!the folly of youth😉

If you think this is insane could you imagine going round the original course with no tarmac with crap handling bikes with a cork crash helmet on your head or even doing laps with tuned GP bikes with drum brakes front and rear on the later course.

It's a difficult atmosphere to describe when they close the roads.
It gets quieter and quieter but more and more intense.
Racing bikes that fast on this course is super impressive, but side-cars? Upper chad level.

The engineering of these machines is just fcking incredible.
Went last year couldn’t go this year plan to go next. The best motorsport event. Nothing else comes remotely close.

Had many a night in the dogs home pub once drunk it dry with mates and slept on beach in racing leathers happy days 40 years ago

Those lads were made of different stuff, but raced at a fraction of the speed. Both insane in their own right!
