The Nexus reminds me of the Nautilus ...That goes way back where the guy built his detectors in his garage, but were very mysterious , but never got me to buy, would like to see that in action today
I don't understand this campaign against single frequency and analog devices. For example, I have Nokta devices, but also Deeptech's Vista X, and I can say without lying that Vista X is the one I prefer to take with me. Its advantages are that it finds targets more clearly and deeper. In addition, it is very simple to use without any menus. It also has a very fast separation speed. Of course, if you want to avoid bull tabs in parks, then digital ones have an advantage. But the situation is different in fields and forests.
I would say that you can buy whatever you want. If you are mainly searching in parks and very dirty areas, you should choose a modern digital device. But if you search mainly in forests and fields, then analog single-frequency detectors often even beat the new multi-frequency devices. I think multi-frequency is an overemphasized feature in metal detectors.
Whether one considers a detector simpler to use, is irrelevant to the performance conversation. In addition, your comment about fast separation is meaningless. Reason being, the engineers can easily make the separation (recovery speed) extraordinarily fast, but they don't because bad things begin to happen. For example, a very fast recovery speed means not enough eddy currents saturate the target, which in turn means poor target ID at depth and general lack of depth. In all tests in my very mild soil, SF is similar in depth to SMF provided that all else is equal. Getting into mid to high mineralized soil, SMF smokes SF for depth. Furthermore, even in my mild soil SMF easily outperforms SF in iron unmasking, as well as general target ID accuracy on any target deeper than about 6".
I would think the only thing old targets in the found would be the Halo effect and that would be very little on just copper and bronze coins and that would be bronze in ground for 400 years or more, but again very little
That guy thinks he's God to metal detecting.....All test are worthless???Sounds like he is defending a bad detector I was detecting before he was born , Love the old ones, but can't hold a candle to the new boys today
@@calabashdiggeradventures I really appreciate this information. I was wondering the same thing. To clarify, you were told a week initially, or were you told a week from now? Thank you for any additional help.
I watched your live stream about the Nexus. It was stated that you need a rain cover to operate the Nexus in the rain. If you have to frequently adjust the Nexus as you move as the ground changes, how do you work the knobs in the rain when they are covered with a rain cover?

What would you tell someone getting into the hobby to buy? Single or multi?

Yeah , your part of that crowd....
Yes I am. I am exactly those whom the metal detector brands have not managed to influence with their advertising hype and donations.

He's selling snake oil..
By the way have you heard anything from Nokia when that update on the Legend it’s been a month now maybe they decided not to to release it after all .
week I was told..

Good question...Would you risk using a $3000 dollar non water proof metal detector in the rain?
If you can't be bothered to unzip the rain cover to make an adjustment, how can you be bothered to search for anything in the rain?
@@Sepi621 I swing the Deus 2 so the only unzipping I do during the hunt is when I drank too much coffee with my pre hunt breakfast.
Where does minelab sovereign gt and the whites dfx fall, in this testing and rating. I think they are multi frequency and the sovereign has knobs.
WAY BEHIND...
What about the E Track seems to be still very good for deep silver .
Working on it...
Etrac Procesor probably feels like old school internet
