    That 91 old lady is so adorable. She's hardworking, funny, kind and most of all her passion for her work is just amazing.
    I feel bad for myself being 20 and lying around all day on days off work. Should get up and do more lah 😂

    All of these cuisines are world class. Perfection in simplicity, on the plates. Nothing in Singapore taste bad. Only if your palate cannot handle the adventure which is a shame in the best good food loving country in the world.

    Thank you CNA for digging deep within each of these episodes, fleshing out the personal and inspirational stories from these hawkers.
    The Singapore hawker culture is such a precious heritage and one that hopefully continues to thrive. But even if it doesn't in 50 years time, we at least have these videos that document the lives and struggles of the heroes that run our hawker stalls!

    Amazing people. They make me miss Singapore. It's not the food that makes me go back per se, but the people who give Singapore its soul. They make overseas Singaporeans want to stay connected and stay open to the future. I came here coz I read that Mdm Leong had to close and the landlord was part of the decision. That was my fav wanton mee shop, never short of customers. More needs to be invested into these people and creating an environment in which they can/will thrive. If Singaporeans can become more open to one another and what makes our culture priceless, we'd gradually understand how to fit things together and make better solutions available to everyone.

    Watching this.... I'm informed. I'm nostalgic. I'm moved. To me, this series - and I mean both seasons 1 and 2 - is on par or better than other food series like Chef's table and Ugly Delicious. This documentary series must continue. I'm sure there are more stories to tell.

    Singaporean hawker food is the best! You can get a meal for less than $5, a very good meal in fact. I hope the vendors survive this pandemic 🙏🏻

    mdm wanton mee , reminds me of my grandma, her hair and attire even down to the jade bangle, she represents the side of Singapore that i've long forgotten ..... she is a treasure!

    🙂 One of my favorite things about my travels to Singapore and Malaysia were the street food hawkers. Use to go out in a group and have the steamboats (which I suppose is basically yum cha)

      Well i actually never ate indian food before as an indian because my family living in us for more than a hundred years and all because my grandfather forgot about the indian food so im eating sandwiches and cereal and sometimes cookies including many other american cuisine

    Been eating nan seng wonton mee stall beside the old National Library ( near my school) since the 70s. Old ah po is inspirational. ✊

    Omg, I love the Madam Leong's energy, reminds me of my grandpa and grandma. Yes pls continue her legacy. I am thinking of starting a kopitiam business too just that not sure where to start. Kopitiam and local Street Food is the spirit and root of our calture. Be Proud of it

    The indian lady who made apom appeared to be very young. My first guess was 40 years of age. I was quite surprised when she said she was 58.

    I went back to Swatow and Xiamen, no joke of all things they brought back Satay beehoon.
