I enjoyed watching this programme. An insight on the hawkers life and how they are dealing this covid situation. I am touched by the passion and professionalism of our hawkers always thinking of their customers. Thanks to all the young hawkers who are willing to take over their aging folks to continue the trade so that we can enjoy good hawker food. Sg hawker food is what I miss most when away from Singapore. Nothing is more satisfying than having my favourite hawker meal when I return from my overseas trip.

This is great to see some of the next generation taking over hawker food in Singapore. Many do not and it's said that the traditional tastes and flavours that make Singapore food some of the best in the world will be gone, as younger people do not see running a hawker stall as a respectable/fashionable employement.
I think it is an extremely respectable and sorely needed job. I only wish I could go back to Singapore and enjoy the satay again. Hopefully Covid will be under control soon.

If you never look down on delivery drivers because you really needed them for your business, that's a wrong approach. You shouldn't look down on any professions/jobs whether street sweeper or banker. A job exist because society needed a human being to perform the tasks for specific hours. Be grateful someone is doing it. then again, I don't hold much hope majority Singaporeans would understand this, when mostly they're always thinking in dollar term.

The veggies are always like just a throwaway and not much selection or portion.. its just there as "filler" so to speak. Those taiwan night market sell the same junk food in all different taiwan and has no match Singapore hawkers culture. The fact that there isn't a night market in every district of each taiwan province.unlike hawers in Singapore where I can find in every estates. That convenience is not enjoy by every residence. What you eat in taiwan night market is all monotonous chinese food which majority are originated in China and most popular items in the night market are miostly deep fried in rancid oil.Ya, if that is variety then I agreed with you.

Looking at some of the prices they are no longer the price range we know for hawker food. They are just restaurant downgraded to hawker centre, in order to enjoy the cheap rent. Soon they will outbid the traditional your favourite fish ball noodles or chicken rice, and eating at hawker centre become a restaurant expenses. Stupid trend to promote.

If these prices afford these hardworking hawkers a living wage I’m for it 🤷‍♀️

PSA: You people still wearing paper masks, stop doing that. Discover cloth masks. Try a few different brands to see what works out best for you, then get a week's worth and wash each day and you can put a fresh one on each day. They're not stinky the way paper masks get, more comfortable, etc.

Did you not see the study on the most effective masks? Also these are not "paper" masks. Just goes to show how much you know.

CNA, Mee Siam originated from Malaysia. Check your facts before claiming ownership to our recipes. The people of your neighboring countries all know Singapore does not have much of a food culture, most dishes served in your country are borrowed recipes, or cooked by foreign chefs...so be grateful at the least. Dont go changing a dishes historical roots as you please. To this episodes writers..try Wikipedia. duuuhhh.

Eh Malaysia belong to China. Last time mainland Malaysia belong to Sri Vijaya Empire acting as a vassal state of China. Your culture all come from the Javanese and South Thailand people during the Sri Vijaya and Majapahit Empire. You think Malaysia so special? Your entire culture all is borrowed from Indian Buddhism and the Javanese people. You think you so big meh?
