Indomie is healthy according to my pocket.
Bro 🤣
So accurate 😂
Spot on. I couldn't agree more.
🤣🤣🤣
Indomie seleraku
the same goes for "LOW FAT" yoghurt. They have a higher sugar levels than regular yoghurt to compensate for the loss of flavour due to reduced fat contents.
That is why it is way better and healthier to eat FULL FAT.
go for greek one's, much better. however, do avoid flavoured one's
Cannot agree more. I only eat real yogurt made of whole milk. The yogurt sold in most American supermarket are junk food that are dessert rather and wholesome food. I used to make my own yogurt from whole milk.
Low sugar high fat (healthy fat) is better. Just watch your fat intake. It's harder to watch your sugar intake in the US cause most foods have added sugars.
Just get it unsweetened and add a bit of honey?
Short answer: Technically, yes
Long Answer: This video
Thanks
this is what scientific looks like :v longgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg.
LOL thanks for the tldr! 🤣
Short answer: technically, yes
Long answer (summarised from the video): air-dried noodles > fried noodles, but seasoning matters too (homemade > pre-made seasoning)
Haha but tbh the "taste test" isn't rigorous enough! This is because the judges' perception could be skewed based on their individual preferences for different flavours (e.g. laksa, sesame). To make it more equal and fair, the only variable that should be changed is the type of noodles, while keeping the type of seasoning the same.
exactly
Yep
But who will be using seasoning from another product? Everyone uses what comes with it.
15:45 Wow, this guy really breaks it down! Good job.
I sure wish ramen manufacturers would list the nutritional info for the noodles separately and the spices packet(s) separately as well. Great info and next time I have ramen I will be using my own spices thanks to you! Love your videos. I'm from Canada and love watching these series videos you guys make!
coming from the country who made Indomie, the part that shows the ingredients and how to make your own seasoning are very insightful
@SmaCk You d1cK Msg isn't toxic if you eat moderately. It just another salt.
@SmaCk You d1cK not at all. Show me the research
@SmaCk You d1cK you're a doctor then? Great. Please kindly link me peer reviewed research papers, preferably non paywalled, that can back your alleged facts because otherwise all your comment is saying is that you're a prick.
Msg is not danger it just make ur brain quality decrease more that people that not eat MSG ... even it happens slowly ..... dont forget MSG that use in this instant noddle or sell in package for cooking is actually chemical why ??cause is cheaper than use real stock from mushroom, dry shrimp or whole chicken .....is the same like food essence is synthetic chemical like vanilla powder , chicken stock powder , almond essence , chocolate essence , fruit essence etc... is basic chemical component that made so when u eating it or smell it , it stimulate ur nerve and send signal to ur brain that is taste , smell like real food taste .... and all those chemical will not good for health in long term even if the food grade .....also read a lot literally in internet about it dont be lazy u can found it everywhere ....
@@aiorlin8722 So how u get chemical? 😁
Is it just me who can't afford to buy any healthy instant food? Home cooking way more cheaper for me :(
Give time. After years it will be cheap product. Cause new will be produced until then
me too. a lot of those 'healthier' noodles are even more expensive than fresh food 😂
ur not alone
Fresh food is better
i think its more of the seasoning in these instant noodles that we add that increases the amount of saturated fat, sodium etc.
Conclusion : instant noodle is processed food. So is not healthy regardless what is added or claim especially regular consumption. Period.
this should be a highlighted comment for petes sake!
Processed doesnt always mean unhealthy. Any food item that goes on grocery shelves have been processed
@@mikenguyen2890 What if you boil it, and discard their flavour powder and make your own flavours?
@@davidjolie7763 yes but it is still
Fried in place oil
@@powerisme7551 not all of them tho. There are some that are oven cooked or steam cooked
If you decrease the amount of MSG on the seasoning, you ended up having to overcompensate in salt. There is nothing wrong with MSG, I even told my mom to add MSG when cooking my grandma's food as it increase appetite and while decreasing the amount of sugar and salt since she got high blood pressure as well as diabetic.
They sell it (at least in the US) under the brand Accent “flavor enhancer”. I was always curious why they would sell it if it was so bad. So, you’re telling me it’s good? Cuz I’ll def try it then. I know it’s in so much of the processed food we buy here in the states anyway so it must be good for SOMETHING, right?
@@christinafidance340well, if you eat like a fistful for a day then sure it will be bad for you, but at that volume, what wouldn't. Anyway the rule of thumb is, about a 1/4 of a spoon, or a pinch should be enough for 1 meal,
@@christinafidance340 just because it is permitted in a country does not mean it is good for the body. Some countries have much stricter regulations like Europe. What is banned in Europe may be permitted in US
@@matreen427 still on the bullshit mate??
I realized that when I have to cook up the seasoning for a healthier consumption it's not "instant" anymore, so yeah, just eat it in an emergency, and if you have to, detox after that
what I learned from this video is that it's no good, healthier is just a label, because the big plot twist here is the seasoning
I love how you cover every part like taste. Here in Sweden we don't have any healthier versions of noodles, we only have the standard instant noodles.
Healthier means healthier compared to your average instant noodles but doesn't mean in itself is healthy or good for you. That's common sense.
How about Vite Ramen?
i.refs.cc/xPvC4iFz?smile_ref=eyJzbWlsZV9zb3VyY2UiOiJzbWlsZV91aSIsInNtaWxlX21lZGl1bSI6IiIsInNtaWxlX2NhbXBhaWduIjoicmVmZXJyYWxfcHJvZ3JhbSIsInNtaWxlX2N1c3RvbWVyX2lkIjo1NzMwMDIwMTJ9
Great information, I do often wonder what's actually in the seasoning package. Love the part that you can customize your own seasoning, awesome tips. Thank you!
Thank you for this program. I had developed a set of questions about instant noodles, in the context of always hearing that they were not healthy. I just hope some of these products are available in the US...and I will work on my version of seasonings.
Just having a ramen (style) soup, curry flavour. Just noodles with spices sprinkled over... added frozen peas (defrosted prior) and two eggs, pouched in the soup in the microwave for 2.5 minute. You certainly can make junk pretty nutritious, assuming no nasties are in there. Context is a key. Saying that after just 4 seconds of this video passed, just responding to the suggestion on the side panel of RUclips. Cheers!
Don't always trust the claims they put on the packaging guys! It will be best to be looking at the nutritional labels to discern for yourself which is healthier. Btw, something I have learned is sometimes it is not about what we take out from the instant noodles (cus honestly when I am very hungry at night after a long day, the last thing I want is to make my own spice blend for my instant noodles) but what we can add to it. Proteins like egg or frozen cooked chicken breast (can buy online), and vegetables like frozen peas or fresh/frozen leafy greens. It makes the meal a little more nutritionally dense than normal. But then again, it is still instant noodles sooo have to eat in moderation :)
Wow advertising is getting so sophisticated
Always has been 🔫
thanks CNA & Chef Shen. im glad i watched this video. didnt even know tt we can turn dried shrimps into powder form. v creative & now i really can reduce those seasoning. hopefully, one day not be addicted to the instant noodle seasoning.
Tbh if you only eat it occasionally it's the same as occasionally eating cake, occasionally going out to drink. The issue comes when you start replacing meals with it because you get used to the amount of flavor it has and normal food becomes bland.
Just a note: taking fat from food you decrease its satiating effect, i.e. you will be hungry sooner and keep snacking between meals, which pretty much sabotages your energy intake control. Low fat can be a yogurt as a snack after the main satisfying meal, but as a main meal it isn't the right move to push the fat content to the minuscule amounts. Fat also carries flavour and comes with a range of fat soluble vitamins.
The female expert was very knowledgeable 👏🏽
you nailed it keep it going the very best from germany
Thanks for creating this episode❤! I love the Bambara groundnut noodles and the moringa noodles a lot from WhatIF Foods! They’ve upgraded their recipes with a lot more Bambara groundnuts in the ingredients! Try it for yourself ❤
Me at-
Air dried: oh ok
Whole-wheat: oh oh no, that’s disgusting
Healthier = not budget friendly. That defeats the whole point of eating instant noodles.
There is an indo/malaysia brand of non fried plain noodles cost only 1.20 for 6 servings.
Very honest review. I love it
really love this channel
Wow, I love eating instant noodle since I was a kid.
These days, I'm getting more interested in eating healthier instant noodle.
I'm so glad to find this video.
So, I'm gonna use only a half of the seasoning powder.
Cause I don't wanna take too much sodium in a meal.
In indonesia, we eat instant noodles WITH RICE! It's a carb-fest for god's sake!
haha. carb on carb gang
In Malaysia we eat instant noodles with rice and bread
In the Philippines, we eat instant noodles with either rice, Milo, bread, cake, chips, or potato. (There might be more but this is like staple breakfast for me when I'm rushing)
Also forgot cereal, coffee, juice, milk, pizza, burger, and stuff.
I eat real breakfast after rushed breakfast and I'm still underweight.
@@chrono-glitchwaterlily8776 I'm envious😭
7:45 DEEZ NUTS
I am using Japanese buckwheat or sometimes buckwheat and green tea noodles
World: worried about fried noodles bcoz of saturated fat and reused oil multiple times.
Philippines: hold my Chicharon
Lol..so true..
Lol chicharon. Part of a healthy weight loss keto diet
Argh. I need one now real bad.
Thanks for sharing 🌻
Haven't eaten instant noodles for a long time 🌈
Very educational

watching somebody eats instan noodle always makes me want to eat it too. Anyway, i like adding 2 eggs.
Beside of eggs, can added in some veggies,prawns,etc...yummy !!
Raw?? Ew.
educational, good job sg
I tried the Kona instant noodles and they are really delicious with a great chewy texture
Also the only ones keto-friendly. 😄
I guess that Mr. Melvin Tjahaja is from Indonesia. Or at least, he previously worked for Indonesian famous noodle company.
I thought i was dying, after eating konjac noodles. It increases volume in the stomach so it is not advised for ppl like me with esophagus issues. Very painful. Same happened with psyllium.
I wanna try buy these are marketed premium. So exp.
I usually add only 1/2 the packet but i don't make them soupy. I also add some Cayan pepper powder if it is not a spicy variety of ramen.
Now after finding out they are so bad for you i plan on trying the air dried noodles and making my own seasoning with a mix of chicken bouillon powder, msg, Cayan powder, and maybe a little sea salt.
We people in India have been making noodles out of Millets for ages. If you go to Taiwan you can get air dried Tainan style noodles, so no flash fried. Healthy is already there, you just gotta look.
Yeah, it causes cancer and all types of crap as well lol.
Ages ? lol noodles is East Asian invention
THANK YOU, THE INFO WE NEED JUST NOW.
A GRATEFUL COINCIDENCE. 🙏❤️👍✍️
Lmao I remember hearing about this on the car radio
They could air fry instead of dry and save a lot of work while keeping taste
I want to see someone flash frying noodles with chili oil
Forget watching! 😆 I'd like to eat such noodles! 😍
Well, I actually do halves all my seasoning... but double the portion.. go figure 🤔😂😂
I only half on indomie. The purple one and prima taste i go full.
depends on taste ig. u dont rlly need to put all the seasoning
Nashville Hillbilly here,
I grew up in Southern California eating Ramen.
Indomi Goreng are my favorite 😍 good prices 👌
Thank you I learned a lot in your show
Our pleasure!
Every time I eat only half the portion and half the powder for soup and seldom consume the soup. When cooking with lot of water to boil the noodle to remove the fat possible. Using pure boil water mixing with the powder for the soup and put noodling into it.😊
If a Japanese were to call Archan, it would be Archan chan chan
i'm a big fan of indomie goreng, i hope they will make it healthier someday
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yummmmmmmmmmmm

You should probably know well ahead what’s gonna go into your body when you choose Indomie.
Micin, micin, and micin. Don’t expect any healthier that that
🦉 Don't use the palm oil. Replace it with coconut, olive oil or butter.
i just do intermittent fasting. No matter , what I eat. My body has the time to actually spend all that fats, carbs, sugar, and calories. So my body is good to go.
Enjoy and appreciate the presentation. Thank you!
Our pleasure!
Tbh I think sales increased mainly cos covid - people were stockpiling and non-healthy options ran out. So no choice can only buy healthy options
Wow, they have diff kinds of noodle. Where can i fin them here in The Philippines (ncr).
Thank you for sharing. The main reasons I eat instant noodles are not only they are delicious but also they are cheap and I can use microwave to cook it and ready in 5 minutes.
I would have chosen the mushroom powder. I have mushrooms, miso soup, onions, and seaweed to flavor my tofu for a vegan umami flavor bomb! I also add instant mashed potatoes, but I could have used noodles.
Those “healthy” noodle just make you feel good. Eat whole foods to get the healthy stuff and eat the noodles all you like. Easy and truely healthier and tasty unless you can’t have gluten.
18:07 Mean while I mistake daily sodium intake as 500mg, and worrying about will drink too much oat milk make me consume too much salt.
are you able to post the seasoning recipe for the taste of spicy kimchi noodles these are the only noodles by nongshim i eat.
Throw away the powder, cook your own broth and add veggies, Ding!
yeap. just blanch the noodles to remove the wax and cook your own meal diy style. healthy asf
reduce stroke, reduce cholesterol, really? never heard anyone says "my stroke are gone because i ate wholemeal instant noodles" carb is carb, carb means glucose or sugar. too much carb or glucose end up diabetes.
If seasoning contains high amount of sodium, then noodles no benefit to reduce stroker unless you eat noddles without seasoning.
I have always thrown out the sachets sauce oil and made up my own💪
I don't think problem is with which item you make the noodles eventually we need carbs. But I think most of the problem in instant noodles come from high levels of sodium content in it.
How long can you store the diy seasoning?
From what is being used in the video, a long time - several months. Dried food tend to keep for long after all.
Glutamate is naturally present in tomato and cheese... Well that explains why I always thought a plain cheese and tomato sandwich tastes oddly meaty.
It doesn't matter which ramen, always boil it first, drain, before using it.
15:51, content of seasonings
18:36, example of homemade seasoning
TDLW: Get healthier noodles and pair with homemade seasonings
1:10 is it appropriate to compare the this year's sales with that of last year? I'm sure the circuit breaker has resulted in increased sales across all types of instant noodles
what I was thinking too. who provided the data and thought it's ok to use it like that. I am sure the normal instant noodles sales increased at the same if not higher rate vs LY
But as sales of instant noodles has improved as a WHOLE, I'm sure that the net sales boost within the category is somewhat same. The general sales boost's ambiguity due to COVID 19 is equivalent and thus, cancels out the healthier noodles sales boost's ambiguity.
Which yeast is that
my kids love indomie goreng/ mie sedap goreng more than any expensive fried noodle from any restaurants we have been visited. Those instant noodles are their favorite noodles among all noodles, so I have to limit their consumption because they can eat it everyday
Steve has as many masks as varieties of noodles.
Great.....making own seasoning
Watching this made me decided what to have for lunch. Yes you guessed it. Nasi Biryani.
I've had the moringa noodles and they taste good once seasoned. The downside: they smell awful while cooking.
What you add to your noodles is what makes it nourishing not the noodles by themselves like rice, I consider them just a filler to when I add beef or egg or fish etc.
There's a manufacturing plant in Singapore? I mean the place is already cramped up.
Any packaged food labeled as low fat likely is less healthy because they will balanced flavor lost from fat with lots and lots of sugar which is significantly worse than fat. Whole grain is another marketing in most foods. You have to read the labels to find the actual healthy stuff. But food manufacturers know you won't bother doing that. Just remember I can make noodles with the bottom of my shoe and say it's natural and low fat.
19:15 Moral of this story is
Switch from Oriental cuisine to Indian Cuisine 😋😋😋
this is 2020 video but I don't think modern factories still do the flash frying. dehydration has been done like 10 years ago.
I want some now
Moringa noodle :Yo wassup
Indomie is best once in a while. Ate away too much since baby, and it is still tasty among the rest!! Healthier for my pockets too.. :))
MELVIN TJAHAJA
Judging by his name, that guy probably came from the country that created Indomie.

Singapore channels are excellent and very interesting.
Thanks for the insight .but i will not stop eating it. May go healthy.
Eyy chef shen from Food King!
I always add half pack of the seasoning powder and i find that flavourful enough. and skip the soup!
I thought oils at room temperature where liquid BECAUSE they have unsaturated fatty acid chains? So how can palm oil be high in “saturated fat” can someone explain?
How long is it going to take the majority of people to learn that fat is not bad.... eating fat doesnt make you fat, it's just another energy source for our bodies to use. It doesn't matter if you are eating carbohydrates, or fat... if you eat in excess your body will store it as fat, however carbohydrates are much easier to eat in large quantities leading to obesity.
Gonna make the healthy version and charge $15 per bowl!
@1:20 and so on. Where is the watermelon? 😂😂
They are basically 150g of noodles / if you want to slurp you cannot avoid carbs lol but one thing you can avoid is those fried carbs which the chinese instant noodle;they are usually fried base meanwhile those korean are not.
thanks to that air drier I can have Singapore laksa across the planet
They are healthier if you don't use the flavoring packet tho that's a lot of sodium
