I don't even know if there are enough cards for "Top 10 Cards That Have Been Banned More Than Once" list. I do know Imperial Order is, to date, the only card to be banned, errata'd to try fix it, then banned *again* after coming off the list.
Talking about Substitoad I always was curious about the "Except Frog The Jam". I never understood why it was needed to refer to stuff like this where it's just a pretty lackluster vanilla that I doubt would make much of a change of it didn't had that exception on it. Something happened when Sky Scout was know as Harpie's Brother.
It's a translation issue (or rather a mistranslation one). Sometimes the translators for yugioh cards take liberties that cause cards to go into certain archetypes they don't belong (or be excluded from them). A big example (besides Sky Scout/Harpie's Brother) is Summoned Skull, which is actually part of an archetype. In the ocg it is known as "summoned demon", but they later turned "demon" into a full archetype in japan. Due to religious concerns the demon archetype was changed to archfiend by the translators, however they had already translated "summoned demon" as "summoned skull". So in the ocg any demon support would also work on summoned demon, but in the tcg the archfiend support wouldn't work on summoned skull. It's the opposite with harpie's brother and frog the jam, who would receive harpie and frog support in the tcg even though in the ocg their name are different and thus they don't belong to those archetypes. And to create consistency between tcg and ocg, a lot of cards either have those exceptions or have a special note in their card text that they are treated as a card belonging to that archetype (like Summoned Skull, which now has a note that says "this card is always treated as an archfiend card".
@@nicolaistuhlmuller8718 So all that sort of "Except [Insert name here]" is just a matter to mirror the OGC and nothing more? Well, now I get it why it's an issue because I always thought strange for some pretty ass vanillas like Frog The Jam being directly mentioned as not a target for a searcher which is the case of Substitoad.
@@TheTruestZero yes exactly, otherwise it would be weird if tcg and ocg players met at a world championship and one player's support would affect other monsters than the other's.
Exciton was much like gorz at the time which forced players to play a specific way, in gorz's case it got people into the habit of attacking with their weakest monster first so that you dont get surprised with a high power token, even though Gorz is no longer meta relavent you still see people to this day doing this. Exciton on the other hand, forced players to count their resources and try to not hold onto as many card in hand in order to not get Exciton'd, often times keeping count of their opponent's resources and sometimes burning one of their cards as to not have more resources then their opponents.

I just got started playing Duel Links and (barely) Master Duel, but I'm wondering, why isnt' there an option to individually select cards from the ingame shop? For example I want a specific card but I have to search where it's boxed and keep drawing until I get it? Also is this also a thing if I were to play, say for example the DS games.
I was going up against my friend, who played a way better deck then me, and I went second, opening with Harpie’s Feather Duster, Raigeki, and Monster Reborn. After the board wipe, I went in for an attack, and it was successful, and after that, I did a little bit of burn damage that left him with 1,100 LP remaining, but he ended up finishing me off, since I can’t reliably set my board fast enough for a pretty much competitive deck. My dueling friends call it a stall deck, and I think I mostly stall until I get the anime luck I need, which, for the duel I did with him, did not acquire. It’s the closest I’ll ever get to beating him when he doesn’t brick
If you'd want to see an even stronger Raikegi I guess it'd have to be one that does non-destruction removal which means that it'd bypass the destruction resistance
Enough ban lists, the moment they banned the Wind Barrier it became a joke and I treat it as a joke now. It crossed the line when don't even use that way that banned it, start banning poor sports who can't handle losing is the solution. I lose so what? I can win with weird combos people not thinking about; playing comes with both winning in crushing style the other and losing being crushed. Toll; had 2, was overlooked, with Final Countdown the final turn or they lose have to try, got to turn #20 they tried using LP's to gain atk I asked how do you pay the toll, the 1st one don't even try to do the 2nd one, and got a weird win. What let's ban Toll now? Ojama Duo and Trio the friend had no way to get rid of the results using on them, giving me the win, we better ban those as well, since could not summon Paladin when drawn get to Special summon. The more banned cards the bigger the joke it becomes, the fewer the more they stand out why. Yugioh is re-reading learning loopholes, the mighty fusion Spellcaster QM with 4500 atk is almost immune to everything unless found the loophole with the Krawler Field Spell "When your Flip monster is destroyed by battle with an opponent's monster: You can send that opponent's monster to the GY." Loophole found what ban that now too ruin the deck? Stop crying for banned cards people; start reading and looking for loopholes or we need to ban the soe losers if not poor winners too and reduce 90% of the ban list right now.
I've always hated Raigeki. The fact they refused to reprint it and bring it to a reasonable price for decades meant you'll always lose in tournaments to rich kids (not that it's any different nowadays, but it was even more annoying back in the day).
Right can't believe that card isn't on the list, outside of the Chaos Dragon +Sangan/Witch combo the thing was a constant source of -1 on your opponent. Granted now it's way too slow.
It's literally unplayably bad. And would've been unplayable for the last like 10 years. Substitoad actually FTK'd people, but the rest of this list is about cards that are still strong *today*.
@TwoToneShoes yeah that's fair it took me awhile to understand that this was about cards off the ban list that were still good rather than top 10 cards that were banned and came off but were good in their eras. Arguably Yata and CED are the reason bans exist.
@@EflowNivek Yeah I mean CED did the heavy lifting in the Yata Lock era. And, frankly, if CED hadn't been errata'd it'd be at the top of this list. Its original ability is still broken to this day.
The only downside to change of heart is that it Targets, so if your opponent's big boss monster can't be targeted, or worse, is unaffected then it's useless. Other than that it's solid.
Just to note. You say that Gateway of the six is good because it's not a hard once per turn. From what I played in Master Duel, it's good because it's not once per turn at all. If it was a soft once per turn, I'm sure it would be nowhere near as good.
2:20 Wait what? How is Zenmaity still banned? Is Komoney really afraid of Wind-up handloops in 2024? Its like being afraid of a Jowgen lock in Spellbooks, lol. Can anybody tell them that we have handtraps and much better decks now?

Although pendulum is kinda fun to use it is by far the worst summoning mechanic because of the scales. GREAT ONE, Duel Logs. As an old school fan and player of this magnificent game, seen the top 4 spots just make me remember the good old days. Thanks!! I enjoy your videos very very much. Regards from Mexico.
The fact that some of these are now even available in Duel Links is testament to how far the game has come
Keep it up bro! Your voice is your product! Yugioh video’s that doubles as sleep videos is awesome!
Top 10 cards that got other cards banned or limited, but they themselves remained untouched.
(I.e. Topologic bomber dragón, gossip shadow, dragoon, etc. )
Wait I could swear bomber dragon got unbanned also with gossip shadow I felt like number 86 was more the problem
Tyrant Neptune?
Good thing you didn't mention Brain Control in while talking about Change of Heart. It has suffered enough.
Gateway is kind of like Emergeroid Call (or whatever that “roid” legacy card is called). The card itself is busted, but the cards that it gets you are not that good. The difference is Six Sam used to be good, while “roids” were always bad.
I think I’d like a video on the charmer “archetype”. They seem to be intended to be splashed into their own attribute and even seem to have got retrains so it would be interesting to see your take on the roles the cards were meant to fill in their themed attribute decks
I would like to see how would the meta be like if cards had never been unbanned or unlimited. Like a historic version of the WCS banlist.
I remember seeing a tournament that did this as a side format: anything goes tournament.
In essence, very mixed list of decks because no one could figure out a meta against anything goes lol
@@Ceece20honestly that sounds like a good thing lol.
You would see Yata lock combo 99% of the time.
Its no longer possible with the errata to chaos emperor dragon though@@khoadao3071
@@khoadao3071 I guess you read it backwards - I meant a tournament where cards that were once banned/limited and then unbanned/unlimited were NOT allowed to come back (unless they were errataed).
I think "Top 10 most expensive cards printed in Yugioh" & "Top 10 rogue deck-viable cards" would be really cool.
Damn, now I realize that's how you spot an old school Yu-Gi-Oh player. I always do that, same as setting spells and traps away from Opponents s/t. It's just a good habit
Substitoad? Yikes. Also i love that my Six Sams got their gate back. Its such a busted card even after the errata. Pre-Errata it could even go infinite if you drew it turn one at one copy.
What errata?
I need a "Why this card be unbanned" series. Btw, justice for Brain Control
dude ive been falling asleep to your videos forever before i found this playlist thanks for making such great content
We used to have a house rule where you could have one banned card or two limited cards in your deck. My friend had six samurai, played a copy of gateway, super annoying. I get rid of it, and then the Mf plays a second one… I seto kiaba’d him and ripped that card in half and let him draw again 😭😭😭
We had the same rule..chaos end dragon was my choice,
Chaos emperor Dragon with the original effect was the GOAT
I love how an OCG version of this top 10 could later be done
I play at locals with a modern meta deck but like, Change of Heart still routinely wins me games that I should lose. I love it 🔥
Hello there can you make a full video on archtypes with insane potential
Like dual avatars and rock warriors
Or about some forgoten actually broken boss monsters such as apotias mechlord
"top 10 banned cards still legal in Master Duel"
while it's pretty blatantly obvious what Number one would be (despite my opinions, its unquestionably Maxx "C"), it would certainly prompt some discussion as to whether or not the Best of 1 format has a hand in how the banlists are different from the TCG/OCG
I feel like there has to be a way to use Exciton Knight in master duel as a Maxx C counter
Honestly in my experience Maxx C has done NOTHING for me. Every time I try to use it my opponent happens to have an Ash blossom or call by to negate its effect and most of the time, I've had no counter lined up for it.
Exciton only activates during your opponents battle phase, not their main phase, so bagooska is still much better
Elemental HERO Stratos will always have a special place in my heart.
I love how he mentions Isolde who just got the ban hammer this past week lol.
I hope you do a 2 videos of:
-CARDS WHICH BANNED ON OCG AND NOT IN TCG OR VISE VERSA
-TOP 10 BEST CARDS HAS A DISCARD COST OR TRIGGER.
snatch steal too
So, I'll assume this video was on the makings before Snatch Steal was unbanned again as January 2024
Substitoad
Gateway
Engage
Spellbook of Judgement
Monkeyboard
Yata Garasu
BLS - EotB.
Dragon Ravine
Trishula, DoIB
Power Spells all in one spot only.
Six Samurais mentioned!! My fellow Samurais, today's a good day.
0:30 Idea for a “Substitoad” retrain that’s ALSO based on a name pun:
_Froggy Mirror_ (WATER)
Level 1
Pendulum Scales: 7⬅️➡️7
_You can apply each of the effects of “Froggy Mirror” once per turn:_
⚪️Target 1 face-up monster on the field: Change this card’s pendulum scale to match that target’s Level, Rank or Link.
⚪️Target 1 face-up spell/trap on the field: Place 1 spell/trap from your hand or deck on the field who’s original name is the same as the target’s, but banish it if this card leaves the field.
Aqua/Pendulum/Tuner/Effect
_You can apply each of the effects of “Froggy Mirror” once per turn:_
⚪️Target 1 face-up monster on the field: Change this card’s level to match that target’s Level, Rank or Link.
⚪️Target 1 face-up monster on the field: Special Summon 1 monster from your hand or GY who’s original name is the same as the target’s, but banish it if this card leaves the field.
ATK/0 DEF/2100
This is breakable, but I don't know how
As of a week or two ago I have been checking out the YGO TCG for the first time in a bunch of years, since before Pendulums were a thing... and when trying to do some deckbuilding, I very frequently had the sentiment of: "Wait... they unbanned WHAT?!"
Notably including the entire top three of this video.
I remember when Exciton Knight was $80--Konami was selling $80 roaches lol
Top 10 cards "at home" (i.e; either budget versions of expensive cards, or weaker replacements for banned or limited cards)
Cross-Sheep (Spright Elf at home, 2023 Tear)
Shuffle Reborn (Norden at home, 2017 Zoo)
Messenger of Peace (Mystic Mine at home, 2023 Runick)

Dark Nepthys (Dark Armed Dragon at home, 2008 DAD Return & TeleDAD)
Shien's Dojo (Gateway of the Six at home, 2011 Six Samurai)
Allure of Darkness (Pot of Desires at home, 2016)
Divine Wrath (Solemn Warning at home, 2010)
It's been a while since I've updated any decks, but I actually have a spirits deck already constructed. Can I run 3x Yata-Garasu in it these days??
I think you can run 3 birds
Damn man every session I regret😂. I literally gotta wait another month to binge some more of yuh good content cause its just so binjable but now gotta reup lol finna binge some mittensquad & Dotayota while I w8. Keep makin the good stuff (if you like it ofc).
Finally! Can you do top 10 of Tea's Cards or how about top ten monsters that look like pokemon?
I just got started playing Duel Links and (barely) Master Duel, but I'm wondering, why isnt' there an option to individually select cards from the ingame shop? For example I want a specific card but I have to search where it's boxed and keep drawing until I get it? Also is this also a thing if I were to play, say for example the DS games.
You can craft cards in Master Duel
i'm not sure why Konami didn't just errata Substitoad so it's effect could only be used once per turn.
I like that Monster Reborn was un- and rebanned. It's a very iconic card that they wanted to be playable again as soon as possible :)
A shoutout goes to my boy Yata-Garasu for being among the first cards banned in Yu-Gi-Oh's history. Love Yata shenaningans. Lol.
Hey Duel Logs, can you do a Top 10 Strongest (Or weakest) Earth Monsters video?
Top 10 Yugioh cards with Yugioh cards in the art.
I've always hated Raigeki. The fact they refused to reprint it and bring it to a reasonable price for decades meant you'll always lose in tournaments to rich kids (not that it's any different nowadays, but it was even more annoying back in the day).
Yata Garasu is definitely worth mentioning
Fun fact, yata garasu canonically became a magistus familiar and lived out the rest of his days happily.
I remember people saying exciton could never come off because a generic tank 4 wipe is too strong
Stupid question, but could monster reborn comeback to 3? Or would it just break the game.
Can you make a tier list of best Pendulum archetypes?

as a six samurai player, once you lose gate-way you are f_cked lol
"No downsides, just power!" - Kaiba, probably...
I'd like to see some kind of video about cards only banned to sell new cards. So insulting how they would do that just to sell new cards.
Just to note.
You say that Gateway of the six is good because it's not a hard once per turn.
From what I played in Master Duel, it's good because it's not once per turn at all. If it was a soft once per turn, I'm sure it would be nowhere near as good.
My love for *Frog the Jam* will never end
Can't wait for a video about "top 10 Cards that should be banned but aren't"
say the line!
"expect Frog the Jam"
YAY!
2:20 Wait what? How is Zenmaity still banned? Is Komoney really afraid of Wind-up handloops in 2024? Its like being afraid of a Jowgen lock in Spellbooks, lol.
Can anybody tell them that we have handtraps and much better decks now?
Because they are lazy and handle the list like a joke with the existing content in it..
“Except Frog the Jam” is the worst offender
Power Creep sure has gone a long way.
You are doing God's work. Thank you!
Logs, you're not going to discuss with "Heavy Storm" is released in the OCG by limited status?
I’VE NEVER SEEN MORAY OF GREED BEFORE AND THAT IS ONE OF THE MOST VILE ABOMINATIONS I’VE EVER SEEN
Snatch Steal is probably the most meta relevant unbanned cardat this point, followed by Feather Duster. I fear Konami may ban Snatch again but i hope I'm wrong
What about Spellbook of judgememt? The most powerful card ever printed?😊
Can you make a Video about the synchron archetype ?
Gateway of 6 Samurai should 100% be #1
Big deal for pendulums is that the entire mechanic got nerfed lol
462 days since substitoad got unbanned and no reprint. The only use for this is for Edison format. This card shouldn't be $30+. Yea other cards have come off with no reprint sence but those have claimed back down.
Ronintoad can go to three too.😊
Slight correction, Gateway of the Six wasn't even that good when it got banned. It was one of the weirdest banlists ever.
#1 (in a year): Maxx "C": it's happening
Lol no
Theyll unban pot of greed before they unban "let your opponent go +10 or end your turn"
@@dorugoramon0518 Just play Floowandereeze baby

I still have PEPE trauma
No Snatch Steal?
Shout out to a minor error when talking about searchable back row negates he put salad rage instead of roar
Cant you still link of monsters with mind control or am i thinking of something else
It seems funny to me that pendulum decks are non existent. Synchro, link & fusion truly dominate modern Yu-Gi-Oh. Kashtira is the only meta deck at the moment that uses xyz that I can think of. Although pendulum is kinda fun to use it is by far the worst summoning mechanic because of the scales. I use Raigeki, Harpie's Feather Duster & Lightning Storm in my Dragonmaids deck; just have to get Dark Ruler No More & the latter cards can be used without negation.
ogs remember the REAL thumbnail smh
A 👏 B 👏 C 👏 DRAGON BUSTER
Anyone else notice that the Thumbnail kept changing with some of the other banned cards on it?
Cauwe after you board in shien. Legendary and shogun the board basically stood still unless they died
Moray of greed looked a bit too sus on the first glance holy
Im more suprised imperial order wasn't on the list. That card was so good it had to be rebanned after they errata'd it
It is not currently unbanned.
