i own the sport Suzi 2012 and for me its a great car. Its reliable, low cost, easy to maintain, fun, long lasting parts (dont care for the interior), nice looking, comes fully loaded with everything. I LOVE my Suzi and it will always have a sweet spot for me but, i havent tried the renault

Love mine too. Massive amounts of fun without a massive drain on finances.
NGL, these guys really drove these cars at an impressive level. They got so close to each other's bumpers at some parts, and it's difficult to push that hard.
They were both successful BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) drivers.

Everybody who's driven a twingo sport says its amazing, but equally everyone I know who has owned a Renault has had lots of mechanical problems, thats why I'd go for the swift. They are a really good value second hand buy now!
The Mk2 Sport is excellent value now, and they are awesome little cars. Economical too if you don't drive it hard all the time; I get 43-45mpg from mine commuting to work, and better than 50mpg driven carefully.
Found a 2014 one at 47k miles for £6k

I have the first generation Swift Sport and I agree those kind of cars offers great fun for cheap !
Cheating at the start, 700 euros for improving the chassis, two times BTCC champion behind the wheel and lost in all three tests. not so good for Renault.
Tiff is former F1 driver.
tiff is my favorite tv auto test driver, but Jason is probably a little faster on the track right now. I'm just not thrilled with the Renault
Nanorisk Tiff Needell had a forgettable F1 career with Ensign in 1980 - he retired from his first race and did not qualify for his second. So basically he only raced in 1 race and did not even finish. In other words... Not really a "former F1 driver"
Basel Kader He was a former F1 driver. By definition, anyone who managed to pass FIA super licence test is granted a super licence, which made he/she an F1 driver, regardless of the actual results and career length. Of course there are good drivers and not-so-good ones, but their driving skills are far superior than us normal chaps, not a doubt. They also have to win lower tier races to get there in the first place.

Great reviews. Both cars are brilliant for handling and cornering on country roads.

Why?
Renault sports has far better handeling n control on sharp turns . suspension is far far smooth n soft . swift sudpension is still n hard . on straight track swift leads but on such curvy tracks this rensult is far better than swift n same we can see in video . The via of cutting border margine of Renault n swift has a clear difference .

The Twingo LOOKS sportier LOOKS but its not more sportier and the Swift, when you watch it clearly with your eyes is incredible

The normally aspirated 1.6 Veloster would lose badly against the Swift, about the same power but almost 200kg heavier. The turbocharged version may be a little faster, but it's about 270kg heavier than the Swift.

I bought my Mrs an 08 Suzuki swift sport very disappointing these later generation will be a lot better the car we had was very basic , electric windows.climate control that's it , I bought an Astra Gte 16v in 1990 that was Better equipped 30 years ago truelly the most basic car after my first a 87 Escort 1.8dgl

In the professional rallies the Swift can never beat the Twingo, this is just a journalistic test with a written script where it's said the swift must be better than Twingo, it's just a hidden advertising made by mercantile car journalists
