@@LivingOurDreamNow Please do. I have a desire to return again after 20 years since last seeing BBNP. It was 20 years since the time before that. Am I giving away my age? Ha ha My apartment manager in East Texas manages some property in or near BB Ranch SP. I'm inclined to visit the state park option while out west, too.

How beautiful. We would love to walk down to the river and have a cup of coffee in the morning. Next time we will do that for sure. What a great site. How far in advanced did you book? Cool catch of the Big Horn Sheep, loved watching them climb to the top of the rocks. When you talked about a bolder falling down made us think of a Roadrunner and Wile E Coyote Looney Tunes Cartoon. Great hikes, Big Horn Sheep, cool river and beautiful views. Can't think of a better way to spend five days. Thank you for sharing. Mary💕Fred

I believe the maximum reservation window for Texas State Parks is 5 months out. There was always an empty site at the time of our visit (only 4 available at this campground). Be sure to catch our video on Maverick Ranch RV Resort. We stayed there before departing the area. Lou

Fabulous video of Big Bend Ranch State Park !! The visitor center was so big. And it was so nice that they had a gift shop too...thats always a nice added touch ! lol Q: the sticks, between the rock posts, around the visitor center, were they a line of tree's, that they cut off at the tops, or was it sticks that they stuck down between rope's to make a natural looking fence? It was kinda hard to see, but it showed it closer by the water spigot where you all filled up your water jugs. I agree with you, this place can really "wow" ya for sure. Amazing scenery ! I think you had a "prize" campsite also !! REALLY? a $5,000 fine?!! "whew-wee!"... Aww, Lou, come on now, Im sure you could have put on some camo gear, little dirt on your face, and run across the border, quickly grab Melody a rock, or 2, and made it back before anyone would have caught you !! lol That was cool that you got to walk from your site to the river!. Oh wow, no cell service? How would someone get help, if there was an accident of some kind? The white water did remind me of WV, or the VA mountains, and back in Feb. when you were there....Heck no , it was not even near 70 around these parts !! lol The Big Horn sheep was soo awsome to see ! Love those huge prickly pear cactus !! They are so pretty! What a peaceful evening that looked like, I'll bet Melody made a special, and very tasty supper that night....but no campfire ? were they even allowed ? Beautiful sunrise that next morning too !!! I bet that cup of coffee tasted mighty fine down by the Rio Grande!!! Nice trail hike you went on. Yeah, the big rocks that tumbled down was a little ...scary...but you dont know when they fell. The canyon was really cool, it did get narrow at some points, But, wow, they were super sky high for sure!!! The overlook was incredible ! The rock formations were wild looking! So cool that the Big Horn sheep made a special appearence for your video, I bet they knew you were filming that for me , and wanted to get themselves on in there, so I could see some wildlife !! lol Fantastic job on this video Lou, Melody, and Milo !!! Thank you for having us along !! vicky

@@LivingOurDreamNow LOL..No I dont take notes! Thats funny! Sometimes I watch them a few times, to catch everything, and to also see whats going on around you, because they are so fun and interesting! (I hope it doesnt anoy you !) lol I have not had a chance to travel like that for many, many years, and enjoy watching some of the things and places you all go to , or things you get to do ! And alot of the places I have never been to before either. Thank you for sharing, and letting me "tag" along !! lol ; )

Those look more like Barbary Sheep, than desert bighorns.

Around $10 per night as I recall. Exact current rate is available on the Texas State Parks camping reservation website.
