It would give a nice insight into the industry, and probably make us all a bit street smarter when it comes to outfitting their gym, like I’m currently trying to do. Love your stuff!
would def dig a review of the bells plate loaded. there arent many. ive been going back and forth between this, the xmark and the bells for my next addition.
I switched to giant from titan... OMG such a huge difference. Better quality and it's cheaper (Admittedly partially because of the "gluck" code). The owner and other staff at giant are very personal and transparent. Plus they go above and beyond to handle issues. Literally everything I've gotten from them has been quality. The only issues I've had turned out to be a janky usps guy.
Hi man! I've had this lat pulldown tower for a few weeks, and I agree with everything you said. The top part of my tower also came scuffed and had a few scratches to the upright. Funny enough, half of the tools also came out flying for me, too. Lat pull-downs and arm workouts feel amazing. It's definitely a 1:1 ratio, lol. My biggest concern is the low pulley. As you mentioned, it's too low, and it rubs on the foot tube. I have only done a few testing sets doing seated rows, and the tubing already has a deep groove from the cable rubbing. I can send photos if interested. Giant needs to find a solution to that issue. It's a big factor in purchasing this lat and row tower. Also, the foot tubing is too short and makes it comfortable for rowing while seated. They should make it the same length as the foot plates. I did have to email them several times about the instructions, and they were super nice and helpful about it. Because of this, I'm willing to keep on purchasing future equipment from them.
I came across this review and watched it mainly because I own the GDLF super ultra cheap budget lat pulldown machine. The GDLF (may be "good life"?) machine is fine, but I can tell the Giant is much better just from your review. The ONLY advantages GDLF has over Giant are the price and better assembly instructions. For the GDLF, I've got old brake rotors resting on the base to help hold it down (it is incredibly lightweight). The pulleys are nylon, and I've already replaced a carabiner. I have to remove the seat if I want to do vertical pulls from the low pulley. I've already started wearing the top cable sheath from lots of face pulls because the front pulley isn't "open" like you pointed out on the Giant. I also upgraded the bars w/ MAG grip knockoffs. The cable likes to twist during every set, so I added a swivel and anchor shackle to help untwist it. So for anyone considering the GDLF, there's my 2 cents.
Just ordered through your link. There are some small nuances to this specific model that make it really stand out. Now I just gotta wait for the pre-order to ship in March!
This is a fantastic review. I think a lot of folks will pick this up. I had to go with one that connects to my rack because of space challenges. Thanks so much for sharing.
Oooh, this one is tempting. I've been thinking about the plate loaded cable tower from Bells, and this is just a little bit more. Slightly different purposes, I know, but this is tempting.
Giant is awesome. I’ve been talking with them for awhile about equipment while I built my gym. I think this is definitely the best standalone option out there by far
This is the second product I purchased this based o. Your reviews. Hoping it gets here next week. I also grabbed their push sled, hoping that is decent quality. I had been leaning towards Vulcan, been awhile since I ordered from theem. The Gluck code still works, Thank you
I received the pull down, it is about like you described, the included instructions are a schematic, that is essentially useless. The video is helpful. I also ordered the sled but haven't put it together yet.
That code "gluck" is the truth. Plus since switching from Titan Fitness because of multiple issues (Shout out to BBB), I've been super happy with the quality and customer service from Giant Lifting. The plates are premium (I weighed the bumpers I got from them and they were all on the mark) as well as the collars, bar and other things I got from them and other things I've just ordered *sigh*. Of course with the code "gluck". I think I could have room for this, though. Also been happy with stuff from Plate Snacks as well. Also, gotten with your code from your site. Oh, your kid is adorable.
This is almost an exact copy of the ATX stand alone lat pull down (I have had one in my home gym for 4 years) they have since made some improvements on there’s to make it easier to put together.
After Glucks review. They sold out quick. Just came back in stock today. I ordered the Newer version with updated foot plate. Ships out around Thanksgiving. Plus I saved 10%, with Gluck discount. Thank you lots.
@alphaomega7758 Horrible. The box supplied a blow out diagram. Not good. On Giant Lifting Lat pulldown page there's a link to a more "detailed" instructions. All the bolts came loose in a small box with two bolts missing. Great VALUE product, shitty instructions and packaging. Have patience.
Nice review! Sometimes I wish I had gone with the plate loaded version over the selectorized version. You can't do cable side laterals on the selectorized as the range of motion is so short. It's also easier to make a saefty squat setup with the plate loaded.
I ordered the new lat pull down based on this video (used your promo) especially because of the vertical pull. I plan on trying this bad boy for some belt squats, I might need to make the seat quick release, but in theory should be able to use it like a rhino lite. Have you tried any belt squat variation or hip thrusts with the low row? The low row on this might sneakily be the most versatile element of the machine.
Great review! But now you have confused me with great information. I was pretty set on going with a cable tower. Now it seems that the lat pulldown option can do many, if not most of the things the cable tower can do. I am looking the option of a lat pulldown like this vs. something like the BOS Cable tower. Other than sitting on the floor for lat pulls, it seems to me that the cable towers offer me more exercise options on a budget. Thoughts?
I had that super cheap Amazon lat pull down. It worked. Wasn’t smooth. Couldn’t do curls because the front would lift. But it worked ok for lat pull downs and triceps. Low row was ok too. Was nice to have it during the pandemic. I gave it away to a kid down the street. I haven’t seen it in the trash so I think he likes it ok too 😂
I’ve got a 6 post Titan T3 Rack. 36” with 24” extension. Debating between the Titan T3 Rack Attached Lat Pulldown and Low row, or this one with Giant as a standalone unit. In a 2 car garage but I can only use my half of the garage 😆 what would you recommend? They’re about the same price point but I’m more concerned about the footprint the standalone unit would take up. But if I go the T3 route I’m guessing the quality would be about on par with the standalone unit you reviewed and nylon pulleys. 🤔
They updated the instructions with a lot better step by diagrams. Seems like they took a lot of your feedback and made some meaningful changes. I went to go purchase this they gave a 50 dollar discount in addition to your referral discount.
I've got both the original and V2. I was going to do a new vid on the V2 and I've been looking at the tower but having to buy all their stuff makes it a little harder to justify atm
@@GlucksGym FWIW I have and enjoy the bench for its versatility. Their tower would be my cheapest option, but the tower would have to either be placed in the middle of the room or moved around every time you use it because the high pulley is on the opposite side of the tower as the low pulley. 🤷🏼♂️
I’ve read that the plates are awfully close to your knees when using this. Is that the case? I’m 6’1”; can I still get a full stretch with this machine?

How would you feel about this lat pulldown versus a rack accessory based one? I'm thinking of getting the Rep Fitness plate-loaded Lat Pulldown for my PR4000.
Standalone units almost always work better than an integrated system but the trade off is that you need the additional space. Rep's is pretty good and their prices are similar but the advantage Rep has is you can upgrade to sectorized down the road. Otherwise the quality of the two is pretty close.
I got an idea. how about a comparison (or what the heck we're looking for ) in bands. Everyone sells a different version and the price range is all over. From simple and easy to I"m a monster powerlifter, how do we know which is worth money and time or not? (also relatively cheap).

I ordered this and just put it together. Wow. Definite quality control issues with their manufacturing partner. The threaded inserts in the ends of the guide rails aren't aligned properly so the screws will only go in at an angle. This results in the guide rails not being parallel with each other and serious friction/resistance as the weight carriage slides up on the rails. Very disappointing. I've emailed Giant and hoping they can provide an acceptable solution. Anyone else encounter an issue like this?
They eventually responded to me. They recommended loosening the screws which allows for a little wiggle room and the carriage slides better. I had already done that before they responded. It helped, but I’m not happy with the overall quality of the machine. It may be the best you can get for the money; I don’t know. Regardless, I wish that I had spent more money to get a higher quality machine. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend Giant to anyone.
@@jasonshoaf8484 Thanks for responding! Yikes, I wish I saw your comment before purchasing. They had a prime day deal last week and bought base on this review. Mine comes in tomorrow so hopefully no issues. I am surprised they could not send you a replacement part and only recommended loosening the screw.
So I thought it was hilarious when I went on their site, chose "free shipping" and then saw the price go up $100. If you are going to charge $100 for shipping just own it.
They can ask but we get so many requests that I get to be very very picky. If it doesn't interest me or I don't think think my audience will watch I move on. To answer your comment though, we've been offered money, larger affiliate percentages, they spam us, try to make themselves look exclusive, and the list goes on. Yes! Who doesn't like a quality negative Nancy rant? You should keep a running list of your most despised overtures, then make a video with names masked to protect the guilty, e.g. U.S. based theme park in Tokyo.
@@ivoryG37 did you run into any issues?
So I thought it was hilarious when I went on their site, chose "free shipping" and then saw the price go up $100. If you are going to charge $100 for shipping just own it.
I want those donut plates.
So they’re going to redo the instructions that the Chinese made, and make them more easily to follow?
Is that what you’re eating?
I would like to know about the shenanigans that companies pull to get you to review their stuff. Don't even have to name the companies.
They can ask but we get so many requests that I get to be very very picky. If it doesn't interest me or I don't think think my audience will watch I move on. To answer your comment though, we've been offered money, larger affiliate percentages, they spam us, try to make themselves look exclusive, and the list goes on. Some of it I address in this video ruclips.net/video/5pMXHkfAEvY/видео.html but maybe it's time for that why we don't review certain things video.
same. give us the inside scoop
Yes! Who doesn't like a quality negative Nancy rant? You should keep a running list of your most despised overtures, then make a video with names masked to protect the guilty, e.g. U.S. based theme park in Tokyo.
Speaking of themes, a nice precursor could be a ridonkulously buzz-word marketed tripping over itself compilation of Amazon fitness favorites. LSMFT
Evil algorithm!!
😈
I have purchased many items from giant lifting and all of their instructions are awful
