Vitamin E oil. I struggle with beard dandruff. I tried the exfoliating and all the beard shampoos and essential oils with no satisfying results. Started studying vitamin difficiencies and tried vitamin E oil. Applied with a q-tip to rub directly into the skin. It was the only thing that worked for me to keep it under control. Also I found coffee could be an issue sad to say. I usually drink 2-3 cups of coffee a day. Went on a work trip and just didnt have any coffee for 2 weeks. Not a drop. Realized that my dandruff issue pretty much cleared up. Came back home started drinking coffee again and dandruff came back!
The only thing that worked for me was APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. I put some in my beard oil, at a ratio of about 5 parts oil 1 part ACV, and used that every day, and in about 3 or 4 days, my itching and irritation disappeared, and so did the dry skin. Give it a go!
@@jeffbrooks2572 take a shower 2 times every day once when you get up and once before bed and apply a small amount of triple antibiotic ointment/neosporin ointment to the flaking spots that cleared it up for me the ointment will keep the skin from drying out and if its caused by bacterial infection the antibiotics in the ointment will go to work just remember you don't need a lot a little goes a long way also if you don't already do it wash your pillowcase every 3 days
So I keep my beard pretty short in comparison to yours, but I work on a boat and I'm the galley chef so I can't have shit falling into the food I make. I pulled some pieces off of my face that were freaking huge. It's getting to the point I was considering shaving my beard super short. I'll try all these techniques.
I'm now on my 3rd (or 4th) beard. I have Beardruff. This current beard is maybe a week old, and already the flakes are falling. I no longer use beard oils, beard balms or butters and have severely cut back on the use of beard washes - all because I believe the ingredients are what is irritating my skin. And the added fragrances just aggravate the situation. I have just applied Coconut oil to my facial skin. If I can not get this under control, then I'm off to see my Dermatologist also.
I got it a week ago and looking into remedies. I'm most convinced to shave the whole beard off to take care of the skin treatment as I've never had skin issues before. Had the beard for about a year but I guess I can look into the correct balm and wash my beard separately from the shower. It's a really good beard and look dang good with it but the dead skin surprise really makes one feel self-conscious. Thank you on the quick tips. I'll change it up for like a week or two before I convince myself to cut it off and seeking professional help. Grow it again but better grooming techniques.
Only thing that works for me is always putting beard oil after a shower.... ..and i noticed too...make sure you fully dry your beard with the towel when you come out of the shower...! if I let it dry naturally..I usually get flakes the day after...
I use the almish soap bar its great washes my face and beard beautifully i also coat my beard with coconut oil at night it makes it strong supple soft and shiny.
Yeah every night by the fire I oil my beard a little bit with grease from the meat's fat , and as you say in your advice I always wash my beard in the cold morning rain whenever rains but in the months that don't the beer that spills helps moisturise it too!
Thanks for the video and the tips. I have dandruff in my beard, some kind of severe so I went to a dermatologist and was told I have dermatitis on the face and scalp Also symptoms of Rosaceae a skin disease which is heavier blushing of the cheeks and redness and flaking skin. Sometimes associated with alcoholism and can also involve acne in heavier cases. Beard on brotha!

I have beard dandruff and its fucking nasty when you can see it all over my black shirts.. I got beard balm to kind of tame it and never really used it and even though now its short I still get flakes. I need to moisturize more
Yes and that's why our beards can't get enough moisture in our faces, it's worst living in dry Ass state like Florida but the mask makes its drier which kills skin cells
@@mareo187 dry…. In Florida ? What are u talking about maybe I’m the dumb one but does it not rain there like every week and it’s always humid out not dry
@@No1reallydies not every week it rains, but the weather here is very bi polar. Sometimes it gets very cold, then very hot, and next there is heavy rain that comes out of nowhere just like what happened this January. It's mainly dry throughout the year with some cases of heavy rain fall. But when it gets cold it doesn't stay too long and shifts from cold to hot and cold again
I just figured this out before I got into the show a few minutes ago, and figured I would share it . If you have a long mustache and use dandruff shampoo - let me tell you how you stop having that nasty taste, all day, after you're done . Before you get into the shower, put about a teaspoon, or less if that is too much, in your mouth and keep it there while you shampoo . After you rinse your hair and mustache, put your hand up against your mustache and spit the baking soda mix into your hand and rub it in your mustache . Of course, if you are not a real man, I guess you could put the baking soda mixture in a cup and do it the sissy way ... After you rinse, there is no trace left to taste or smell .
I came across this when I noticed small snowflakes on my black shirts and was starting to do some research. Great intro to my problem, thanks for your time and effort.
I will try all that. I have a big nice beard but very dry skin and I use coconut oil every day. But dry it with very hot air and very hot showers lol. I will stop that. Thanks 😊
Hot water does not dry your skin. It actually opens the pores, therefore helping the skin to retain more moisture than it would otherwise. Further, the number of follicles is totally irrelevant to the effectiveness of any products. What makes the difference is the fact that the head produces sebum in larger volume and at a faster rate than the face does. Because of this, the beard requires gentler products and cleansers with much less astringent properties. You're welcome.
Hey amazing video and really thank you so much but i really hope you accept my feedback positively and with kind heartedly - really not offensive - but i would truely be so happy if the background music was just a bit lower because i had a little bit of problem hearing you :( sorry not a good listener myself 🙈💜
Oh no, no no no i found the first sings of beardruff. Thought this wil never happen to me but its kinda hard to exfoliate under a yeard. Another reason to keep ma beard, I just keep hiding it!
Avoid comogenic oils such as coconut oil or over using beard oil. Less is more. Also, avoid scratching because there's lots of nasties under your fingernails which can lead to ingrown hairs.
Can any of you beautiful bearded bastards recommend some good, clean products to use? I’ve been using Grave Before Shave shampoo, conditioner, and oil... But I still get dry skin. Thinking about switching products to see if that remedies the situation. Thanks in advance fellas
