I fouled like two plugs so I always put it to white map (lean) instead of rich (green) obviously doing away with the carb With my 125 I had to get an 85cc spark plug but I’m not to sure about the 250 and 300. After the fixed issue bike runs great

@@utmx the TBI runs 60:1 premix. There is no separate oil reservoir on the 23. So are you saying the sensor just dumps more fuel if it needs more oil because the only oil coming in is from the fuel tank, already mixed.

We switched it to a hotter plug and no issues since!
Plugs these days are Way too fickle too (at any rate you can and will have plugs last only like 20hrs more often then back in my 91 yz100 daze)
Everything was better in the good old days!
interesting...I have been hearing others having this issue. Super annoying.
Only Idled for 30 seconds if that! Been going fine since he switched the plug but we'll see how it goes!
Diggin the channel….great info!!!
Thanks man! I hope to do tons more videos soon! Had a baby so I had to slow down for a while haha
Are you mixing 60:1 like they recommend?
Not my bike. But he did what they recommend. Lots of them are fouling plugs. Everyone says not to let it idle cold hardly at all and to rev it a bit
ditch the junk iridium plugs and put a good ngk in there
That solved the issue!
Never have I fouled a plug on mine. I'm running 60 to 1 mix. Maybe your mix is too rich. 2023 ktm 300 xc
Not sure what happened. Never happened again after that
What is the solution i've had 15 plugs in 7 hours multiple dealer visits whats the soltuion?\
Change plug to the br7 instead of the br8. Do not let it idle cold. Right when you start it up for the first time Crack the throttle and give it some revs without letting it just idle cold. Then just start riding
I have a 2023 KTM 125 XC I have already had 9 blown spark plugs
I have a 2023 KTM 125 XC I have already had 9 blown spark plugs
I'm at 23 hours and only fouled one park plug
Only fouled that first one. Been great since
Fouled two but the fault was The Dealers Mix of Gas. I had to switch to the White Map I have TC125 BTW so it runs entirely different than the 250s and 300
@@eric6rock never trust the dealer haha
What kind of riding are you doing? I have 65 hours on my 2023 300xc original plug never had an issue yet.
Not my bike. My buddies. We mostly do single track. Flowy with technical sections. This happened the 2nd ride. Desert single track. Once we put a hotter plug we haven't had the issue again. Probably 30 hours now no issue.
I haven’t fouled any plugs on my 2023. What ratio are you running ?
Awesome! It's my buddies bike. He's doing whatever the dealer told him to do
No wonder the 24's are already out
🤣🤣
Have 64.4hrs on my ‘23. Fouled 1 plug. Lean your mixture up, use a better plug and hell play with the gapping to.
There is a new software update that came out for the bike less than a month ago that addresses this
Thanks! I'll tell my buddy that owns the bike
I’m having same issues with mine, I’ve got a 24 300xc TBI, I foul a plug every 2nd ride. Im going to put in a BR7 plug (stock is br8) this weekend and see how that goes
Yes try that plug! Also don't let it idle for warm up at all! Like 30 seconds. Then ride it around chill untill it's warm then rip it!
@@utmx hmmm okay, I’m going to put BR7ES plug in it, but when your warming it up, do you push the yellow knob in and let it idle for 30 seconds then turn it off and then ride chill?
I’m new to the 2 stroke scene so warm up procedures etc. I don’t really know to much about
@@ASHYAUS523 gotta warm these bikes up like a carburated bike. Start it let it idle for 10 seconds then light revving thorttle blips slowly increasing as it warms up the sound will change it it will sound like it clears out
@@RegularSledding awesome thanks for that mate, appreciate it!!
@ASHYAUS523 I use the knob if it's cold outside. I turn it on. Crack the throttle a few times put my helmet on the. Ride chill for a min then normal
Hey I got a 23 125 xc and already fouled 2 plugs in 2 hours. Anybody got any idea on what I should do?
Try the hotter plug. Also don't let it idle very much. When you turn it on Crack the throttle and don't let it idle long. Just start riding
Also I've heard some people called their dealer and got it updated with a reflash that fixed it
Alright, yesterday when I rode though, I idled it for a little, gave it a few revs, then i went off it started bogging and died. How long should I be warming it up stationary before heading out? Also what plug would you recommend? I got a BR10 right now that came stock but of course I'm having issues with that. I appreciate the help greatly by the way and happy thanksgiving! @@utmx
@polish7657 sorry didn't see this! Try a hotter plug? I've also heard some people need to take it back to the dealer to get it reflashed! Also don't let it idle long at all. Like 30 seconds tops then rev it and clear out the boggy oil sound untill its crisp them ride it around to get it warm! Make sure you ride in higher rpms as well! 2 strokes like to scream!
Never fouled a plug once.
Nice! Only fouled that first one and never had a problem again
@@utmx we're actually looking to race the Baja 400 this year on mine.
@@panic-revv85 dang heck yeah man have fun
I can see the plug from your vid. U can’t tell me there’s no way to get that thing changed out with out pulling the tank?
Haha dude go to a ktm shop. Go to a tbi 300xc and see if you can get the plug out.
Never idle 2-strokes! Omg.
They should be able to idle for a few min while putting your helmet on and buckling boots
Go to a hotter plug I guess
Yep! No problem since
You messed with the forbidden knob, you thought it was the idle adjustment knob. But it wasn't. When I picked mine up from the dealer. The shop guy said this is your idle adjustment knob. Then he pointed at another knob and he said dont ever touch that knob. I asked him what it does and he said "it fucks your bike up"
We never touched any knobs lol. Guy said the same thing when we picked this up
I have the same one and the same thing is happening to me as you.
Don't let it idle during warm up. Just hop on and ride it till warm then rip it! Also the hotter plug works better!
Dudes that can't figure out a 2 stroke always get hurt when they get their thumper in my rl experience
This is a dangerous sport, if you can't operate the bike get one you can that is much slower.
Haha I've been riding for 25 years. 2 stroke and 4 stroke... this bike you have to take the entire tank off to change the spark plug. That's a pretty crappy design if you ask me. Idk where you're coming up with your comments from haha. Acting like we know nothing because you watched 1 RUclips short?
Where are these comments coming from lol? Haha you think we can't operate a bike because I complained about an issue the bike has? This bike is built so that it regulates the jetting automatically. It shouldn't foul plugs... and you have to take the tank off to change the plug.. where are you getting that we can't operate a bike?
@@utmx comments came from coffee and trying to find good advice on RUclips for hours. Only to find a guy that rode 25 years and doesn't bother with premix ratio but posts this video
I'm over my 23 tbi 250xc. Since day one, it has ran like crud. Anyone want a MINT looking 5 hour 250xc for pennies on the dollar? Kremmling Colorado
Bummer man sorry to hear that! Someone else just said the same thing!! You try taking it to the dealer to reflash it or do any updates? Seems like the system is messed up and is telling it to run wrong
@@utmx I was probably that someone, been watching every tBI ktm video looking for a solution or tip to what might be wrong. I did get an update right after I purchased it about a year ago. They updated the programing, it had the fix for the pv light in it.
I am far from the dealership, and was not happy with the bike assembly and setup in the 1st place. I've been thinking of trying tbi tuning's remap then start over with pv learn, tps base voltage, fast and normal idle values, another new plug and whatever in correct order.
Both the oem and fmf silencers are saturated with fuel and oil. Runs clean on the pipe, but way to fat off the pipe. If I ride flat out race pace on the pipe for 10 minutes no spooge, but 10 Seconds off the pipe and it's like a 40 degree cold start. Been like this since day one, it never ran properly. I can provide a 30 Second clip link of the bike on the trail, you can hear it.
tank off to change the spark plug? what a fart about terrible design fault
Haha yeah idk what the thought process was on that one
You need to run a hotter spark plug....
We got one!
You can ‘idle’ a 2 stroke, (not for long) but you have to rev it every 5-10 sec to prevent the smoke from loading up causing back pressure on exhaust gasses, pulling it back in and combusting twice
💥
They foul em with the stock spark because it doesn’t run hot enough get a br9 for the 125 and br8 for 250-300 but mines got 13 hrs runs like a dream!
Thanks ryker! We switched it to that plug and so far so good!
250 comes stock with Br8 and mine is fouling
@@FairwayFind switch to a br7
@@ryetheg.o.a.t.1310 and it won’t damage anything? We can run them fine even if the bike comes with a br8? I ain’t too familiar with these problems that’s why i am asking, Because i am still running rich and i have no clue how to fix it dealership said everything was fine but each time i check my plug after a ride it’s black
@@FairwayFind should be fine if say, it just burns the oil off the spark plug quicker and ur bike will run hotter
You don’t have to take the tank off I have also have one
How do you get it out without taking the tank off?
Take the 2 front bolts out on each side of plastics where they screw into the radiator up front. Take seat off and tank bolt loose or out and just lift tank up a little to get in there. I have a 23 250xc and thats how i do it. Takes all of 5 minutes.
i am a ktm tech your bike was not properly set up from the dealer ship
It works great now!

Wat ratio u feeding her
It's my buddies bike so not sure. Just what the dealer recommended
Lmao mine hasn’t fouled one yet at 15 hours and runs flawlessly, everywhere.
Nice!! My tpi never fouled one. 100hrs
How do you warm yours up?
@@utmx I push the cold start button if it’s cold, if it’s in the upper 60s or above, I just start it l, let it idle for about a minute, blip the throttle a few times. Once it’s warm enough to idle without wanting to die, I ride easy for a couple minutes then let her rip.
Absolutely no issues with mine , zero
🙌🙌glad to hear!
I don't believe that. Upload a video of holding a constant trail speed for a few seconds. I bet it's running muddy like the rest.

My 23 tbi fouled on the pipe several times before 5 hours, still runs horrible. No fix.
You won’t have that issue with the Beta or Sherco.
I used to have a beta 200rr! Awesome bikes!
Almost none of us are having that problem with the KTM/Husky either.
Actually, sherco 300se is extremely rich from factory. Sure it would foul plugs but it was an easy fix with the carb

Hmm your right were so bad a riding that the bikes mechanics work wrong during warm up and foul plugs! Your awesome. Keep being a keyboard warrior my man! Your so cool when you are rude to people on the internet!
Total BS……
?
He's probably talking about how you posted this whole rabbit hole without knowing the premix ratio. USELESS I think you work for the competition 50% now
Or your a total noob with little 2 stroke experience like we all were hard to tell. Gonna go buy one and find out. If you ride em long enough you just feel the plug temp in your wrist, nuts, eyes and ears. Can't explain it ride more , you won't foul a plug on the richest piece of shit then.
No offense if you're the noob, I learned the hard way, had to sniff a few tail pipes here and there, change alot of plugs. It's like almost always the riders fault on these things. Even most mechanicals, including spark plugs unless you just got a wacky problem which do occur very occasionally.
They foul spark plugs if you don't pin it.
💥
Don’t let it ideal duh how and why would u ever do that!
30 seconds
Any 2 stroke ever
🤣😜
Only issue with this 2 stroke is you have to take the dang tank off to switch the plug
@utmx i have to do that with most my bikes besides the 125 2 strokes, its no big deal
