Only time I have a problem is if someone touches the throttle while doing warm up but I do have my little routine to pull the cold start nob and wait until rads are warm to touch shut of cold start and go ride somewhat gentle until you feel its fully warmed up, haven’t fouled a plug since I’ve been doing this but still carry a spare just in case! 😂

Carbs are not old school, tpi and tbi are gimmicks to pass government environmental regulations. I agree that’s good for the sport overall but it doesn’t make them automatically better than the traditional option.
Carbs would limp you home, tbi and tpi would make you push that bike from the gates of hell to your truck.

Do a wide open spark plug chop and check the colour if it's white it's running lean up top.
If it's light coffee colour it's safe.

I had this issue with my 23 TC125.
For me the mapping is for my altitude and also the dealers mix of gas could be an issue. I fouled like two plugs so I always put it to white map (lean) instead of rich (green) obviously doing away with the carb
With my 125 I had to get an 85cc spark plug but I’m not to sure about the 250 and 300. After the fixed issue bike runs great

30 sec idle I thought new ktms tpi fuel injection that supposedly runs lean poss too much oil in fuel mix. Black dry powder fouling: overly rich fuel mixture or too cool plug heat range. White with cracked ceramic or melted electrode too hot plug heat range or too lean a fuel mixture. Damaged plug with light tan color, detonation, too low a fuel octane used.
