I can, freeze, and dehydrate my garden harvests. I’d love to freeze dry my harvests but a freeze dryer is just not in my affordability. I don’t foresee it in the future either so I’d like more ideas to dehydrate into jar meals. I know the shelf life for freeze dried is longer and also better to retain nutrients. Wish I could!

One thing that I like to do is to "enhance" canned beef stew. I open a can of whatever brand I have and add a can of my home canned roast. In a separate pan ( or the microwave), I cook or steam some cut up carrots 🥕, potatoes 🥔, and onions 🌰. Mushrooms 🍄 if I have them. Then add the veggies to the beef stew and heat through. Season to taste.😋

Beef soup. Sauté onions and garlic. Add beef and get it a bit browned. Add water a can of potatoes and can of carrots. Sinner for about 3t minutes

I buy the Keystone canned beef from Walmart online as a prep. One day I wanted to use it so I went to the Keystone website for recipes. Found a shepherd’s pie recipe that uses the beef, canned corn, green beans and top with mashed potatoes. Delicious!

    Great ideas!
I can just about all the meat that I buy. I get it on sale. The other day, Winn Dixie had chuck roasts on sale for $3.99/lb with a limit of 2. The sign in the meat department didn't say there was a limit, but I only got 2. When I checked out, the cadhier said, "You know you can only get one, roght?" I told him that the ad said limit 2 and the sale sign didn't even say that. He said , "It's one with a $20 purchase. Limit of 2." He had a sale paper and, yes in teeny letters it did say that. The writing is even smaller on my phone. He asked if I wanted to get more groceries to have another $20 transaction ... no. Or did I want the second roast at full price ($6.99/lb) ... no. I have never known of them to put a limit per transaction on meat sales except sometimes at Thanksgiving with the turkeys. I hope it doesn't become the norm with them.
So I will be canning only one roast. Or maybe I'll make beef stew since a cold front is moving in.

Anytime Jinne has hauls, recipes, or meal plans, I fill my water bottle, get comfy, and pull out my notebook 📓 and pen.😂 I keep it handy for jotting down recipes, items, or ideas that I see in videos. I scribble the recipes, using my own shorthand 😮, and pause if I need to. Later, I rewrite the recipe in a separate notebook. This has worked since my printer broke. If I get another one, I will be busy typing out all the recipes I've saved.

I take hamburger, onion chopped, basil, parsley and salt and pepper fry that together (if you don't want to add the basil and parsley you can leave it out)than when hamburger and onions are done than add a can of chicken gumbo soup,a tiny bit of water to rinse can and add that into meat mixture than add ketchup and yellow mustard not dry mustard ,kind in plastic squeeze bottle.(Use about 1/3 to 1/2 cup ketchup and mustard a good squeeze of it ,couple spoons full ,than mix that all together .taste it you dont want the mustard to over power its taste just so its got a little zing to it.🙂( As you have hamburger and onion frying and is done add these other ingredients right away and keep it simmering going on the stove , keep stirring it on and off for a about 5 minutes so it can all incorporate the flavors together.Serve as a sloppy joe type on a bun or bread if thats all you have.l used to make a crock pot full and had a tavern and we had pool leagues and ld feed the teams food while they were playing and after usually.a fella from league and how good they were and asked for recipe which l gave him,he wanted to give to his wife to make for him. You could take shredded cheddar cheese and sprinkle too on top of meat mixture and than the bun top and eat them that way too.Dont use grey poopon type brown mustard tho it changes the whole taste.,Or any pickle relish it will change the taste. Thanks Jinne for the other ideas for the hamburger meals.❤️
