  • I convert my home made river sluice into a HighBanker so that I can process my fine silts at my campsite high on the bank or even at home!
I built in as much adjustability as I could with water flow, bed angle and mat changeability. And with the high amount of iron sand at all my prospecting sites Ive got a whacking great big magnet under the first flow bed.

It trapped everything!!! Because it caught all the material you put in it!!! Wow. 😅 indeed a genius plan! I definitely was surprised by the vice grip metal bender though, very impressive.

Also a great idea. I have a motorised rocker box I'm rejuvenating
When panning give it a rigorous side to side action then a gentle back & forth motion or just gently dip pan in water and let it do the work. Been into gold for 53yrs.
    Top job....
    Cheers... just subbed too.😊

Most high bankers are built so the lighter stuff flows off and out trapping the heavier items behind the much smaller riffles. Looks like it works just a bit in reverse. Good job.

Nice build. Seal the tube of urethane well and keep it in the fridge. They last a lot longer. 🤔😁😀😎👌

Really interesting and clever build. You've given me some ideas for my own build.
Is that moss mat just Bunnings or backed doormat?

Great DIY video! Unfortunately I can't find the testing in the river! Could you please post the link? Thanks!

Something you might want to try is panning out your black sand, it can catch a lot of your fines. And since you use a magnet in your pan put a coffee filter over it to make sure it's easily cleaned off

Are you nuts! That defeats the build! Gotta do everything backwards.

"Highbanker"! And I thought it meant you smoked some reefer before you took your gold to the bank

No John - Im in Coro. we have dusty floury pan gold here. hardly worth the work but I have a 10 year old girl here who is obsessed with gold and gems. I head to two spots in Otago and one on the West Coast whenever I can

??? your expanded metal is put in side ways? YOu just defeated the purpose of having the expanded metal except for holding down your moss. I also like how those riffles of yours make nice ramps for the small gold to launch over things. By the way, yes, I usually build my own sluice or modify ones I purchase so I do know what I am talking about. Anyways, good luck.

just playing with what I have laying around. The alloy riffle bars DO work- yes the rubber matting was a flop at the speed and volume that Im achieving - but hey- Im just playing.
