- We continue to learn the ins and outs of snap weight fishing for walleye. A few walleye fishing tips and techniques get shared and a whole mess of walleye come to the net. We’re using snap weights to get worm harnesses down deep in Lake Erie where hungry walleye are hanging out. Much different from fishing lead core line we like how quick snap weights set up and also how the fish fight on straight monofilament line. Enjoy!

If you are catching on crawler harnesses, you can catch them on spoons and jet divers\dispsy divers. Speed it up 2.5mph.
That works too. Just not our usual program, especially in the spring.
Also how long are you getting charge on electric trolling motor?
The 24 volt system gets us about 6 hours.
Great video I was gonna go out this past weekend on Erie but I wanted to jig I’m not a big troller went cayuga to jig up some lakers instead first time catching and cooking lakers man they are just as tasty as walleye in my opinion.

What kind of swivel do you guys use to avoid line twist
We use Spro ball bearing style. But we still get some twist from time to time.
it looks like you guys have a very good landing ratio. What size hooks are you using or your harnesses? Are you sourcing beads from 3D as well as blades?
The front single hooks are size 4 and the back treble hook is a size 6.

I don't think catching fewer large fish means that more fish are in the lake. Between the Amish and Canadian netting the fish population is going to be hurting.
The fisheries biologists gave a great presentation on fish populations this spring. They talked a lot about the large number of fish in the lake with multiple good hatches. It means lots of small fish will be caught but for sure big fish still exist in numbers.
