      Dang, that is a big miss. I'm sure I recorded that but I must have accidentally cut it out while editing the video. I've added a correction to it that points viewers to the timestamp in the extended playthrough where this is explained. Thanks for pointing this out!

    That was a great intro! Only thing you missed is that during scoring, each player gets 3 victory points if they have the most resources (papyrus, limestone, Granite or bread) if tied, the person with most buildings wins.

    Hi Jon, Greta video thank you. I’m looking forward to gameplay videos until they release the game on Tabletopia so we can all try it firsthand 😉
    Just one small question: I’m pretty sure you can use faith tokens only to move the scales towards balance, you cannot choose on which side to put them

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 года назад +1

      I suppose you are right regarding faith tokens. It says you use them to offset any imbalance, so that does infer you'd want to bring the balance closer to 0. You'd almost never want your balance to do something except for go lower, though I think there is a technology where perhaps that'd be good due to what resources you'd get.

    • @Feldingor
      @Feldingor 4 года назад

      JonGetsGames if I’m not mistaken it was David himself who said so during his tutorial & playthrough video on Tabletopia. The rulebook actually says to use them to offset an *unbalance*, seemingly hinting to moving it towards balance, not offset if even more

  • @salty-horse
    @salty-horse 4 года назад

    Jon, thanks for the video!
    Please consider reformatting how you mention timestamps in the video description. RUclips can now read them and display the section names and times in the video player, but I think they need to be in a specific format.
    Instead of "Game overview - 0:47"
    try: "0:47 Game overview"

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 года назад +3

      I don't actually think that matters. It seems they haven't consistently rolled out this feature as some videos show that information on the play bar and others don't. For instance I don't see it in this tutorial video but using the same formatting it does show up in the extended playthrough for Tekhenu. I love the new look of that information in the play bar, I just don't know why it's so inconsistent.

  • @Raysax92
    @Raysax92 4 года назад +1

    Thx for the vídeo and i have only 1 Question: If you perform an Anubis action (2 scribes) only the "die value" counts, then does that mean for example that you could use a "brown" die to produce "x" resources of another kind such as papyrus? Since even though the die is brown and would normally produce bread, here the color is theoretically omitted, so I could produce any resource I want at my choice, right?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 года назад +1

      That is correct, you can produce X of any resource type when you do an Anubis action.

    Do you only potentially change the player order once during the game?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 года назад +2

      The player order changes during each Maat phase and that happens every 4 turns. This means the player order changes 4 times, though the 4th time only impacts endgame scoring.

  • @ryanamos3665

    Jon, the obelisk looks really wobbly. How is it attached to the board? How do you store the obelisk in the box? Do you disassemble it each time? Thanks.

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 года назад +1

      It has a hex shaped base to slot into the rotating disc and under that a circular shape to go into a hole in the game board so that it can easily pivot. I didn't think it seemed wobbly to me. It does all come apart to go back in the box but that takes minimal time to put back together.

    I just wish the resources weren’t cardboard chits. I would have preferred wooden cubes a la Tzolkin. Kinda bummed since BnD has really good production quality in some of their games.

    • @J-Wheeler-G
      @J-Wheeler-G 4 года назад

      Well everything else is really good quality, my guess is that in order to have the Obelisk,,wooden pillars and houses and still be able to keep the game at the same price the usually do the only way to do it was cut cost somewhere else and I guess that was the resources.
