Hi, I really appreciate your channel and the variety of games you cover in such a clear and concise format. Your explanation of the rules and flow of the game makes the games seem easy, which is impressive considering how complex some of these games can be.
That's a great video tutorial for the game. I'm getting my copy tomorrow and I feel like I am ready to play. Excellent editing as well, it's very pleasant to watch
Perfect explanation. Just watched it after our first play and this helped us see some mistakes we made (2 VP for tiles in the corners) and happiness that can not overcome population :)
U do some of the best how to plays on the net I have seen. Ontop of this u allways manage to make videos of games alot of other how to plays seem to avoid to some extent. U are now my go to how to player if I se that u have made a video of a game we are going to play. This one just arrived a couple of days ago and will be played this weekend at a cabin rental Friday to Sunday Boardgaming bonanza for 8 people in the gaming group. Rodney Smith, Paul Grogan and Meeple Univercity has some serious competion on there hands now :P Keep up the pure exalent videos u are doing.
Flawless video! Just put game on table and finished your video. Have no questions at all, at least for the first run. Your channel must become popular asap. Congrats man! And the best thing is thst you cover games that are heavy weighted and do not refer to most people.
Thanks so much for this. One big question. My rule book on page 8 states: “ place all players Matt markers on the turn order track in descending order based on their total initiative value (highest total initiative value is placed first on the turn order track and so on). Since they are placed in descending order, and the highest initiative value places first, in your example, wouldn’t the blue have placed their marker first, on turn order 3, then pink on 2, and finally purple on 1? 3, 2, 1 being decending order.
I see what you mean, but this -> (highest total initiative value is placed first on the turn order track and so on). "Placed first" means placed in the first position (1). The important group of words is this: *in descending order based on their total initiative value*. Meaning - the descending order is applied to the initiative value - from highest to lowest initiative value.
Hi. Thanks for the video :) But I have one question. As I understand from your explanation when you build a pillar within the temple complex you get points for your building. In the rules, there is such information: Page 17: 1. Score 1 Victory Point per Building (not Statue), regardless of ownership, in the same row and column. Ok... just watched it three times and you say "if you have any buildings" - which in my opinion suggest that we count only buildings from player building the pillar :) But, this could be the as well "if you have any buildings meaning if there are any buildings in this row/column". If so, then it may be misleading :)
Hi, you're right, it's not the best expression I have used. I don't have any other buildings there (other than blue) so it may look like only "your" buildings count. But it is ALL buildings, regardless of the color. Great catch, thank you!!
Well, personally I'm not a huge fan of these point-salad games. It feels like we all play different games - I do pillars, you do workshops and quarries, then we all have different decrees (goals), and the only common element is the dice pool around the obelisk. So that's why I like Trismegistus more. On the other hand, Tekhenu is a little lighter (but still quite heavy) and easier to understand, and I have a stronger sense of accomplishment than in Trismegistus. So, from this perspective - it's a bonus point for Tekhenu. :) Net-net, I think I like Tekhenu a little more only because Trismegistus is just way too heavy and has way too many options in my opinion. Trismegistus is a heavy and challenging puzzle but too much brain-burning, and I have a little more fun playing Tekhenu than Trismegistus.
Best turtorial I have seen for this game super clear to understand. 👍👍👍
This is absolutely the best-presented, most concise, and accurate rules summary for this game. Thank you so much!
You have some of the best rules videos on RUclips!
Thank you! 😊
It is very true!

6:17 Thank you for showing us where the turn order track is. For some ridiculously odd reason, the rulebook doesn't point this out at all.
This rules video is incredible helpful. Thank you a lot. Like someone here already said: One of the best rules videos on youtube.
Thank you so much. :)
Thank you! I really liked how you explained everything, seems very clear.
Excellent explanation - has helped me a lot before my first game tomorrow night!

Fantastic as always, is there a chance for a solo mode how to play video?
Yes, hopefully this weekend! :)

Great Video. Thx
22:18 there's an ant on the obelisk
Good eyes there! I think he thought he was a scarab beetle.

How do you compare this to Trismegistus?

I hope u plan on doing a how to play video for the upcoming Tawantinsuyu also then :P
