Lombardo just being an absolute savage off the bat , and Hetfeild literally skipping away from the drums with excitement is one of the best things I’ve seen all year
This is like when I was a kid in the early 80's, watching the cartoon "Superfriends". Where All the best classic super heroes were all in the same cartoon. Except, these superfriends would be more appropriate to occupying the Legion Of Doom as opposed to the Hall Of Justice!
Everybody talks about Lemmy - and rightly so, but let’s never forget and also give kudos to the other original boys who gave Motörhead that awesome, never to be repeated original sound - Fast Eddie Clarke, and Phil Taylor. I saw that original lineup when I’d just started university back in 1980 at the Manchester Apollo (in England for you guys over the pond), and they blew me away with such a powerhouse of noise. Couldn’t hear anything for the following two days! These experiences are a product of their time and can’t be replicated by anyone, though I’m sure they’d have big smiles on their faces if they were watching these big bands playing their music and showing them the respect they deserve.
I saw the Lemmy, Eddie and Phill lineup 4 times in 6 months in 1980/81, I won a competition to the second on, it was in Hamburg, I won a backstage pass to see Tank who were supporting them, but we missed Tank. The picture of us in Record Mirror Eddie has me in a Headlock.
i did not get to see the fast eddie phil T line up but i did get to see Pete Gill Wurzl and Phil C in a little pub in '86 PA was wall to wall floor to ceiling it the only time i have experienced sound pressure @@martinlambert616
Yeah, it's funny that they're all, in essence, playing the same song, but it sounds so much better when Dave is playing it. There's a certain power and crispness to his playing that the others - all great - just don't quite match. The man is a god.
Love how all the drummers took turns on the throne, ya know there are people out there that think this is pure noise but to all us rivit heads it's pure joy
Lemmy was louder then al of the boys on stage😁👍... He was the grandfather of hard ass rockn roll... Metal... And also great personality.. Rest in peace lemmy 🕺🙏🧙♂️
I was 18 when I attended the Italian date of The Big 4 in Milan. It was my first concert ever and it blew my mind. I remember the bands on stage playing Die, Die My Darling by the Misfits, my favorite band of all time.
1. Kirk hugging Kerry, Kerry's like yeah Kirk I still think you're overrated. 2. Joey doesn't even barely sing a note, I feel bad for him because he's just so OUT of place lol. 3. Kerry just ignores everyone else and plays by himself. 4. So cool to see Gary and Kirk playing together after all the EXODUS days, such respect. 5. I'm a drummer, and everyone hovers around the kit, it feels pretty good...and lastly everyone plays then Dave gets on the drums and plays way faster, everyones like YEAH!!!. First time i've ever seen this. haha.
Dave L. nails it another perfect time! Guess 98% were waiting for him... He's got that "swing", randomness in his runs, to surprise himself & the audience; drive, creativity, and when he speeds up, he's a (still somehow gentle) destroyer! But Charlie B. also a beast, when i think of S.O.D. ...back in the days... Iwantsommilk! Mycoffeegrowscold!!!
in fact....they could. And they have done it. All Musicians around the same age, origin and nearly on par in terms of skill. They know each other for decades. A 4 Horsemen Tour with the Big 4 would be absolute lit. (and sold out on ticketmaster for 5000 bucks a ticket in SECONDS)
Saw Motorhead quite a few times during the Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades and Iron Fist tours. Don’t know if it’s just me but even having these 20 all playing together on stage they aren’t a patch on the speed and energy that Philthy, Fast Eddie and Lemmy had! Overkill is carried by the extraordinary drive of Philthy’s drums, this just sounds really pedestrian.
hey man, open yer mind. this was a part of metallica live show. for me a cool live jam session, and a dammed good tribute to the old crew from motörhead. they did it with joy and fun....but shurely not a demonstration how perfect theyre able to cover overkill.
Seen three incarnations of Metallica, three of Motörhead, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth and I can tell you that you are being a miserable bugger. When you collect too many musicians together you lose some of the definition and clarity, Motörhead benefitted from the mix not being cluttered up, three musicians all with their own space to fill and no tripping over each other. This was the encore at a Big 4 gig and it was meant to be for fun, until someone comes along and says meh Motörhead did it better……
Just seen this and I still love the Motorhead version but saying that this has to be the insane version and what a way to go to kick off for Lemmy kilminster of motorhead rip Lemmy.😊
Would’ve been cool if they did 4 different songs for 4 different shows where they all came out and jammed together and each song being different instrument oriented. Am I Evil had different singers, Overkill had different drummers, they could’ve had a song that was bass driven where they all could’ve switched off and then a song for the lead guitar players.
What can you say the talant on stage is a one in a life time the knowledge the gift for wrighting songs playing with others and the lessons they learned they are more then happey to help .
The way that could’ve been better is if all the drummers had their kits and all the strings and mic’s were turned up to the same volume. James Mike was definitely louder than anyone else’s and same goes for the guitars
This was the moment we learned that Exodus were there. Love Megadeth, but have seen them multiple times and the sets didn't vary much from tour to tour. I've never seen Exodus...would've enjoyed that.
Was at this show just finish up 23 YEARS IN CORPS USMC it was Wednesday it was hot day. My seat was on right field side my first base gd seat it was $125 for it. Last time i saw them
If only we could have something like this for a Super Bowl Halftime Performance…

He Destroyed Lars !
@@TheLUKE1050 Lars did a very passable philthy impression ,but yeah Lombardo’s always next level, like Mikkey Dee playing old Motörhead

Good analogy! Mikkey kicked ass, such a tight bombastic drummer@@megaduck7965
If a 60 something rocker that lost his voice in the late 90s gets excited on stage and it's the best thing all year. oof
Love how Gary and Kirk are just glued to each other, they're true friends

beautiful moment when they changed guitars
Maybe they are lovers

Love the way Kerry King walks on stage like he’s the don 😂
Well I mean, he is...... lol
Yes pathetic

Kerry King does what he always does; alone in his trip without worrying about the others who are having fun like crazy.
