Thanks I didn't know about some the side manga being possibly canon. The people trapped inside the building was probably an end result to Resistance being a first time testing experiment. If I got this right, Claire got the antivirus for Sherry before Leon got the g-virus sample because in the remake on both runs the self detention system goes off with Claire after Sherry is cured. So if I have the timing right, Leon got to the elevator after Claire and sherry( with Annette, slightly injured but fighting it off or faked her death to motivate Sherry to leave with Claire, stayed behind after hearing the alarm system going off) went down to the train while Ada overrode the elevator right before Leon gets to it. Still slightly injured, Annette catches up and shoots Ada before finally dying. I've played both runs and for some reason, I believe Leon's story truly starts at the locked gate. But I could be wrong. So if anyone wants to debate or chat on it a bit more, I'm all ears or comments.

They fix things a bit in the remakes. For example, none of the rooms in the Police Station are uniquely boarded up in RE3R days BEFORE Leon /Claire arrive. Actually, you blow up the bathroom wall on the 2nd floor in RE3R, and you don't just walk over an unconscious Marvin (you actually run into him and Kendo too). I don't think they show Nemesis killing Brad, but you do fight his zombie near the station like RE2classic after you meet him earlier. Similarly, you actually encounter Lickers in RE3R, which now makes sense rather than being super lucky in RE3classic and not seeing ANY, however Leon/Clare don't encounter any Hunters or Drain Demos or Nemesis infected zombies (actually I think they retconned Nemesis killing Brad since he's a regular zombie), just as Jill doesn't encounter G mutants or plant zombies, and despite Nemesis fighting Birkin in the comics, Carlos visits the station while Jill escapes on the train fighting Nemesis (so I don't think Nemesis visits any RE2 areas this time). Still, I can't really forgive how they butchered the story in RE2R. It's basically non-canon unless you ignore one of the character's stories entirely (I've finally accepted you can make sense of things by picking only one of either Leon A, Leon B, Claire A, Claire B rather than the original canon Claire A/Leon B or alternative Leon A/Claire B, which was only 1000 times better. Oops.) They also cut a bunch of locations (RE2 Factory, RE3 Park/Clock Tower (only in the background of the boss fight)/Dead Factory (now like any other Umbrella facility), enemies (crows, spiders), and extras (Extreme Battle, Mad Jackal aka Mercenaries), not to mention things like the choice system in RE3, the zapping system in RE2, Iron's/Ben's alternate deaths, and certain bosses like Grave Digger. And they also missed the opportunity of showing Crimson heads transform into lickers, or having a few more unique enemies like rats or the enemies from Outbreak, like leechman or zombie zoo animals. Also music is mostly disappointing in 2R namely, while costumes are mostly disappointing in 3R. And all the new main characters look weird.
OmegaPyron and I wouldn’t count out 3R Pre DLC, I would like to Thnk they honor the costume game because it was a better part of the OG just like the ost over 2/2R... if not that would be a 360 slap in the face. I want my remade Dino crisis

Think again! - There will always be a new tyrant/monster to hunt and it will most likely be a weapon for war. - People be changing into monsters a lot. - *SELF DESTRUCT SEQUENCE* 🚨🚨 - Original characters never really die no matter what they go through ( plot armour is REAL thick) - UMBRELLA WORKERS SUCK. - *D O U B L E A G E N T* - characters pulling off impossible feats. - NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA ESCAPE HELICOPTER 🚁 -Don’t investigate anywhere. - Infestations EVERYWHERE. -TYRANT AFTER TYRANT AFTER TYRANT. - There will always be another mission. - Thinking you are safe and then getting surprised. - being forced to kill a loved one. -almost dying but then either injecting self with a virus OR mutating at JUST the right time. - *ROCKET LAUNCHERRR* - Main characters getting infected, scrambling to find cure, finding cure, fighting evil character, being cured. Repeat. All jokes aside, i really love this series and they did a great job on this timeline! Sorry if I missed any big stuff.
I love how the clips go from extremely well animated, close to real-life looking models in heavily detailed environments to block people doing some hand gestures in blurry pngs.

I love Adas and Leons frenemy relationship. Not enemies to lovers but just "enemies" to kinda "allies" depending on the circumstances which I definetely prefer over enemies to lovers.
What I've learned after this video; 1. Everyone loves pumping scary liquid into themselves. 2. For some reason every protagonist waits to kill the bad person until after they shoot up the virus. 3. Wait, Wesker died? 4. Tyrant sounds cool as shit until you learn that there's 400+ of them 5. Wait, go back, I can't remember who these people were, that were for some reason involved 2+ years before this current event.

As someone who's genuinely interested in the crazy BS that goes on in this franchise but can't bother going through all the material of it out there, I very much appreciate this video.
I love how in almost every case, these underground or in the ocean, laboratories that are designed to be absolutely unreachable somehow manage to not get breached but fucking destroyed. Umbrella's tolerance for employee error is astounding.
Perhaps they predicted those employees were gonna any ways. Or mabey the bases were built pretty week on purpose so they can better dispose of evidence and that's y they have a self destruct thing installed or just outright explode. Besides there'd be no point in making the base 100 unbreachable if it's gotta explode in order to get rid of the monsters created within it or virus ect.

I was about 10 years old when RE1 came out on old school PS1. The original RE1, RE2, RE3, and Code Veronica really shaped my future interests. Now, I'm 2 years away from completing my PhD in Immunology and Virology. I love that I work on a pathogenic virus just like I dreamed of as a young RE fan. Looking at the story/franchise now though it makes zero biological sense lol I've loosely kept up with the games like the remakes... most of the others are trash if you ask me. So this was a great way to fill in my missing story line. Thanks!

It’s funny how instead of letting the two go without alerting them of their infection therefore putting his own plan in play, saddler tells Leon and Ashley which pushes them to stay and eventually uncover the whole operation as well as cure themselves which is the complete opposite of what he wanted
I think that happens quite a bit throughout the series - where if someone hadn't been so intent on divulging their plan, and kept their mouth shut, they would've actually got away with it.
I feel like that's every game ever. You go down in a helicopter 2 or 3 times in both cod mw 1 and black ops 1. I think at the start of battlefield 4 and in both far cry 5 and outlast 2. Even in l4d2 or 1 one of the campaigns starts because of a helicopter crash. Goddamn it even deadrising 4 has one. those are the only few I can think of on the fly but like jfc there's so many helicopter crashes in games
I've always looked for the timeline of RE, but it proved to be a bit difficult since I can't really find a trusted one (or haven't seen it yet), but now with this video I feel a little bit complete. Things I've learned so far: A helicopter pilot appears to be the most dangerous job in the resident evil universe. Claire has suffered more concussions than a Boxer. One cannot exist as player, or character, in the resident evil universe, without having trust issues.

Really happy you guys mention outbreak, chronicles, and the revelations series. They tie into the lore really well but are often overlooked for not being numbered games.
Gotta be honest this is the first I've heard of those games. Now it seems like Resident Evil is kinda like the horror version kingdom hearts with it's crazy amount of spinoff games
I thought I'd played a lot of the games; but there are so many I've missed, not to mention the manga, and stage show (which I didn't even know existed)! This was incredibly insightful, filled in a lot of holes, answered a few lingering questions, and blew me away with some of the stories I missed out on (and will probably never play, because of console exclusivity). They also cut a bunch of locations (RE2 Factory, RE3 Park/Clock Tower (only in the background of the boss fight)/Dead Factory (now like any other Umbrella facility), enemies (crows, spiders), and extras (Extreme Battle, Mad Jackal aka Mercenaries), not to mention things like the choice system in RE3, the zapping system in RE2, Iron's/Ben's alternate deaths, and certain bosses like Grave Digger. And they also missed the opportunity of showing Crimson heads transform into lickers, or having a few more unique enemies like rats or the enemies from Outbreak, like leechman or zombie zoo animals. Also music is mostly disappointing in 2R namely, while costumes are mostly disappointing in 3R. And all the new main characters look weird.

I love how in almost every case, these underground or in the ocean, laboratories that are designed to be absolutely unreachable somehow manage to not get breached but fucking destroyed. Umbrella's tolerance for employee error is astounding.
Perhaps they predicted those employees were gonna any ways. Or mabey the bases were built pretty week on purpose so they can better dispose of evidence and that's y they have a self destruct thing installed or just outright explode. Besides there'd be no point in making the base 100 unbreachable if it's gotta explode in order to get rid of the monsters created within it or virus ect.

I was about 10 years old when RE1 came out on old school PS1. The original RE1, RE2, RE3, and Code Veronica really shaped my future interests. Now, I'm 2 years away from completing my PhD in Immunology and Virology. I love that I work on a pathogenic virus just like I dreamed of as a young RE fan. Looking at the story/franchise now though it makes zero biological sense lol I've loosely kept up with the games like the remakes... most of the others are trash if you ask me. So this was a great way to fill in my missing story line. Thanks!

I think that happens quite a bit throughout the series - where if someone hadn't been so intent on divulging their plan, and kept their mouth shut, they would've actually got away with it.

I feel like that's every game ever. You go down in a helicopter 2 or 3 times in both cod mw 1 and black ops 1. I think at the start of battlefield 4 and in both far cry 5 and outlast 2. Even in l4d2 or 1 one of the campaigns starts because of a helicopter crash. Goddamn it even deadrising 4 has one. those are the only few I can think of on the fly but like jfc there's so many helicopter crashes in games

Really happy you guys mention outbreak, chronicles, and the revelations series. They tie into the lore really well but are often overlooked for not being numbered games.
They’re also really solid games. I loved Revelations 2

Gotta be honest this is the first I've heard of those games. Now it seems like Resident Evil is kinda like the horror version kingdom hearts with it's crazy amount of spinoff games
I thought I'd played a lot of the games; but there are so many I've missed, not to mention the manga, and stage show (which I didn't even know existed)! This was incredibly insightful, filled in a lot of holes, answered a few lingering questions, and blew me away with some of the stories I missed out on (and will probably never play, because of console exclusivity).
Thank you so much for all the work you guys put in to this, and job very well done. Liked and Subscribed for this. I hope there will be an update, or continuation/part 2 with the newer games (and maybe films/tv series' added in; or how they compare to the canon story arc)!
