    This helped me so much!! I got phlegm out in the first try! I've been trying to cough it up for days now, and it's just so uncomfortable when it comes up close to my mouth but it's still too far away to cough it out and the natural reaction is to swallow it back in. Thank you so so so much Dr Michelle!!

    I searched this up because I figured this out on my own, but was worried if I had damaged myself. I was having phlegm in my lungs for a week and no matter how deep or hard I coughed it remained. It felt unreachable and it was annoyingly noticeable whenever I laughed. Out of frustration I did this technique on my own over the bathroom sink, I just breathed out as long as I could and to my surprise I felt the phlegm move. Then immediately with some light coughing it started coming out. I also tried curving and twisting my upper body and neck to either side with this technique then lightly coughing, thinking it would help by stretching out the lung. Not sure if it did that, but it worked for me. Now I'm so relieved and pretty much phlegm free. Glad to see this video sharing this technique, it needs millions of views. Why don't they just teach this everywhere??

    • @lylchmploo77
      @lylchmploo77 Год назад +5

      Perhaps doctors would rather prescribe medications than to teach us natural ways to expel mucus. Just my theory! I've been to the doctor many times and they never hesitate to prescribe me meds. But then I found this video and I'm having more relief than I did with antibiotics! It's a miracle.

      @@michellephysio Hello. I work as a paramedic in a small province. Please answer me one question. If the sputum coughs up, but is swallowed, and not spat out, then maybe something bad is from this? Usually, it is easier for many women at work and at home to clear their throat and swallow phlegm, and many do it unconsciously. At school, girls also usually intentionally swallow phlegm and nasal contents with a runny nose, but as far as I understand, is it harmless?

    • @glitchr8r

    You're a lifesaver!!! I have asthma and currently have a nasty chest infection. I've been struggling to breathe for the past few hours. This technique really helped shift some of the mucus into my airway which I was then able to cough up. My breathing is a little better. I will definitely be remembering this one 👍

    I had extremely bad phelgm stuck in my lungs for the past 7 days. I would wake up out my sleep coughing like crazy. My nose would be congested so when I would wake up I would not be able to breath so the normal reaction would be to inhale the phlegm back in. This method is a life-saver!!!!! OMG it came out sooo easily with this method. Best explanation on RUclips. Period. !!!

This illness has been miserable and scary, (going on 3 weeks, 2 rounds of prednisone and antibiotics) has me homebound and without lasting relief with applications of postural drainage, percussion, breathing treatments and...etc. etc. After doing this 2 times I feel my lungs are the clearest they've been in weeks!! This is a godsend, I swear - I have asthma and have been dealing with a case of bronchitis for the last few days. I’ve been gagging and choking more often than I care to admit, and the fear of drowning in my mucous was very, very real. I started doing this yesterday, and I instantly felt relief; finally, I was able to shift phlegm which had been too deep to cough up with force alone. Thank you so, so much for what you do, this video has probably literally saved lives. Love from America ❤

    This is much easier said than done especially when you’re asthmatic coughing and having trouble breathing.
    It does help me to always bring something to drink that is cold and a rescue inhaler and especially a phone in case of emergency or needing help.
    Doing deep breathing and holding it in 3-5 seconds at a time,🎉 several times a day also helps open up the lung.
    This is great advice especially in medical times as we’re all currently experiencing.
