'53 Streeter with duals......WOW! I have a '45 and '49, '49 has dual exhaust pipes. Love the old D's, but the R was a gift from above.

I always wanted a D so i bought a 1946 and restored it. It was fun to restore, but driving it , the tractor was a club, so i got rid of it and never missed it

I was 8 years old in 1973, and spent 8 to 10 hours per day pulling an old 3-16” trip plow with I believe a 1949 “D.” This D was converted to propane and would run all day on a tank of fuel. It scared my Mom to death every time I came back to the house to fill it. She didn’t think an 8 year old should be messing with propane, but my Dad would tell her, “just leave him alone and let him get the plowing done, I trust him as much as a grown man.” Long story short, I was 10 or 12 miles southeast of town doing some swathing for a fellow in 1990 and found that D sitting in some 10’ tall sunflowers across the fence. (My Dad had sold it in 1980 for $750) I found the owner of it and bought it back for $250. It’s my hope to restore it and get it painted one day and drive it in parades and such.
