That happened to me. Ordered the rp-1200.1d and got the rp2000.1d instead. Love it when they fuck up in your favor. Haha

Always face subs towards the rear for best results. I see a lot of kids forward facing subs nowadays and while it might make sense in your head, thats not how low frequencies operate.

i have a 2011 extended cab ranger, only good way to face it with the windows up without the lack or air space in the cab choking it out is straight down :/ depends on the car sometimes
Nice setup man! Pretty awesome birthday present! I'm running 1 sdr12 d2 / ported enclosure 1.5cu with a 1200.1 kicker. I love it. I also been running my amp on the box for 3 years now and have had no issues.
Gotta break them in right. Take a couple days before you start beating on them. I always gave my speakers and told customers when I was installing for Bestbuy and circuit city to give speakers about a good 40+ hours of light to medium use before trying to crank them up. Tight voice coils and spiders/surrounds need time to loosen up otherwise you blow the voice coil.

Yeah Skar always looks out for great customers they sent me 2 SDR 12 inch replacement subs twice. Now I have 4 12s that I got for free because my original 2 subs were under warranty
For the people who say its fake and i bought the whole package.. i have the receipt on my phone lmao and i didnt have enough money for the amp and wiring kit so i was ganna get then like a month later i only had $180 for the sub in the box and thats what I ordered and i got the $400 package for $180 And tbh i dont care if you think its fake lmao think what you want lol

You should turn the frequency down a bit, skar subs pack a huge punch at low frequencies and can handle more than they’re rated for a long time

I have this same exact bundle..& the sdr did start making a popping/rattle sound so I bought a evl-12 to replace it and it sounds much better. but I noticed what happened was the sdr cone had started to separate from the spider and that was causing the sound

If i explain it on here i will just confuse you because i cant explain things good 😂 but theres alot of videos on how to set a amp and sub up
Speaker wire is from amp and goes in sub. Ground goes on (bare metal meaning no paint) and once u bolt it to ur trunk run it to ur amp
Power wire goes to the battery into the amp which I’m pretty sure goes on the fuse as well so you need one long one for ur amp to your battery then one short one for the fuse. Then remote start goes on ur amp and ur battery

blew mine 15 mins after the install because i forgot to turn the bass boost x5 off before because the door speakers could take it just fine but apparently not the sub lmao 3005 went crazy for 3 mins tho lmao blew at the last bass drop lmao freakin just yesterday lmao
I have a question, my sub broke like 2 weeks ago and I got a replacement speaker and when I pulled the old speaker out, I broke the ends of the wires that are connected to the box for power. How would I be able to fix that?
Cut the wires plastic down a little so some of the wire is showing again and plug it back in maybe
Pull the wires connected to the box terminals off and the sub terminals off and rebook it up it’s not that hard just get some new wires and rap the exposed wire around the right terminals

Mine blew too but i got a Power acoustic Sub from Walmart and been running it in the skar box and amp and its been really good so far

Well mine is running on a 800 watt amp but i think if you have the gain up on your amp it might power the sub a little but the subwoofer is rated for 1200 Watts and your amp is only 400 so maybe but i would get a skar rp 800 watt amp from SkarAudio.com And the amp i got is really good for the price

Yeah I read the specs that's why I was wondering if I were to use the amp I have if it could power it to get some bass out of it or if it would just sound like crap without the proper power
Well i have a subwoofer rated for 1000 watts on a 300 watt amp and it sounds good so it might sound good but not as good as it could be with more watts
Yes the kicker amp will work just fine. Nothing wrong with under powering the sub as long as you don't send clipping signal to it! So don't try to push that 400 watt amp to do 600 watts because it obviously can't and if you do you'll mess up both the amp and the sub. Just tune the amp right and you should be good
But you obviously won't hear it at it's full potential, im sure you'll be content with it

I blew the subwoofer because i over did it alot but the amp i still use for my new subwoofer i have a video about that one too its cheaper than the skar and better in my opinion

I dont have a aftermarket head unit and it works fine so probably not
So im thinking about buying this. With the full wiring kit and everything. What else I need to buy for me to be set? Just a radio? If so what radio you recommended
Just research top brand head units and look into doing the big 3 upgrade cause this sub draws a decent amount of power unless you have a truck or suv. The big 3 helps a little with power draw, you might need tools to pull up the carpet in your car to run the wire but you should be good with just the whole kit

Turn your gain down it's not s volume nob. That rp800 can do 900+ watts! The sub is only rated at 600 so get it professionally tuned if you want it to last my guy. I've had mine for 2 years and it's still bumping

@@jonnylochen9924 of course bro, I'd recommend 80-90hz for the low pass filter (LPF) and 25-30hz for the subsonic or (hpf)! Also the gain isn't a volume knob! If you have higher voltage you won't need to turn it up as much all cars are different as well as the rca output from head units or (stereos)!

They didnt make the mistake he did. I been ordering from skar for more the 5yrs and they never make a mistake now if you was to get it from amazon yes I would have believed you. I got alot of extra things from Amazon ordering from skar.
Skar accidentally sent me 2 sdr single 12s when I only bought one. They make mistakes

They do though, order two EVL 12s and they ended up sending me two extras lol.. I paid $400 for the two but got $400 for free

I love it im ganna buy more skar audio subs the amp does more than it says its really good and i over powered the sub so its not its fault it blew but it still works good just weird noises and the only reason i blew it is because i got the amp for free so im kinda not wasting any money by blowing the sub lol😂
