If Itachi had awakened the EMS by taking Sasuke's eyes then I actually think he could have awakened the Rinnegan (even not being Indra's reincarnation), as if he implanted something like Hashirama Cells then Ashura's Chakra would be able to react with Sasuke's eyes, as they still would have both Sasuke's and Indra's Chakra in them. It might take a near death experience for that to happen though, as both Sasuke and Madara had to be on the verge of death to awaken the Rinnegan. Also I think it's entirely reasonable to think that healthy Itachi *could* have become a Sage considering that he knew what Ryuchi Cave was, so assuming that he would be able to withstand the training then he could have just gone to Ryuchi Cave himself and learned how to control Nature Energy from the White Snake Sage without needing someone like Orochimaru to train him. The fact that he researched Ryuchi Cave at all might suggest that, in canon, Itachi actually once might have wanted to become a Sage, but ultimately didn't because his body began to fail him and he became too sick.

Itachi's biggest strength, which is never talked about, isn't what we have seen. Itachi's biggest strength is the unknowing, the mystery of what Itachi will do next and how he will solve the problem at hand, that is what makes him considerably fearsome. It seems that Itachi always knows how to take down his opponent, even if it means pulling out tricks we never would have imagined.
I always thought that a big part of what made Itatchi sick was his overuse of the Mangekyou, mixed with the trauma of killing his parents, lover, comrades. Destroying his beloved brother’s life and then having to work for the people that he hated

@cfakatsuki17 Everyone gains 2 MS abilities as long as they have 2 eyes, obito awakens 2 forms of kamui ( 1 in his eye and other in kakashi's), itachi awakens tsukuyomi and amaterasu (itachi had 2 abilities and never gained the EMS), sasuke awakens amaterasu and kurotsuchi. Gaining the EMS just makes you stronger and unlocks stronger forms of the susanoo

The super dumbed down argument would be as follows; Sick MS Itachi ~ Minato ~ Tobirama ~> Izuna ~ MS Madara Then presume EMS amp is roughly on par between characters, Not being sick amps Itachi further, and lastly Totsuka Blade and Yata Mirror make up any power differential.
I want to see a compressed Susano’o. Now you have all that chakra compressed, making it an even greater defense, and since the chakra is closer it’s easier to control making it faster as well. It’d be like Naruto’s KCM
Often these discussions are determining strength via straight power. Itachi's "strength" was never that he could straight up Stat-check anyone he fought, but that he is extremely strong, AND his battle IQ\coordination was next level. Definitely a harder thing to measure, but I figure the only shinobi that could outwit Itachi would be Shikamaru, who gets stat checked handily. Does that make him the "strongest"... Nope. But it does mean he will win fights in which he is outgunned, which imo is more important.
With the Uchiha powers being unlocked from strong emotions, often uncontrollable emotions could they undergo sage training? Or would it nerf their clan power gaining that much control over themselves? The only way we've seen an Uchiha gain sage/nature energy so far is from unnatural means.

I've been writing. Itachi is one of the strongest and smartest in the show. He literally had the mind of a hokage at like 8 if he was privy of awakening the rinnegan or if he did. He never would stoop that low. He is the truest leaf Shinobi ever born.
Shisui Uchiha, Shino Aburame, Zabuza Memochi, Haku Yuki, Rock Lee, Asuma Sarutobi, Kurenai Yuhi, Kimimaro Kaguya, Kurostuchi of Iwa(Onoki granddaughter and should have learned Kekkei Tota), and Sai. Those Shinobi I listed are some mention and some similar to Itachi like Kimimaro Kaguya in terms of disease. Not to mention Lineages or connections/Ranks this earned to whom they battled and encountered. Some characters did die, but i felt like Jonin Ranks in the Anime/Manga should mean insane potential these Shinobi achieved or at Jonin Level because of their skills alone.

I would argue that since Itachi's yatamirror (I know I misspelled it, sue me) has all 5 chakra nature's, it would be possible and easier for him to learn to use all 5 chakra nature's far easier than normal people (kinda like the Rinnegan does for people as well).

I think he says something like “you had it this whole time?!” or something which, to me, implies that itachi found it and added it to his susano somehow. You need to standing near a fully formed Susanoo to see through it. We never see the background behind a fully formed Susanoo unless the manga panels are up close.

@cfakatsuki17 Everyone gains 2 MS abilities as long as they have 2 eyes, obito awakens 2 forms of kamui ( 1 in his eye and other in kakashi's), itachi awakens tsukuyomi and amaterasu (itachi had 2 abilities and never gained the EMS), sasuke awakens amaterasu and kurotsuchi.
Gaining the EMS just makes you stronger and unlocks stronger forms of the susanoo

Healthy EMS Itachi would scale roughly to EMS Madara. The super dumbed down argument would be as follows;
Sick MS Itachi ~ Minato ~ Tobirama ~> Izuna ~ MS Madara
Then presume EMS amp is roughly on par between characters, Not being sick amps Itachi further, and lastly Totsuka Blade and Yata Mirror make up any power differential.
I want to see a compressed Susano’o. Now you have all that chakra compressed, making it an even greater defense, and since the chakra is closer it’s easier to control making it faster as well. It’d be like Naruto’s KCM
Another note is that Itachi never used more force or chakra than necessary, He never actually went 100% all out..

Often these discussions are determining strength via straight power. Itachi's "strength" was never that he could straight up Stat-check anyone he fought, but that he is extremely strong, AND his battle IQ\coordination was next level. Definitely a harder thing to measure, but I figure the only shinobi that could outwit Itachi would be Shikamaru, who gets stat checked handily. Does that make him the "strongest"... Nope. But it does mean he will win fights in which he is outgunned, which imo is more important.
With the Uchiha powers being unlocked from strong emotions, often uncontrollable emotions could they undergo sage training? Or would it nerf their clan power gaining that much control over themselves? The only way we've seen an Uchiha gain sage/nature energy so far is from unnatural means.

You know my head cannon has always been that itachi had a well thought pair of ms abilities suppose to be used as a combo to one shot foes. Eg immobilise them with tsykoumi then burn them with amaterasu.

I've been writing. Itachi is one of the strongest and smartest in the show. He literally had the mind of a hokage at like 8 if he was privy of awakening the rinnegan or if he did. He never would stoop that low. He is the truest leaf Shinobi ever born.
Shisui Uchiha, Shino Aburame, Zabuza Memochi, Haku Yuki, Rock Lee, Asuma Sarutobi, Kurenai Yuhi, Kimimaro Kaguya, Kurostuchi of Iwa(Onoki granddaughter and should have learned Kekkei Tota), and Sai.
Those Shinobi I listed are some mention and some similar to Itachi like Kimimaro Kaguya in terms of disease. Not to mention Lineages or connections/Ranks this earned to whom they battled and encountered. Some characters did die, but i felt like Jonin Ranks in the Anime/Manga should mean insane potential these Shinobi achieved or at Jonin Level because of their skills alone.

I would argue that since Itachi's yatamirror (I know I misspelled it, sue me) has all 5 chakra nature's, it would be possible and easier for him to learn to use all 5 chakra nature's far easier than normal people (kinda like the Rinnegan does for people as well).

So here’s a question that’s been on my mind: when itachi stabs orochimaru with the blade of totsuka, orichimaru is surprised that itachi has it. I think he says something like “you had it this whole time?!” or something which, to me, implies that itachi found it and added it to his susano somehow. This also probably applies to the yata mirror. So if this is the case, why didn’t itachi hand them down to sasuke upon his death?

I just want to point out that, despite them saying all that about the Yata Mirror, it is NEVER SHOWN. It doesn’t reflect anything in the entire series. Hell, we see it NOT reflect Kirin, and Itachi’s Susano’o just gets completely blown away. Plus it’s directional, and you generally don’t want to approach a Perfect Susano’o head on anyway

I like the idea that the disease is tied to Tsukiomi. I just finished Midnight and it’s fantastic. Tragic but fantastic. I liked Itachi a lot before reading his light novels but he may have overtaken Kakashi as my favorite character now.

I feel like the biggest reason Itachi decided to do the Uchiha massacre is because it was promised to him by Danzo that Sasuke would be kept safe. Sure, he was mad at Danzo for going against Shisui and pretty much killing him, he bet on the only defiant deal he had which was with Danzo. Ironically to compare him to Naruto LIKE ALWAYS Sauske and Naruto, with different upbringings, defiantly have very similar stories, which I also feel like Kishimoto did on purpose.

Itachi wasn't essential for the plot. More importantly, he was already dead. Kakashi was one of four central characters.

Given that he’s inside of his Susanoo, how could anyone see his eyes and get caught in Tsukuyomi from that far away. Susanoo are neither short nor fully transparent. You need to standing near a fully formed Susanoo to see through it. We never see the background behind a fully formed Susanoo unless the manga panels are up close.

I'd see it like itachi replacing guy when sasuke and naruto are talking to hagoromo... itachi and madara are going toe to toe for a little bit, madara playing around a little bit allows itachi to land a tsukuyomi similar to how he stood there and just tried to block the night guy kick... and madara survives a 60+ year tsukuyomi but ends up in a similar state to how he was with night guy where he congratulates itachi before promptly speed blitzing the tired out itachi and kills him (naruto saving guy is stupid af and shouldn't have happened)
