Yamatos "Home building Jutsu" is possibly one of the best jutsus in the verse! First off, it might be the ultimate utility Jutsu. Instant ninja hideout, cover from the elements, and defensive cover. And more importantly he'd be the richest ninja alive seeing as he can construct whole villages given a month or two.

Something I do wish was explored more was the "real" justus. Things that everyday ninjas would need and use..sure the big explosions are cool but land of waves is amazing because it's high value with smaller effects.
People also forgot that Temari, even in just the Chunin exams, was OP and one of the strongest participants there. Ten-Ten got drawn the short end of the stick there. That was one of the worst opponents she could've gotten. The utility of the Wood pillar house jutsu is pretty great in utility, it's just not combat useful.

In the chunin exams, she managed to not just react but to block and deflect Lee's serious kick with her fan. In the war arc Temari sliced up the 3rd Rikage with her Wind Style Cast Net. In the entire Shinobi Allied Forces, she was arguably the strongest wind user, which speaks volumes since the only person that could show her up was Naruto was an OP S-ranked Wind Rasenshiruken.
My headcanon is that she wasn't a genin. She was a chunin already, maybe even a jonin, and so were Gaara and Kankuro, but the sand village faked their paperwork to enter them as genin since they had they were planning an invasion. It was a big ploy to get their 5 strongest fighters (3 + Baki and Kazekage) into the heart of Konoha. I mean if you think about it why would other villages have detailed records on all the ninjas of other villages? Why would the other villages ever let them have that info? So why take it for granted that they were actually the rank they were claimed to be?

Tenten is unironically one of the only shippuden characters that could have gotten a massive buff in boruto Via abusing the new scientific ninja tools. Imagine her twin rising dragon but spamming sealed premade jutsus. Too bad she was irrelevant in og Naruto, got somehow more irrelevant in shippuden and basically doesn’t exist in Boruto.
now that i think about it...what about guns? im almost positive they exist in it and they would be incredibly useful in my mind. imagine bringing out 100 guns instead of kunai, with shippuden she wouldnt need to use her hands to fire them either.

In my head canon, Hiruzen was just chilling in the Hokage office, thinking about the Mokuton, the Kage Bunshin, Rasengan, and all other techniques the other 3 Kage had created, thought "Well, I need to create something", looked over to a random roof and went *hmmmm*
I don't know we have seen chakra infused every day objects like killer bees pencil or konans paper do a fair amount of damage so I cannot see why a roof tile couldn't work
That kind of jutsu just confuses me. There's a filler with flower petal jutsu but, can't they just say "projectile jutsu"? There's a specific one using an aura of chakra to levitate kunai or projectiles. Isn't this sort of the same? Can't you do that to anything around you? Kitchen ware no jutsu. Fake psychic flex.

Maybe the only reason we see the roof tile shuriken is because at that time Hiruzen had no weapons. (Instead of just already knowing the Tile jutsu) he created the jutsu on the spot, possibly showing his understanding and ability with chakra. Something a Professor would do. (For me at least it makes the jutsu more interesting even if it’s considered weak)
Roof tile shuriken could be good jutsu if it doesn't use a lot of chakra as you could send hundreds of steel hard rooftilesat once. IF you are prepared you could also have explosive tags hidden on them or even bigger explosives. Like Deidara would make this jutsu deadly.
The house summoning Jutsu seems really useful if you were some kind of stealth based, clandestine mercenary or assassin, who'd want to be able to quickly set up shelters in out of the way locations while traveling, to stake out locations, to hide someone you're trying to protect, or even as a jail to temporarily hold someone you're taking in alive. Sadly, it is in Naruto, a series that has nothing to do with stealth based, clandestine mercenaries or assassins. And during a wizard duel, house summoning isn't that useful.
I gotta say, I think some of these Jutsu had potential to be much more useful but were just never shown in that way. Yamato’s wood houses could be designed as a maze to effectively trap enemies inside or at least stall for an escape. On that same coin, it can act as a sealing jutsu similar to Gaara’s sand mausoleum when the right seals are applied
roof tile could have tiles attached with explosive tags or bigger explosives and make them into frag grenades as in ancient times grenades were made with ceramics (and those would have steal hardness)
The 4 pillar house technique seems like it could be pretty useful. just not in battle but instead in the event where you would need a place to stay. You could save a lot of money on housing.
Or it could be used in survival situation, on the island, in the desert, in Antarctica etc., or help with homeless problem by giving them some good house

Tenten's twin rising dragon would be a lot more OP if she learnt Minato's flying thunder god technique. Imagine if she could launch weapons with explosives and the seal over the battlefield and then teleport around. The worst part is that Tenten acrually excelled at space-time ninjutsu.
If you use flying thunder god with just about anything would make it like 1000% cooler and more useful. Also twin rising dragon just sounds better the "random bullshit GO"
Kishimoto completely screwed Ten-Ten and wasted such a good character. Even Ten-Ten from day 1 was more useful than Sakura and it stayed that way until Sakura got special treatment just because Sakura is part of Team 7. Team Guy would've wiped the floor with Team Kakashi and every other team even after the time skip with Sai as Sasuke's replacement. Ten-Ten was never behind or lacking in Team Guy's training which is pretty crazy. Had Kishimoto actually done something with Ten-Ten she would've been a complete monster. Body flicker, Flying Rajin, whatever. Heck, she could've even been like the Animal Path of Pain. (Which is funny considering she met the live Animal path before she became the Animal Path. (Which had abilities just like hers).
She did get a bad match up that's true. But I don't think she got AS screwed over as you think, yes she would have clapped Sakura but Sakura had talent in chakra control which ten ten didn't ten was a one trick pony so yes she mastered that one trick early on but she lacked potential. Others had more potential then she did and once they put time and training onto becoming better they really got a lot better then they was. Sakura was also kinda screwed she never really learned anything from team 7 so yeah she had to look elsewhere and she didn't come from a ninja family who would have been able to train her. Even without strength Sakura could most likely bet ten ten in a battle of just fist no chakra no anything just technic which is sad when you think that ten ten had probably the best trainer in hand to hand in the whole village maybe the world. She could have trained in that or would have been able to open at least a few gates (so yeah that means she did get screwed over, especially when she was written to not really care about that kind of training) she focused on weapons which yeah she should have been learning how to do some cool sword shit like maybe going to the land of iron for training or she could have trained more in sailing style so yeah she did get screwed but she also focused on throwing weapons which the most basic thing all ninja learn and there for learn to counter which is why kunia and other ninja tools are not very effective in the whole show not just when ten ten used them. Truth be told post time skip Sakura learned and grew way more then anybody on team 7 not just as a ninja but as medical ninja which takes crazy amounts of studying was even able to counter sasuris poison something he's grandma who was a talented and experienced poison user wasnt able to do and thats 3 years of experience vs. 30+ years (made worse by the fact that she was in war times which ninja notable grow a lot during, all the strongest ninjas ever has been though war) point of the mater she was screwed but giving her lack of chakra skills she didn't have options and the options she had she didn't take the flying thunder god not only uses chakra control but way more chakra then she probably even has. I think one of the biggest ways she was screwed over is the fact she's not a teacher in Boruto she has skills that could be passed down but she's just sitting in shop thats failing but TBH that's a big thing in all of Naruto is the fact that not a lot of people are being trained like they could be or training people like they should which is dumb cause it's not like being a ninja couldn't get you killed or anything
Yes the house juicy was very useful. Gibbs people place to rest not only that but as you said the roof tiles can be used he literally makes the ceramic roof tiles out of Earth release and then the windows out of Earth release
I think the house jutsu is actually very useful. Just imagine using that jutsu to build an entire mansion for yourself in seconds, or you could help homeless people by making them an entire village in seconds.
Four pillar house is super useful. He makes a house in a few moments. Its not a battle technique, but he makes a house. A house. I'm still paying on mine.
For Zaku's ability, it's not that it comes from his elbows. When you have pressure in a tube it will explode out of the spot with least resistance. For an arm, that would be the joint, since the tube inside will have to be able to bend with his arm. But the tube goes all the way up his arm (likely puling chakra from his core). As for the worst jutsu, you forgot "Story Style: Plot Armor" which allows any user to succeed or fail when they otherwise shouldn't have. That technique serves no real purpose.
Yeah still not sure how the bugs form an AIR TIGHT seal in his arms. Which is what they would have had to do. And how they survived the pressure at all without being crushed, broken, etc and projected out of the tubes.
@@TheLastSane1 Well we never saw the bugs exit his hands, so it's likely that Shino sent those brave soldiers off to die as they packed themselves in tight enough to form a mass of bug guts held in place with only friction as the pressure beat down on it. But they're also chakra-eating bugs, so I assume there could have been a thin layer constantly getting eaten before it hits them. Maybe them eating the chakra at the opening takes out the punch of the waves at that spot, so it backs up and explodes before being able to punch through both the layer of dead wave & bugs.

Seems very lazy to me honestly its kinda disappointing. Like he couldve just cut the parts where he passes to swag or mention him. Would not have taken much more effort than recording the parts swag was supposed to fill already did.
As a deadly technique i guess the roof tile shiruken is so low it shouldn't be on a tier lol i wouldn't say it's useless. I would say it's one of the only useful shiruken techniques used in the show. Considering the scale the top tiers are at i can see this technique being more useful for setting up for an opening than Tenten getting a kill with her technique 😅.
i mean theoretically if you are in konoha with tailbeast size charka reserve you can maybe throw the entire village roof top at someone i mean that would be a pretty decent distraction seeing a entire village worth of roof tile coming at you might distract you form the attack coming next
I would say that given the speed and kinetic energy of the tiles, they should hit way harder than shuriken meaning that they are probably a lot more deadly than they look. They should be like 20-30 pounds per tile going at like 90 mph. It's funny because projectiles in Naruto would be the same as energy blasts in dragon ball. The almost never do significant damage to characters that matter.

I think the issue is just that Twin Rising Dragons is actually a really cool and strong jutsu.....in OG Naruto. I think the only one natures that wouldve been a legit counter to it is Earth and strong enough wind release. The issue is that as the show went on, certain natures got stronger and the power scaling went through the roof, something like Twin Rising Dragons can't keep up when people are shooting mountain blasting bombs, and CUTTING THE MOON IN HALF
One point to make about Tenten and her weapon scrolls is that Sasuke put summoning seals on himself to get kunai and shuriken. Maybe Sasuke just had the chakra reserves that such a thing was realistic for him, when an average ninja couldn't afford to do so, but it does show that her main move does have some merit as a support jutsu. Tentens problem is that she's doing absolutely nothing else with the technique. That sort of weapon spam is going to be best used to create an opening of some form, but Tenten can only rely on Lee, Neji, or Gai to utilize those openings.
Considering the fact a couple bugs could stop Zaku's air waves realistically if you put a wad of paper in there it's probably stopping it. Just hold their hand or block it with literally anything heavier than 5 tiny bugs and his arms are gone
@@casualcookin3893 Depending on the exact size of the bugs? Could be thousands. Not saying it is, but it's not like we have the dimensions of the insects. There are arachnids on your face right now that are invisible to the naked eye, and you have *millions* of them.
Nice video as usual but one thing being overlooked here is the 'potential' for each jutsu. It's worth noting that most of these jutsu were performed by ninjas still in their early stages of development. Imagine we didn't have the rasengan as we know it and the only time it was shown in the show is when kid Konomaharu tried to attack big bro Naruto who simply slapped it away. I am sure it would have made this list. However, because we have seen how effective it can be when it is used by extremely powerful Ninja, we have more appreciation for it.
Well at least the log can potentially damage someone. The water shuriken seemingly have so little water in that that they can either evaporate easily or turn into a just a splash of water smaller than pocket sand.

Bro, Yamato's 4 Pillar House Jutsu is basically the D&D Spell Leomund's Tiny Hut. And everyone who has played D&D and has seen that spell in action knows the value of having a safe place to rest sometimes. Sure, no practical combat use, but the utility aspect is clean.
idk i think the house jutsu is very useful since these shinobi dont just fight they also have long ass missions so being able to stay in a safe and protected place for free that also wont leave any remains (so they wont be tracked) seems pretty useful i mean in a long group mission im sure yamato would be everyones favorite person for it
Roof Tile Shuriken is one of my favorites cuz it made you think the possibilities of jutsu were endless. Also it allowed for more techniques than just spamming Shadow Clones and Rasengans all battle
The third and fourth's Riakage's lighting release armor were both shown to block thrown weapons and Kakashi was shown to use both lightning release clones and attacks to intercept long range attacks so......yeah, all five nature releases have been shown to easily block thrown weapons in the Naruto verse. It's why I don't think there is a single instance of someone above the rank of genin getting killed by them.
He didn’t consider the game version of ten tens weapon rain which would effectively cover a battle field with so many falling weapons that even Temari or Neji wouldn’t survive it. But games over do it.
I mean, can't really count Frill Neck Lizard as a jutsu because it's literally not even a jutsu at all. It's basically just Tobi clowning on his opponents.
Okay but I have a theory about Tobi’s frilled neck lizard jutsu. Things we know: Kakashi is familiar with incomplete sage mode like Jiraiya We know that at one point there used to be powerful dragons that look like what we would consider dinosaurs, specifically like velociraptors. Kakashi is well versed so he may know about these old and powerful dragons Kakashi was at least somewhat afraid of a dragon sage mode jutsu of sorts and it made him hesitant. Was it still a bluff? Yes. Is it a useless jutsu? Also yes. But I’d like to think it was more than just a “kakashi didn’t know what this jutsu was so he was cautious”
I think a part of the jutsu that was overlooked is he slid under the branch so his cloak was around his hhead. Hence the "frilled" in "frilled lizard".
To be fair, I always saw Roof Tile Shuriken as a way underrated jutsu, not because it's powerful, but because what you're throwing is so absolutely unremarkable. We know that high-level sealing experts can attach seals instantaneously. How? We don't know, but I'm assuming they imprint the chakra seal onto the object with handseals. So you just slap whatever seal you want onto those tiles and NO ninja is going to pay attention to roof tiles being thrown at you, especially if you move on to another jutsu immediately like Hiruzen did. Explosive tags, storage seals, barrier seals, paralysis seals. Any number of things could be on those tiles! Besides that, I always saw the "Roof Tile" part of it as just Hiruzen being cute/cheeky. Realistically that's "Earthen Shuriken" jutsu, because the roof tiles are ceramics, so basically just quickfired earth.
I would say Cocoon is not that bad. That was vs the adamantine chain of the gheddo statue which is the husk of the ten tails. So its kind of specially made to rip tailed beasts out of people and it still slowed it down. Its something. Vs say any other form of chakra absorption it probably works better.
Head Canon. There isn't infinite Kuni in the bag. It's a summon scroll for Kuni. Everybody can do what ten ten does. It's just more common to leave the scroll in that pouch because they don't use them as much as her.
I mean, maybe. She has the proclivity for Space-Time Ninjutsu... but her Chakra capacity is so low that she'd probably only get one shot at it, at best.
Ya can't downplay fuu tho lol. She did have a good amount of abilities from the 7 tails. Plus she didn't really have total control of 7 tails when we saw her so she could've gained more abilities if she had lived.
Roof tile jutsu is just exactly the same as throwing shuriken. Just throwing up hand signs first. Either a bluff of a different technique, and a call back to what you said already, to throw and ignore for the rest of the fight.
I'd love a fundamentals of elemental ninjutsu episode! A lot of the elements have common throughlines for how the jutsu all work that seem to form a basis for the release as a whole. Like with water style where its always either expelling water at high speed or high volume, or shaping water and controlling it, costing more chakra if you arent using water in your environment Or like lightning, where all jutsu seem to be either flowing lightning through you, cloaking yourself or other things in lightning, or expelling/controlling lightning. Stuff like that!
Ooh, here's a good one; Secret Technique: Crescent Moon Slash. This was the moved used by the Proctor of the 3rd exam preliminaries against the Jonin leader of the Sand Siblings, when he discovered the Sand Village's plot with the sound village. It was super cool looking, using the visuals of the slowed-down afterimages of a sword to make a full moon shape before jumping and making the slash...but it did literally nothing. Baki caught it with his shoulder; it didn't even cut his flak jacket, and then Baki used wind release to rip the guy to shreds. RIP Hayate Gekko, we hardly knew ye. Too bad your Kenjutsu game wasn't as sick as your lungs.
10-10 has the problem she is basically a support type. Throwing weapons do not do much by themselves, but they force the enemy to react. Showering weapons on the enemy will not do much against a powerful enemy, but it will create an opening for her teammates to attack.
I disagree about the last spot. It maybe isn't quite Rinnegan level, but slowly rolling log is definitely at the very least EMS level. I'd take it anytime over just kamui or amaterasu.

Cocoon probably has multiple defensive uses, we just only saw it's ability to stop chakra absorption. It probably is a strong defensive shield, and could be especially useful with medical Ninjutsu, since you can protect people while they are healing their fellow shinobi.
I would say that log summoning is better then water shuriken as you could summon it above somebody and crush them with like a half a ton log. Also home creating jutsu is also good jutsu as if you had to survive in some wild place it can easily create shelter. IT could be used as some very bad barrier for things like water jutsu as it would create all around barrier. It also has great use to simply make homes. Decapitating airways might be dangerous to user but it still is sort of deadly invisible sound speed attack and if he was using it not in close combat it is good technique that could get someone by surprise. Tiles shuriken could be good as it works similar to ten ten jutsu that it can let you throw a lot of stuff at once at the enemy. However we dont know how taxing it is but if it is rly cheap I think it is perfectly good, especially if you would hide explosive tags before hand on those tiles. Tenten jutsu is rly bad as it is: 1- pricy 2- needs to prepare scroll and weapon 3- takes long time to activate 4- requires a lot of skill AS for cocoon we don't know if it has some other uses, as it can slow down draininng of chakra I believe it can hide user from detection somewhat, can be used as shelter, but it could have like healing capabilities, or when becoming better at it let you recover chara quiker ( it could be able to absorb nature chakra from outside and create chakra sauna inside)
One thing I can imagine is Yamato finding the home-making jutsus in one of the scrolls Hashirama left and him and just reading through a weird diary/sketchscroll and finding all of Hashirama's notes on the houses he wanted to make in his new village, which is why they have so much detail. And this being the scrolls Danzo gave him without checking cuz he thought they were irrelevant. And a few years later all Konoha Shinobi fight to have him cuz they have a roof while on missions. Just a thought that came up.
I'd actually argue that the Four Pillar House Technique is one of the more useful jutsus in Naruto. Not for combat mind you, but just for life in general. Even if you can only spawn six of them in a day, that's six entire houses that you can just spawn every single day, and that is, quite literally, free real estate. Yamato should be one of the richest people in Konoha.
What makes it even worse is that some of these jutsu could be used in arguably better ways such as: instead of wasting chakra making a house for camping, use that chakra to trap your opponent in a room filled with like spikes or something, wall to wall floor and roof, skewering them like a pin cushion since he doesn't have to only use wood in these houses, he could potentially use metals for this house like titanium too make it incredibly difficult to escape, or instead of using 2 dragons to launch yourself and 2 scrolls into the air, use them to idk ATTACK!

Maybe the only reason we see the roof tile shuriken is because at that time Hiruzen had no weapons. (Instead of just already knowing the Tile jutsu) he created the jutsu on the spot, possibly showing his understanding and ability with chakra. Something a Professor would do.
(For me at least it makes the jutsu more interesting even if it’s considered weak)
Tiles are heavier too. It’s arguably worse to be hit by a tile than a shuriken at the same speed, it’s like being punched reaaaally hard by rock

Roof tile shuriken could be good jutsu if it doesn't use a lot of chakra as you could send hundreds of steel hard rooftilesat once.
IF you are prepared you could also have explosive tags hidden on them or even bigger explosives.
Like Deidara would make this jutsu deadly.
The house summoning Jutsu seems really useful if you were some kind of stealth based, clandestine mercenary or assassin, who'd want to be able to quickly set up shelters in out of the way locations while traveling, to stake out locations, to hide someone you're trying to protect, or even as a jail to temporarily hold someone you're taking in alive.
Sadly, it is in Naruto, a series that has nothing to do with stealth based, clandestine mercenaries or assassins.
And during a wizard duel, house summoning isn't that useful.
I gotta say, I think some of these Jutsu had potential to be much more useful but were just never shown in that way. Yamato’s wood houses could be designed as a maze to effectively trap enemies inside or at least stall for an escape. On that same coin, it can act as a sealing jutsu similar to Gaara’s sand mausoleum when the right seals are applied
roof tile could have tiles attached with explosive tags or bigger explosives and make them into frag grenades as in ancient times grenades were made with ceramics (and those would have steal hardness)
The 4 pillar house technique seems like it could be pretty useful. just not in battle but instead in the event where you would need a place to stay. You could save a lot of money on housing.
Or it could be used in survival situation, on the island, in the desert, in Antarctica etc., or help with homeless problem by giving them some good house

Kishimoto completely screwed Ten-Ten and wasted such a good character. Even Ten-Ten from day 1 was more useful than Sakura and it stayed that way until Sakura got special treatment just because Sakura is part of Team 7. Team Guy would've wiped the floor with Team Kakashi and every other team even after the time skip with Sai as Sasuke's replacement. Ten-Ten was never behind or lacking in Team Guy's training which is pretty crazy. Had Kishimoto actually done something with Ten-Ten she would've been a complete monster. Body flicker, Flying Rajin, whatever. Heck, she could've even been like the Animal Path of Pain. (Which is funny considering she met the live Animal path before she became the Animal Path. (Which had abilities just like hers).
She did get a bad match up that's true. But I don't think she got AS screwed over as you think, yes she would have clapped Sakura but Sakura had talent in chakra control which ten ten didn't ten was a one trick pony so yes she mastered that one trick early on but she lacked potential. Others had more potential then she did and once they put time and training onto becoming better they really got a lot better then they was. Sakura was also kinda screwed she never really learned anything from team 7 so yeah she had to look elsewhere and she didn't come from a ninja family who would have been able to train her. Even without strength Sakura could most likely bet ten ten in a battle of just fist no chakra no anything just technic which is sad when you think that ten ten had probably the best trainer in hand to hand in the whole village maybe the world. She could have trained in that or would have been able to open at least a few gates (so yeah that means she did get screwed over, especially when she was written to not really care about that kind of training) she focused on weapons which yeah she should have been learning how to do some cool sword shit like maybe going to the land of iron for training or she could have trained more in sailing style so yeah she did get screwed but she also focused on throwing weapons which the most basic thing all ninja learn and there for learn to counter which is why kunia and other ninja tools are not very effective in the whole show not just when ten ten used them. Truth be told post time skip Sakura learned and grew way more then anybody on team 7 not just as a ninja but as medical ninja which takes crazy amounts of studying was even able to counter sasuris poison something he's grandma who was a talented and experienced poison user wasnt able to do and thats 3 years of experience vs. 30+ years (made worse by the fact that she was in war times which ninja notable grow a lot during, all the strongest ninjas ever has been though war) point of the mater she was screwed but giving her lack of chakra skills she didn't have options and the options she had she didn't take the flying thunder god not only uses chakra control but way more chakra then she probably even has. I think one of the biggest ways she was screwed over is the fact she's not a teacher in Boruto she has skills that could be passed down but she's just sitting in shop thats failing but TBH that's a big thing in all of Naruto is the fact that not a lot of people are being trained like they could be or training people like they should which is dumb cause it's not like being a ninja couldn't get you killed or anything

For Zaku's ability, it's not that it comes from his elbows. When you have pressure in a tube it will explode out of the spot with least resistance. For an arm, that would be the joint, since the tube inside will have to be able to bend with his arm. But the tube goes all the way up his arm (likely puling chakra from his core).
As for the worst jutsu, you forgot "Story Style: Plot Armor" which allows any user to succeed or fail when they otherwise shouldn't have. That technique serves no real purpose.
Yeah still not sure how the bugs form an AIR TIGHT seal in his arms. Which is what they would have had to do. And how they survived the pressure at all without being crushed, broken, etc and projected out of the tubes.
@@TheLastSane1 Well we never saw the bugs exit his hands, so it's likely that Shino sent those brave soldiers off to die as they packed themselves in tight enough to form a mass of bug guts held in place with only friction as the pressure beat down on it.
But they're also chakra-eating bugs, so I assume there could have been a thin layer constantly getting eaten before it hits them. Maybe them eating the chakra at the opening takes out the punch of the waves at that spot, so it backs up and explodes before being able to punch through both the layer of dead wave & bugs.

As a deadly technique i guess the roof tile shiruken is so low it shouldn't be on a tier lol i wouldn't say it's useless. I would say it's one of the only useful shiruken techniques used in the show. Considering the scale the top tiers are at i can see this technique being more useful for setting up for an opening than Tenten getting a kill with her technique 😅.
i mean theoretically if you are in konoha with tailbeast size charka reserve you can maybe throw the entire village roof top at someone i mean that would be a pretty decent distraction seeing a entire village worth of roof tile coming at you might distract you form the attack coming next
I would say that given the speed and kinetic energy of the tiles, they should hit way harder than shuriken meaning that they are probably a lot more deadly than they look. They should be like 20-30 pounds per tile going at like 90 mph.
It's funny because projectiles in Naruto would be the same as energy blasts in dragon ball. The almost never do significant damage to characters that matter.

I think the issue is just that Twin Rising Dragons is actually a really cool and strong jutsu.....in OG Naruto. I think the only one natures that wouldve been a legit counter to it is Earth and strong enough wind release. The issue is that as the show went on, certain natures got stronger and the power scaling went through the roof, something like Twin Rising Dragons can't keep up when people are shooting mountain blasting bombs, and CUTTING THE MOON IN HALF

One point to make about Tenten and her weapon scrolls is that Sasuke put summoning seals on himself to get kunai and shuriken. Maybe Sasuke just had the chakra reserves that such a thing was realistic for him, when an average ninja couldn't afford to do so, but it does show that her main move does have some merit as a support jutsu. Tentens problem is that she's doing absolutely nothing else with the technique. That sort of weapon spam is going to be best used to create an opening of some form, but Tenten can only rely on Lee, Neji, or Gai to utilize those openings.

Nice video as usual but one thing being overlooked here is the 'potential' for each jutsu. It's worth noting that most of these jutsu were performed by ninjas still in their early stages of development. Imagine we didn't have the rasengan as we know it and the only time it was shown in the show is when kid Konomaharu tried to attack big bro Naruto who simply slapped it away. I am sure it would have made this list. However, because we have seen how effective it can be when it is used by extremely powerful Ninja, we have more appreciation for it.

Tenten has literally the same power as that super OP gold guy from the Fate series but since she’s just throwing the weapons and they’re normal weapons, anyone who can deflect stuff is immune to it. If she was able to just activate the six paths weapons all at once at one targeting a single person it would be good
Bro, Yamato's 4 Pillar House Jutsu is basically the D&D Spell Leomund's Tiny Hut. And everyone who has played D&D and has seen that spell in action knows the value of having a safe place to rest sometimes. Sure, no practical combat use, but the utility aspect is clean.

Roof Tile Shuriken is one of my favorites cuz it made you think the possibilities of jutsu were endless. Also it allowed for more techniques than just spamming Shadow Clones and Rasengans all battle
The third and fourth's Riakage's lighting release armor were both shown to block thrown weapons and Kakashi was shown to use both lightning release clones and attacks to intercept long range attacks so......yeah, all five nature releases have been shown to easily block thrown weapons in the Naruto verse. It's why I don't think there is a single instance of someone above the rank of genin getting killed by them.
And even if they hit, they're apparently weak af...

Things we know:
Kakashi is familiar with incomplete sage mode like Jiraiya
We know that at one point there used to be powerful dragons that look like what we would consider dinosaurs, specifically like velociraptors.
Kakashi is well versed so he may know about these old and powerful dragons
Kakashi was at least somewhat afraid of a dragon sage mode jutsu of sorts and it made him hesitant. Was it still a bluff? Yes. Is it a useless jutsu? Also yes. But I’d like to think it was more than just a “kakashi didn’t know what this jutsu was so he was cautious”
I think a part of the jutsu that was overlooked is he slid under the branch so his cloak was around his hhead. Hence the "frilled" in "frilled lizard".

To be fair, I always saw Roof Tile Shuriken as a way underrated jutsu, not because it's powerful, but because what you're throwing is so absolutely unremarkable. We know that high-level sealing experts can attach seals instantaneously. How? We don't know, but I'm assuming they imprint the chakra seal onto the object with handseals. So you just slap whatever seal you want onto those tiles and NO ninja is going to pay attention to roof tiles being thrown at you, especially if you move on to another jutsu immediately like Hiruzen did. Explosive tags, storage seals, barrier seals, paralysis seals. Any number of things could be on those tiles!
Besides that, I always saw the "Roof Tile" part of it as just Hiruzen being cute/cheeky. Realistically that's "Earthen Shuriken" jutsu, because the roof tiles are ceramics, so basically just quickfired earth.
I would say Cocoon is not that bad. That was vs the adamantine chain of the gheddo statue which is the husk of the ten tails. So its kind of specially made to rip tailed beasts out of people and it still slowed it down. Its something. Vs say any other form of chakra absorption it probably works better.
Head Canon. There isn't infinite Kuni in the bag. It's a summon scroll for Kuni. Everybody can do what ten ten does. It's just more common to leave the scroll in that pouch because they don't use them as much as her.

A lot of the elements have common throughlines for how the jutsu all work that seem to form a basis for the release as a whole.
Like with water style where its always either expelling water at high speed or high volume, or shaping water and controlling it, costing more chakra if you arent using water in your environment
Or like lightning, where all jutsu seem to be either flowing lightning through you, cloaking yourself or other things in lightning, or expelling/controlling lightning. Stuff like that!

This was the moved used by the Proctor of the 3rd exam preliminaries against the Jonin leader of the Sand Siblings, when he discovered the Sand Village's plot with the sound village. It was super cool looking, using the visuals of the slowed-down afterimages of a sword to make a full moon shape before jumping and making the slash...but it did literally nothing. Baki caught it with his shoulder; it didn't even cut his flak jacket, and then Baki used wind release to rip the guy to shreds.

Throwing weapons do not do much by themselves, but they force the enemy to react. Showering weapons on the enemy will not do much against a powerful enemy, but it will create an opening for her teammates to attack.
As if speed god Lee and Neji need Tenten to create openings for them.

Cocoon probably has multiple defensive uses, we just only saw it's ability to stop chakra absorption. It probably is a strong defensive shield, and could be especially useful with medical Ninjutsu, since you can protect people while they are healing their fellow shinobi.
It could also have ability to absorb chakra and make sort of chakra sauna inside. It could help with regenerating chakra.

I would say that log summoning is better then water shuriken as you could summon it above somebody and crush them with like a half a ton log.
Also home creating jutsu is also good jutsu as if you had to survive in some wild place it can easily create shelter. IT could be used as some very bad barrier for things like water jutsu as it would create all around barrier.
It also has great use to simply make homes.
Decapitating airways might be dangerous to user but it still is sort of deadly invisible sound speed attack and if he was using it not in close combat it is good technique that could get someone by surprise.
Tiles shuriken could be good as it works similar to ten ten jutsu that it can let you throw a lot of stuff at once at the enemy. However we dont know how taxing it is but if it is rly cheap I think it is perfectly good, especially if you would hide explosive tags before hand on those tiles.
Tenten jutsu is rly bad as it is:
1- pricy
2- needs to prepare scroll and weapon
3- takes long time to activate
4- requires a lot of skill
AS for cocoon we don't know if it has some other uses, as it can slow down draininng of chakra I believe it can hide user from detection somewhat, can be used as shelter, but it could have like healing capabilities, or when becoming better at it let you recover chara quiker ( it could be able to absorb nature chakra from outside and create chakra sauna inside)

One thing I can imagine is Yamato finding the home-making jutsus in one of the scrolls Hashirama left and him and just reading through a weird diary/sketchscroll and finding all of Hashirama's notes on the houses he wanted to make in his new village, which is why they have so much detail. And this being the scrolls Danzo gave him without checking cuz he thought they were irrelevant. And a few years later all Konoha Shinobi fight to have him cuz they have a roof while on missions. Just a thought that came up.

I'd actually argue that the Four Pillar House Technique is one of the more useful jutsus in Naruto. Not for combat mind you, but just for life in general. Even if you can only spawn six of them in a day, that's six entire houses that you can just spawn every single day, and that is, quite literally, free real estate. Yamato should be one of the richest people in Konoha.
Yamato's house jutsu is the most useful jutsu in the real world.
What makes it even worse is that some of these jutsu could be used in arguably better ways such as: instead of wasting chakra making a house for camping, use that chakra to trap your opponent in a room filled with like spikes or something, wall to wall floor and roof, skewering them like a pin cushion since he doesn't have to only use wood in these houses, he could potentially use metals for this house like titanium too make it incredibly difficult to escape, or instead of using 2 dragons to launch yourself and 2 scrolls into the air, use them to idk ATTACK!
