  • No defender will stay in front of their matchup for an entire game, or even entire possession most times. We're SUPPOSED to get beat at times -- basketball is an offensive-based game. What all great defenders have in common is the ability to recovery after that moment of being beaten.

@@richnychauvel830 Ok some utubers you can check out are coach mike. He goes over the individual parts of team defense and has player comparisons for it. So like breakdowns on Marcus Smart, Beverly, kg etc. And goes into post and perimeter d. Then there is always hoops who has compilations you can look over and learn from. Also Toomuchhoops has team defense breakdowns as well. As someone who played good bc he never learned offense, these guys are all good. Reply back if you need anything more specific.

Alesnadro Nesta AC Milan's center back and for lot of people he is the 2nd grearest defender in history after Maldini i loved that u making reference here to soccer.
i m playing as a center back in soccer i was playing it since my 1st year in middle school and i m playing as a center back and i was the best defender is south of Morocco for 4 straight years , this year i started playing basketball after kobe's death and the oldest players says to me that i m a great defender and i won a defensive player of the tournament in 3 tournaments i ve played in this year soo maybe it's right there is a big relation between defense in soccer and basketball. (but still a bad player on offense without a jumpshot) 😐

great advice. A player thinking about offense may look at the defender's feet or hips to decide to go left or right, but on defense you need to constantly be readjusting to the offensive player's smallest hints where they might go. Offense is the hunter, patient and probing. Defense (usually) is preparing to run. Where it can change is with a defender who is quick, but with great length to challenge for the ball on a dribble. When it's out of the offensive player's hand it's anybody's ball.

To add to this, here's a video of pre-injury Grant Hill torching Pippen on defense. MJ had to switch on to Hill and did a much better job, using the sprinting technique perfectly. Notice that MJ would use his shoulder and body to absorb Hill's momentum while keeping his other arm high to avoid foul calls. ruclips.net/video/pzH3-Ak7Acc/видео.html

Let me.this very clear. In that allstar game Kobe was using his left arm to hold on Lebron's right arm so he cant get his lift and pull him for the attempt of the block. He cheats like crazy hahah. Look at the replay again from another angle. I remember seeing and watching the game and seeing the replays.
