      Nature makes the laws of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, chemical reactions, etc, sure. And the rest is just cause and effect. For example, we spend over a century burning carbon and releasing CO2 and methane into the atmosphere, the effect is that more energy from the sun stays trapped in our atmosphere. Retaining more energy in the atmosphere means that the temperature rises across the planet. The planetary poles warm, ice caps melt, and the temperature differential between the equator and the poles reduces. This slows down the gulf stream and causes tropical weather systems in the Atlantic to move more slowly, spending longer building up power and accumulating more moisture due to their higher temperatures (again because of the global temperature rise). The melting ice caps also expose long-frozen permafrost in which tremendous amounts of carbon-rich gases have been trapped for centuries. As that permafrost melts, those gases are released into the atmosphere, further accelerating the global temperature rise.
      Nature makes the rules, we pay the price when we don't understand them and/or ignore them.

    I lived several years of my childhood in San Jose CA. Back then the area north of Capital Expressway had not been developed. Anyway, one Spring it rained a lot. An area between the 4 hills filled with water creating a mini-oasis thriving with all sorts of animals. Possibly best Summer of my childhood.

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe 3 года назад +1

      I grew up there. And know exactly the area. Now is Lake Cunningham and Ranging Waters next door. That spot has always been where water pooled and couldn't be developed so when all the development that went on in the area occurred the developers forgot to put in park land. Parkland is required by law there for every certain amount of acres developed into housing there needs to be a certain amount of parkland. Anyways some citizen found out about this and brought the issue up to city counsel and the developers didn't allocate any land for parks. So the solution was that they turn the wetland into a park fulfilling their obligation. I actually learned about this at SJSU in a Science and Citizenship class.
