I am a flatazz tourist when it comes to apps on my phone... I needed to make a decent generalized floorpan of a property I am selling. I started with a tape measure..'no way, even taking half the day was I going to make a decent drawing. I went on CL looking for a draftsman - no response. I stumbled on CC and looked around at a couple of other apps. It took my second try to get a decent walkaround. (I shudda practiced first ..and planned the route w/o the camera going..) You folks in the trades know all about this, but this tourist got a decent print on the second try. Thanks folks. Jim/Maryland
For designing residential additions I need accurate dimensions, ceiling heights, window sill and head heights, floor to floor dimensions, exterior elevations, and files in .dwg format. Does Cubicasa do that ?
Hey I’m curious how cubicasa works when it comes to scanning exterior patios? Does the patio have to be covered in order for it to generate the floor plan? Or in general, how does it make the floor plan for the exterior?
I do As-Built measure as a business. Can you take the PDF and input it into a CAD program to get each wall measurement, and if so, is it accurate? Thanks in advance
I dont use revit or any of the cad software enough to answer this but I wouldn't rely on just pdf measurements, I would want to start with some sort of point cloud file like an e57
How did you get your logo on there? Can you put the address on the floorplan on the app? I’ve been using the svg file on AI to edit this stuff, but can you do it on the app?
When you login to the website you can go to settings then style and create a style that includes your logo. it'll apply it automatically to the floorplans. Or you can use AI/Photoshop afterwards.
Hi, I believe you can order a gla report without fixtures. regarding ceiling heights that's a good question. I would bring a laser measure (like this one: amzn.to/3MXVPna ) and use that
I don't know about others but I have used it in "hoarder" situations with stuff piled everywhere and still got results. It is an amazing app albeit with some flaws
Accurate enough for what I 'm charging. I alway make sure the disclaimer is there. Sometimes I'll hand measure 1 room with a Bosh laser device just to check the accuracy later. You'll never get the same numbers and The home owner or realtor will always claim more sq footage but such is life. If they want a floor plan that will stand up in court well then that's not me.
It's on their website: www.cubi.casa/pricing/ Free for a 2d floorplan with no fixed furniture (tubs, toilets, sinks, kitchen cabinets). add $15 for fixed furniture. Add $15 for a GLA report. add $15 for a 6 hour turn around time (vs approx 24 hours). add $35 for a 3D floorplan. add $99 for a 3D render video.
It's a good app but it seems like every third scan or so things go off the rails . I will get an error message like : "We have lost track of your phone please try again"This usually comes at the very end of a session when I'm 99% done! Frustrating especially with people watching . The only choice is to start again. Sometimes I'll get so annoyed that I'll scan the property in two bites, First two levels then another two on a different order. I'll piece the scans together later in photoshop . Any insights to this? Cubi Casa isn't much help. I just get the corporate line.
that is frustrating, hasn't been my experience though and we've done maybe 200 cubicasa scans now as a company. I have only had one issue with the app thus far, early on, when trying to upload I got a failure and had to go back to the property to scan it... now I upload at the property. I don't have more insight into it but keep pressing them, they should give you some sort of answer/reason why.
So beautiful video thanks for sharing stay safe always

Hi Jim, glad CC worked out for you! it took me a few times to get it right :)
you lost me at login and open closet doors😂😂😂
Thanks Tom! I find it so curious that Cubicasa is ANSI compliant but Matterport is not. Really enjoy all of your video content.
love this content .... definitely subscribing
Awesome, thank you!
OMG. What a great app!! I feel bad for my floorplan artist. He can't compete with this pricing, although he can add virtual furniture.
yeah! its definitely a great app!

You'd have to check their website to see if it'll give you what you're in need of.
I may have missed this, but would another floor be on the same video/order?
the entire house is 1 scan... so multiple floors can be scanned on the same order
Hey I’m curious how cubicasa works when it comes to scanning exterior patios? Does the patio have to be covered in order for it to generate the floor plan? Or in general, how does it make the floor plan for the exterior?
Hi, you'd have to ask them but in my experience they dont always draw patios, covered or not.
Incredible App ! Thanks for you video
can we choose the scale 1/50th or 1/20th for the rendering ? I’m in Paris France 😅
Hi, you're welcome... i'm not sure about choosing the scale, i'd advise you contact cubicasa support

Does it work with any android device or it must be an iphone pro with lidar sensor?

I couldn’t see but when you went to make an edit was there a spot to change dimensions If they were incorrect?
you can submit a fix request to adjust the size of the room if its incorrect.
Can you order the GLA report and NOT the fixtures? Or what is the easiest way for me to get ceiling heights for wall measurements? Thank you.

great video man, please keep making more. i just started to do commercial leasing and this is great advice
Thank you! the commercial side of the business is great! best of luck to you.
Question: How does it adjust for ceiling height? (can't count space under 7')
ceiling height plays no factor in calculating square footage, its just floor area.
Great video, super helpful information! Quick question, can you also edit the measurements on the floor plan?
No, you can download floorplans without measurements however.
Last question... Does the home have to be empty or will a couch trick the program thinking its a wall.... Just asking
no we've done plenty of homes with furniture in them.
I don't know about others but I have used it in "hoarder" situations with stuff piled everywhere and still got results. It is an amazing app albeit with some flaws
Thank you for the tutorial. Who pays the fee for the app (additions) the agent pays the fee initially, but afterwards?
We charge agents up front, they pay the fees we set.
@@sparksmediagroup I understand that, but now agents can use this app. Do the agents charge their clients ?
I'm not an agent so I don't know what they offer their clients. our clients are Agents
@@sparksmediagroup yes I understood that. 😉 Thank you for the tutorial
How do I order .
Can you do it with furniture in the house.
yes, you can.
What happens if you dont have cell signal? or 1 bar?
You can upload when you have a signal.
Is this accurate enough to use for rms measurements?
Great question, I don't know the answer to that, sorry.

You'll never get the same numbers and The home owner or realtor will always claim more sq footage but such is life. If they want a floor plan that will stand up in court well then that's not me.
Can you share the price structure? I really don't want to have to talk with a sales person.

The app is asking for my payment information before I send any more floor plans... is it going to charge me?
I don’t work for CubiCasa. You’d have to ask them.

@@sparksmediagroup Just curious, are you using apple or android phone? I'm on android and I suspect that might e the root of it.
Why pdf? Should be converted to CAD. Too expensive
for these quick floorplans we usually only use the jpgs, not the pdfs
How does it work in a 10,000 sf house with furniture every 5 ft an closets packed to the top???? LOL
I think every house is slightly different, I haven't ran into any issues yet.
How long does it take them to return floorplans? Great video!!!
usually a day, or a little less, they have a rush option too.
