You should split the MDR family into short and long action. Do a combat reliable 5.56 (and .300blk) size bullpup. No fancy ejection, no .308 size and weight. Just a lightweight, compact, reliable bullpup with a precision trigger. The gun the AUG and Tavor and L85 always wanted to be. 16" and 12" options. No barrel touching picatinny slot that burns up your hand. And then the current big boy version for 308, 6.5 and now 8.6blackout, also with a micron configuration.
That’s on my Instant Buy list as well. Ian from Forgotten Weapons did a video on the Micron recently and they’ve told him that making a 300 Blackout Micron has a bunch of engineering challenges. It DOES sound like they’re working on it, but Desert Tech will never again announce a product before it’s ready to be released.
Desert tech is smarter then most would think, one thing they always get right is the railed gas block, even in the early days they advertised there MDR with a mini reddot mounted on the gas block so that the dot and barrel point at the same direction giving far greater accuracy then alot of guns. This is something not many gun companies care to pay attention to. Not even Knights armament, the top of the line AR15 producers even see it. Or not anymore. Old m110s used to have a railed block.
Any plans for a MDRx Micron in .300 AAC BLK (or a conversion kit)? Edit: Forgot to add “micron”. The standard MDRX in .300 AAC BLK had been out for sometime.
in germany they sell 16 inch 300blk. witch perform fantastic. beside the fact that the only option they run is suppressed and in advanced setting. but then they run like a Volkswagen
@@marcgasber6814 I forgot to specify the “micron” sub variant. So far it was only released in .223/5.56 NATO. Glad to hear you are having success with it. I want a compact .300 blk for eventual suppressor use and narrowed down to the Desert Tech and the IWI X95. A big nuisance of the X95 is that the adjustable gas block is located on the picatinny rail on the receiver, so you have to remove your optics to reach, which is a bummer.
Can the new 2023 tungsten version of the mdrx be turned into the micron by purchasing the conversion kit? Saw one on Gun broker with just the chassis and no barrel. Wondering if the micron barrel and handgaurd can be installed?
Hey guys another great video! I'm curious do you know if a 1.7 inch diameter silencer will fit under the alx handguard without touching? I have a rex silentium on order and I considering this handguard.
This is a great showcase of the Micron, But please I would like you guys to showcase the long range abilities of the 6.5 creed a little more its video still left some questions with me. What is the accuracy guarantee of a 20 inch 6.5 creedmore mdrx @Desert Tech.
I recently filed my eForm1. It's REALLY frustrating that a FE version is not available. I'm going to get REAL frowny if I spend the money converting to SE and then Desert Tech decides to release a FE version. I would need fewer parts since I went with the unique FE model originally. I've seen many people asking and requesting the micron in FE but Desert Tech doesn't seem to be listening. Even if I have to wait, I would rather do that and get the FE I want. And so would many others I'm sure.

@@DesertTechUT I think most of us understand this. For instance, me and my unicorn ask for a Micron + Mantis. Which was BRIEFLY shown off in this video with the Micron + ALX. Maybe BLK LBL can make some arms that attach to the ALX and give me my Unicorn Rifle. Anyways, I also think Desert Tech has a shining example of how to handle issues like this in their famous response to the InRange video and their candid response from the CEO that took ownership and fixed the issues. THAT Desert Tech response won a lot of customers for life. What I think would help is an understanding from Desert Tech of those challenges when it comes to the next generation. We’ve seen people ask for Micron 300 and the only response I’ve seen online is from the Forgotten Weapons video where Ian states that there are pressure issues when dealing with a barrel that short. Having a public response on where the challenges are and what is absolutely NOT going to happen would probably earn a bunch more customers who respect the ability to speak openly. We understand the strict policy of never again announcing a product before launch, similar to Apple. That’s a great policy. But stating flat out that there will never be an MDR .22LR conversion kit might do wonders for us hungry MDR fanboys. Sincerely, one of those incessant MDR for life customers.
Hi there Desert Tech people. How about a 9mm micron or even a 5.7? It would open a whole new market for you and offer a capability to use pistol ammo with micron....PCC.

Of course, tungsten is just the color. Everything else about the rifle is the same as the rest.
