A3 Tactical's Triad Bullpup chassis is what you just saw. It takes any FM-15 upper (including their new .300BLK). They also make a version for the BRN-180 and PSA JAKL. I've got one on pre-order, should see it next month.
First off, when he was talking about the gas tube he said "fuel injection fitting", and I heard "watt's link" in the trigger on the bullpup. I'm beginning to think they're a bunch of truck guys.
The 45 degree gas block should have been done in the AR market years ago because it's the most reliable way to perfectly line up a gas block AND clean the gas system after firing. Just fit the block in place loose, stick an appropriately sized allen wrench in the hole into the barrel to line it up, then tighten the lock screws, or pin in place, whichever you like most. If done properly it would even work with standard gas tubes and wouldn't require a custom bent tube.
"By the way Denton, did you see what happened to the soldier we sent into the statue? He turned up dead." "He had an assault gun. I wanted it." "I am opening an investigation. Dismissed."
Unfortunately they don't. However, on Tactical Hyve Coch was showing his bullpup conversion using the same Foxtrot Mike FM15 upper. It ejected the brass forward rather than to the side but with an ordinary AR-15/M16 ejection port and cover, nothing complicated like the Desert Tech forward eject (which as of a few days ago is now discontinued, side eject only now).
You all could use that bullpup chassis with a Gibbz lefty upper. The NON recriprocaring charging handle would be on the upper, on the same side as shooter
If you are looking for a more standard ar bullpup, check out the FAMAR. You need to 3D print it, but that in itself is an advantage. Initially I just looked at it more as as cosmetic work but after shooting it a while it has become my favorite bullpup, more so than the AUG. It's about 3" longer in OAL than the Foxtrot.
Impressive stuff. Great design and attention to detail with what Foxtrot Mike guns are doing right now. Simplicity in a firearm means a reliable firearm.
Got to love stuff that's off the beaten path. I know a guy who own nothing but Sigs and Daniel Defense ARs, what a horrible way to go through life. Missing out on something like this and damn near everything Kel-Tec has ever made. 🤯🤯🤯
Yep yep. However, the TRIAD is what it is because of the Foxtrot Mike FM15 upper. Gotta give FTM and other similar bufferless upper manufacturers the credit they deserve or there would be no TRIAD.
These AR based bullpups make getting a bullpup cost effective and with readily compatible AR sourced parts if you need to replace something. The other bullpups like IWI, DT, SF, etc. are great but proprietary and parts are not plentiful, you can't just grab parts anywhere and go like you can with AR based bullpups. That's the difference. Unfortunately a con is that full ambi is not available in AR based bullpups. Pros and cons to everything right.
As an armorer and builder for over 22 years, I'm going to beg you to come up with a gas block for install on mil-spec barrels that uses that gas-tube! Please! That is incredibly elegant and speeds up a step that can be extremely frustrating. It also means that a catastrophic blow-out at the gas tube, which is an intended failure point, can be swapped out in the field with minimal training.
That 45 degree gas port on the barrel sounds like a bad idea. The soviets experienced bullet shearing at their 45 degree port when they switched to 5.45, which led them to change the AK74 gas port to 90 degrees
Эту газовую трубку можно вставить в АР систему перед установкой ствола вместе с ним , и снять так же вместе со стволом на сколько я понял . На запрессованом стволе это уже невозможно будет сделать . This gas tube can be inserted into the AR system before installing the barrel with it , and removed as well with the barrel as far as I understood . It will no longer be possible to do this on a pressed barrel .
If they made it any shorter they could make a holster for it, and create the worlds greatest sidearm. At least until they come out with a bullpup shotgun pistol with triple tubes like that tavor shotgun.
Oh wow, the 9 inch .300 blk is really interesting.... is there an arm pistol variant with no stock I wonder? Edit: nevermind I just answered my own question. Yes it exists and now I want one.
In .40 Super with saboted 62 grain whatever, either M855A1 or ALCO's 0.45 ballistic coefficient bullet (both about one inch long) with a good puller sabot design one should be able to hit 3,000 fps in a six inch barrel. Easily in an eight inch barrel. Longer magazines would be required due to diameter increase, but M4 carbine+ ballistics in a weapon a little over a foot long. Lots less gunpowder burned to achieve the same or better muzzle energy.
That's AWESOME!!!! I LOVE BULLPUPS!!!! It's so much better than a short barrel AR. I have several AR's, but the shortest one I have is in 300blk at 10.3". You waste too many FPS going below a 12.5" 5.56.
The ONLY issue I see is the height of the sight over bore especially since this would be for closer distances. This looks great but is it practical and usable is my question.
Like the other person said, that is a handle that you can take off. It doesn't require your optic to be that tall over bore if you don't want it to be.
The fas block and extension being part of the barrel is great but why go to the trouble of the muzzle break when people want to put on their own muzzle devices anyway?
So which barrel are we looking at here? Are these new features to be used in the 300BLK barrel that we can buy from A3 along with the TRIAD chassis? I like the built in KeyMO muzzle device.
