What a great review! I have been on the market for a new sleeping bag and after watching this video I think I may also go with the Nemo Disco! I tend to be a cold sleeper like your friend, so hopefully paired with a quality liner I'll be nice and toasty. Thanks again and I look forward to the next video!
Just bought this bag and I like it. Low 20s on the first try, low 30s on the second very warm both days. Didn’t need my Coleman 10 pound comforter sleeping bag so it was just an underlayment. I do need to find a smaller pillow to fit in the pocket.
Hey Thac, weird question, have you tried sleeping in Louisa's Riff? It's not a fair comparison because she would need to have the "long" women's version to match the size of the men's "regular", but I've heard complaints that the Riff just isn't roomy enough to allow side sleeping as comfortably as the Disco. I'm also considering buying the women's Disco 15, despite being male, because I'm a very cold sleeper, and the women's version is warmer (despite the same 15º in its name, it has 225g more down in it), and I'm curious how much the dimension adjustments for women can actually be felt by a man sleeping in it. Thanks.
I've laid in her bag, but I'm a back sleeper and relatively thin for a human, so it was still roomy for me. If you can I'd recommend trying out the sleeping bags in a store.
@@thacroams I would, but I'm in Australia, and our two Nemo retailers only have the Kayu model on offer :( Thanks for the info though, good to know you still felt roomy.
I got the Nemo Disco. I took it camping on the Appalachian Trail. I had some nights that were in the single digits. And the sleeping bag kept me warm and toasty all night. Make sure to use it with the proper sleeping pad. That is key.
Hi, this review is really good and I am definitely going to buy it. But I have one question that bothers me. I have one sleeping bag 20F and when it’s 60F+ it’s extremely hot in there. Do you have an experience with this bag in higher temperatures? Like between 40F to 68F? I would really appreciate this information :)
Really excellent & useful review. I love your honest straight forward opinions & feature overview. I just got the 15° bag & can't wait to use it! Your review really makes me feel good about the purchase. The bag is a bit pricey but good sleep is a pretty important part of your hike/camp experience. I believe in getting good quality gear that will last. Nemo also stands behind this bag with a lifetime warranty. Making this very worthwhile for me. Thanks for the great review! Really appreciate it! Bob V
We're so glad to hear that it was helpful! It is true that the bag is a bit up there in price, but so far the quality has been amazing and Nemo as a brand is super solid. You're so right about good sleep meaning so much for being able to enjoy the rest of the experience and we'd love to hear how everything goes for you when you use it!! Thanks so much for watching and getting in touch, we'll see you around soon for another camping adventure!
Hey guys what's up, great review!! I'm gonna pick your brain. I clock in at a giant 6'4 240. Mummy bags feel like I'm being zip tied, rectangle bags weigh a million pounds and take up to much pack space. Do you all think the Nemo "spoon" design kinda splits the difference? I'm a side sleeper, do you think one of the Nemo spoon designs would work for me?
Thanks for watching! Yeah, usually mummy bags for me feel like I'm getting stuffed into a sack to die. But Nemos are pretty roomy. I know that they make a "relaxed spoon", which is the Nemo Tempo. It's wider and has more room. Lowest Temp rating is 20F. However, it does pack a bit bigger than the ones we have, because of the larger size. Hope that helps!
I’m 6’0” 220 and an exclusive side sleeper. The pillow pocket in the Disco, combined with an inflatable pad/pillow combo, keeps my head high enough and ends the middle of the night pillow hunts. The toe box is dry down, so even if your feet happen to catch condensation, your bag won’t be 4 pounds heavier in the morning. Best bag I’ve ever owned.
You guys look like you're in a warm climate... Arizona? The rift is likely too warm lol I have the Disco, use it in Canada in the winter. Like I use it in -4 F, and sleep comfortably (well not my face, need the balaclava lol). The riff would be better for these Temps mid January, but I sleep hot, and don't like producing more heat vapor.
Have you had any issues with the insulation moving down in the bag since it only has vertical seams and not horizontal ones to keep insulation from moving up or down? Thanks
No. But I did not like ones with the sleeping pad pocket because they remove padding from that area. I tend to roll around, And I have an extra wide sleeping pad that doesn’t fit in the pockets of other models.
Thoughts in this bag as of today? I just bought this bag and am worried it is gonna be cold. A lot of reviews saying this bag is NOT a 15 degree bag... Thanks
For summertime, it's a little bit overkill. So, if it's summer you can probably bring something lighter and thinner. But for winter, I didn't really struggle too much with weight with the bag. Obviously, there are people really into ultra-light-weight gear, but we like to enjoy some comfort.
@@thacroams I am 6'0" tall and tested the regular and long bag before purchasing the regular size. I found that when I scooch all the way down, I still have 6" of extra room. At 5'11", you'd have 7" of extra room.
Do the womens and mens bags need to be the same length for them to zip together? I notice the womens regular length bag is for someone who is 5’6 but the mens regular length is for someone 6’0. Is this a problem when they zip together?
Never get “all the way” into your bag. Especially one that is down filled. The moisture from your breath will make it damp, and it won’t keep you as warm. I realize it makes you feel warm at first. But it will make you colder in the long run.
That is likely. However, it is also likely that womens models have a bit more fill. This may be disclosed, and it might be labeled the same wt even if filled different. It is very common since women are cooler sleepers on average. That may be what they meant
Could you guys do a detailed video on how two of these bags join together please ?
Curious to know if you have found a upper limit above which the bags have become uncomfortably warm.

Footbox and head material is to waterproof ends from capillary water wicking from tent wall condensation. It’s a very well thought out design.
Great review with a lot of info i haven't seen in other videos. Thank you!

Awesome love that you like it! And a few of our friends have inflatable pillows, but we don't like the feel of them. Hence, the small pillow pet haha.

Like the video.

It isn't 15F. Most bags aren't comfortable to the rating they say. I'd say for 25F it's pretty okay.
im coming back to the outdoor scene, nemo is new to me. are they a good company/quality? are they a new company or have they been around forever?
I think they've been around for a bit. We've had no issue with their quality. Some friends have their pillows and tents... No complaints.
@@thacroams awesome, thank you. im gonna give them a shot. peace
Let us know what sleeping bag you have and if you like it! Also, if you're a couple, what sleep system do you go with to zip-up together?

@@thacroams Thank you for your advice!
What size do you recommend? I’m 5’11”
I'd still get the regular size. If you get the long, you'll have 7 inches of dead space, which will get cold.

We both had regulars and they zipped together.

nice!
Can you compare them to one another?
Nice! Women's L is same dimension as Mens R but with more insulation. So a R man who sleeps cold: women's L.
