- The Hero Xtreme 125R is a sporty commuter that presents a premium take on the 125cc class, sort of like the TVS Raider does but it's physically quite a bit larger than the TVS. Three things to keep in mind. First, the Xtreme 125R uses what should be thought of as a new engine, although it did start life as the Glamour 125. It's got a counterbalancer for smoothness and produces about 11bhp and 11Nm, which is what bikes in this class - Raider and Pulsar NS125 do, give or take. Fuel economy, claimed at 63kmpl, is important in this segment, and this is roughly the claim for both of its nearest rivals too. Second, that engine goes into an updated frame that takes after the Xtreme 160R, with Showa suspension, in fact. That gives it light and agile handling and promises to be comfortable too. The tyres are wider than its peers and Hero says they underline both the premium 125 nature of the Xtreme and offer slightly more grip in the turns. Third, the design will polarise people because it's not traditional or classically proportionate. The Hero looks large, especially versus the Raider, and there's some nice details as well as some over the top things, like the tank extensions, or the way the DRLs are placed. Overall though, the physically larger size is probably going to work to Hero's advantage in this class.

I like what TVS and Hero are doing here. The 125cc motorcycles don't need to look like boring commuters everytime. Raider has done pretty well so far, let's see how this one does.

You can say It's the best looking 125cc bike. It isn't that too. But in it's price, yes it looks fresh and something very different. Upto But 200cc? You forgot Mt 15 and R15.

Hero and TVS is really doing good in making commuter segments attractive and sharp
Hero provides abs and 37mm telescopic suspension in this segment and that's enough to get attention .
Hero and TVs are doing a great job. Now it's time for Honda to shake things up and bring some fresh, sporty design to the commuter segment. A sleek, eye-catching bike with performance to match would definitely turn heads and attract a whole new wave of riders.

Design is indeed quite polarizing but if we just forget that part for a moment, i think hero has done a great job in trying to turn a traditionally boring commuter segment bike into a fun to ride premium motorcycle
IDK how the "feel and feedback" in in real life, but here are the numbers
1. Power, TVS = 11.38, hero = 11.55, xtreme 125r has about 1.4% more power than TVS, max power comes at 8250 rpm for hero, as compared to 7500 rpm for tvs
2. Torque, TVS = 11.2 Nm, Hero 10.5 Nm, tvs has about 6.6% more torque, both of them have peak torque at 6000 rpm, so I guess low end performance is better in TVS
3. 0 to 60 TVS = 5.9 seconds, same for hero
one upside I could think of hero is better service, crowded, but stil better than TVS

also we need good reliable motorcycles like old hero honda bikes sir, My father's bike Hero honda ambition 135 similar specs like xtreme 125r, today no single spares available for that bike. Old stocks only I'm collecting for bike renovation but still running like a mint bike without losing its charm original sound pick, reliability, and bullet proof durability. But now a days it very rare to get that kind of reliability from Hero Motocorp. I'm not excepting that kind of reliability from raider TVS but Hero should make reliable like older Hero honda Jem one's sir🙏

No one can predict future issues, Izhan. But to us, if you cannot trust the brand, you should not be buying their products in the first place, no matter how attractive they are. The worrying is just not worth it.

Cover the build quality topic too. I test driven the Xtreme 125r and there is a lot of cheap loose plastics and panel gaps. Other than this everything's perfect for 125 cc commuter.

Hey, should i buy this bike, i need a commuter for a me and and my father, we already have a splendor but i want him to use a bike with abs for some sort of protection and ill also enjoy the sporty nature of this. Do you recommend this??? Are there any major issue???

But hero new vertical engine's are not well refined it has full of vibrations after mid range. Earlier hero horizontal engine are best in class for long term use . But now i don't believe that it will give long life reliability 😑😑🥱 hero is improving in their designs but they are not providing long term using engine's. It will hardly last 3,4 year.

In the case of Xtreme 160r timing chains have to be replaced quite often. My friend had 4 changes within 20K Km although it's under warranty.

@@pavangurijala1312Pilion comfort is much better on the raider. As it can be used as family bike but its really hard to say for this one though.
Just put black tape over the drl's and it instantly improves the face of the bike. At least for me

I personally don't like the sporty 125s that much. These bikes were supposed to be boring and functional. Like the Honda shine or passion pro, where you can have your slightly obese friend sit behind you while holding a gas cylinder all while 5 carry bags full of vegetables are hanging from the back rest.
Or sometimes 3 friends tripling on the splendor going down the village road to the canal side, to just hang out and skip stones...
