    Your videos are on target. Question? Could you let me know this? Should I have an Etsy store for each product? One store for personalized pillows, one store for customized wall art, and one store for personalized cell phone cases? I really love your channel. Thanks in advance.

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  4 дня назад

      I recommend keeping them as individual stores. This not only makes it easier for customers to navigate, but it also simplifies updating SEO and managing other factors. Each item attracts a different audience, so it's much easier to adjust when not dealing with a wide range of unrelated products.
      When I first started my channel, I released a video showcasing how single-niche stores were making huge profits. Interestingly, about a month ago, someone commented that one of those stores expanded to include more items, and now their sales are down to a third of what they used to be. This really shows the power of a focused, niche store compared to an everything store.

      @@EtsyMentor I just started with your oldest video and am now watching them from oldest to most recent. Thank you. I only have about $200 to start this. My wife and I are 75 years old and live on Social Security. I am in this to start and build slowly. Everything that comes in will go right back into building a business.

      I started my Etsy business with just $100, so don’t let the startup costs hold you back. When funds are limited, you find creative ways to sell without needing a lot of money.

    I'm waiting on SPOKE to introduce the iPhone 16 hard case. I'll look into the suggestions to cartoon photos and personalize. It's time consuming if we get loads of personalized orders but... if thats where the bills are paid then thats where the billsxare paid.

      The great thing is that the action I provided significantly cuts down on time. I also included a tutorial with the email to show how it works in real-time. I can't imagine someone doing this manually without the action-it took me about 3 hours to create it.

    Thanks for the video. Never considered FB ads for my Etsy products. Might try it out.
    May I ask how many brands / Etsy Shops you have? Any advice for running multiple shops?

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  5 дней назад +2

      I currently have 5 Etsy stores. I started running Facebook ads a few years ago after Etsy changed how they manage their ads. Back in 2019, we had complete control over Etsy Ads, but now we don’t, which is why I focus heavily on Pinterest and Facebook/Instagram.

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  5 дней назад +2

      The best advice I can offer for managing multiple shops is to ensure each one is focused on a single niche or category. This approach makes it easier to maintain and update the SEO. Since each item attracts a different audience, knowing what needs to be adjusted becomes much simpler when you're not juggling a wide range of unrelated products.

      Everything in this video will lead to success. People tend to overcomplicate cell phone case designs, but I made all that money with simple names and basic designs. I wish the cartoon tool was available back when I sold them-it would have easily doubled my earnings. Plus, the competition for cell phone cases is surprisingly low on Etsy.

  • @artimuse

    Hi George. Great video as always. One question though. You say don’t use the name Samsung in title tags or description. When listing the phone case on Printify to push through to Etsy they use the name Samsung for the product. The iPhone is just called iPhone plus model no. Should we rename the Samsung on the Etsy drop down menu as Galaxy plus model no?

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  4 дня назад

      It's added by default, but I’d recommend removing the name just to be safe. It’s rare, but if you look online, you’ll find instances where listings have been taken down for this reason.

    Beautiful family and cat! Thank you for this video, I also believe in phone cases. My question is when you get an order for a custom photo, how do you process it through printify ?

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  5 дней назад +1

      I use APOD for personalization. It holds the placeholder for me, and then I send it off to Printify to get made and shipped. Check out this video I did a while back on how APOD works and how easy it is to use for personalized orders: ruclips.net/video/02jbACJ9mL8/видео.html

      Ok, thanks. My understanding is that the personalisation is not automatic. The photo upload by the customer needs to be manually massaged on Photoshop and created, then sent to Printify for fulfillment. Is there a way to automate it?

    • @wendyon4517
      @wendyon4517 5 дней назад +1

      @@shackworks
      The short answer is no. You need to be able to isolate the pet. This can be done with some background removal tools. Often it's a lot more editing to get the background cleanly removed. THEN you have to make it more cartoon-like which might easily be done with the applications he suggested we look for on Creative Market.

    Thank you, great info! So many questions but I'll stick with one. I don't know my way around Photoshop and wondered if you know of another program that can do the cartoon-ing (or, conversely, if I can learn these basics fairly easily; it's been overwhelming when I've looked at basic PS lessons in the past). So far I use Canva, Kittl, and Clipping Magic (for extra capabilities in bg removal and removing parts of elements when I want to tweak them). As far as I know, none of those have that capability yet. Thanks again for all you do!

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  5 дней назад +1

      I’ll need to look into this for you. The action I created automates the entire process of modifying the picture, saving you time compared to doing it manually. I know Canva and Kittl can’t do that, but there may be a free tool that can. I’ll keep you posted!

      @@EtsyMentor Thank you! I don't mind paying the $10/month for Photoshop if I'm going to use it; it's just historically been more than I've needed, and I didn't find some good basic lessons for my very basic needs. 🤣 This might be what finally pushes me into it, though. I appreciate you and your videos!

      Honestly, I’m no pro. I mostly use it for basic edits I probably could have done with Canva for free lol. I do love the AI tools though. They help me get images and mockups done quickly. Other than that, I’m still a newbie.

      Getting ahold of Etsy is tough, even for me as a 1% seller. They used to be so much easier to contact, but since last year, it’s become nearly impossible. I really hope they change that soon and provide a better way for sellers to reach them. Is there anything I can possibly help you with?

    Lucrative market if you want to put the time in, however, to say its passive income at the intro if far from the truth.

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  3 дня назад

      Passive income is defined as earning money with minimal effort. However, many people mistakenly believe it means doing nothing and just collecting money, like receiving a royalty. That’s not accurate. For example, real estate is considered passive income but still requires some work to maintain that income flow. If someone thinks passive income means making money without doing any work, that’s just laziness, and they won’t go far with that mindset.
